Definitely true. :yes

Universal better not be, like, "here's your album (normal CD case) and here's your bag (canvas bag in separate plastic bag)." I want a big box to hold everything!

Truth be told, I'm kind of reconsidering buying the deluxe edition now: if it only comes with 12 songs and 1 PV + an alternate version, then I don't know if it's really worth it. :shrug

The bag probably won't be that great so I'm really hoping they add more to the album (either bonuses or content).

^ EXACTLY, they should put more efforts on to that album
But we still haven't see anything, so I hope the album would be as great as our expectations :yes

FIRSTKLAS 24th April 2011 10:36 AM

Now that I think about it, I wonder if the price of the deluxe edition is so much because they're going to include a concert ticket or something with it like they did with the "New Beginning..." DVD?

The difference between the limited pressing and the deluxe edition is ¥4410. If all you get for that extra ¥4410 is a bag, it better not be a cheap canvas or plastic one. :P

new Hoot performance. it's definitely an off day for the girls as all of them sounded really bad.

AyUmIXx 24th April 2011 04:14 PM

i think it was okay, except Yuri sounded kinda tired & Yoona was lip-syncing her part

love in music 24th April 2011 04:44 PM

^Yoona usually does but Tiffany, Yuri, Seohyun and Soo young sounded so off.
I'm also really getting tired of them reusing the exact same outfits over and over again. They used to have at least some slight differences, but now it's just the same couple outfits recycled over and over for their Hoot performances.

waterballoon 24th April 2011 04:56 PM

they do sound kinda tired.. poor girls. but i thought this performance was kinda random too.. like i dunno to me at least.

love in music 24th April 2011 04:58 PM

I'm ready for them to start promoting Mr. TAXI! Hoot is almost 6 months old now.

freedreamer 24th April 2011 05:05 PM

THANKS!! THE PV looks neat. of coz...its just choreo and visuals lol

TofuBunny 24th April 2011 06:12 PM

who's idea was it to ship them to Jeju island to do a song they finished promoting months ago :no ? The girls need to be in Japan, resting and preparing for their Mr.Taxi promotions.

NOOOO The preview ended too fast for my liking. I already love this PV. :laugh MR. TAXI gets better every time I hear it. <3333333 So ready for them to start promoting it.

I agree with y'all they need to let the bbs rest, HOOT is done. That performance didn't need to nor should have happened. :no

love in music 25th April 2011 12:23 AM

I'm really scared/paranoid that they may not have a Mr. TAXI performance at all after seeing that KARA didn't promote their a-side of their latest Japanese single. I really, really am hoping for at least one live of MR TAXI. :(

rookies 25th April 2011 01:01 AM

The PV Preview is nice. I really like their taxi-coloured outfits.

NOOOOOOO :no
They should promote it...and don't make it the promotional track for the album since it's the only new PV they have :(
I guess they should do a ballad or more laid back PV once in awhile

My order shipped today too! I can't wait to receive it! I'm really looking forward to seeing the photobooks, seeing the RDR PV and Dance version, and hearing Mr. Taxi in full. I also want to see whose card I get (I'll be shocked if I don't get Taeyeon or Yuri as I always seem to get them). It's been hard to resist some of the leaks we've gotten but I know it's going to be worth it when I physically have the single in my hands!

freedreamer 25th April 2011 11:28 PM

I'm amazed the PV didn't come out before..I mean...it's the jpop market we are talking about. But oh well, I guess, you could say they released Run Devil Run prior to the single release date

And the dance version of MR. TAXI is here

love in music 26th April 2011 05:56 AM

^the choreography is AMAZING! I remember lots of people were hating on it from the preview but it's probably their most complex choreography yet.. LOVE it!

terra 26th April 2011 07:07 AM

^
I agree! the choreography is AWESOME!! It's one of the most elaborate they've ever had ever since RDR imo

bondingo 26th April 2011 08:07 AM

I feel like that was really entertaining for just the dance version of the video. Dance versions usually bore me but that one was good. I'm really loving the song more and more every time I hear it <3

i love the choreo too :luv2 :luv2 and my god they all look STUNNING!!!!! especially yuri in blonde!!!!!!!!!!!!! :luv2 :luv2

yeah, they're black versions of the gold outfits in hoot. I would have preferred completely new ones, but can't complain since they're so hot. :P

FIRSTKLAS 26th April 2011 03:42 PM

Wow. That was really good.

I kind of hate that it makes me want this version of the PV now even though it's only on the deluxe edition. :p

Their Japanese website is updated with a Mr.TAXI/RDR layout~
http://www.girls-generation.jp/mrtaxi/index.html

new pics from the gallery:

so gorgeous :luv2. I seriously am in love with Jessica's multi-belted outfit. I wish I could pull that off, but it only looks good on women with perfect bodies like Jessica. Kana Nishino attempted to pull it off but it did not look good.

TofuBunny 26th April 2011 07:21 PM

^ Great pics !
btw does anybody else thinks that Taeyeon is rocking this concept ? Her hair looks much better, and she looks so hot in the taxi outfit :luv2

love in music 26th April 2011 07:24 PM

^I agree! I like the hair now, and she's definitely working it. I think Taeyeon prefers the sexy/fierce concepts over the cute ones and works them so much better.

TofuBunny 26th April 2011 07:35 PM

^ Yeah although Taeng's appearance suites cute songs like Oh!, but it seems like she prefers Genie and Mr.Taxi over Gee .. and it really shows :yes

dreamland2.0 26th April 2011 07:37 PM

lololol what did they do to Hyo's face xD well she looks funny in that pic xD
And yah Jessica's outfit is awesome, I love Taeyeon's jacket too.
I think it's impossible for Yuri to take a bad photo *.*

noisy_harmony 26th April 2011 08:01 PM

...do we really look at the same girl guys D: Taeyeon looks horrible with this hairstyle, she even looked better with longer version having those blonde ends and that was already bad. MV is nice, most of girls look stunning these days. And the song is quite catchy.

I've come to the conclusion it is! I downloaded like some huge 9GB collection of SNSD's live photos from soshified and looked through most of them and from every single angle, even ones you'd think would be unflattering, Yuri just looks perfect. I'm so jealous!

Lol, had the same thought. She's a beautiful girl, but that cut simply doesn't work for her.

I love the MV, but wow, how can they be this skinny (not meant in a bad way, I envy them :luv2) !!

dreamland2.0 26th April 2011 09:28 PM

I just watched the dance PV and wow the dance is so awesome!!! I love it!! Everything about this song is awesome!! I wish the PV was on the single, because I so need to have it!! And Hyo gets a little dance break!! Yay!! I thought her hair looked quite nice this time (what do you say love in music, you dislike a lot of Hyo's hairstyles :laugh)
They all look so gorgeous!! :luv2

love in music 26th April 2011 10:34 PM

^do not like her hair in the taxi outfit but it's nice in the black outfit! it seems like weird hyo-like hairstyles went to Sunny & Jessica (in the black outfits) this time lol.

And I'm on the "not totally loving Tae's new hairstyle" side. It looks nice, but I prefer how it used to be, especially when she had it up like in the original RDR.

love in music 27th April 2011 01:09 AM

well her hair isn't really her fault. she mentioned in a few interviews she had to get it cut really short because most of it was so extremely damaged. if it's styled right it looks nice like in the Mr. TAXI PV, but I prefer the longer hair on her too.

adantatu2 27th April 2011 01:09 AM

For me Taeyeon looks better with the wig in the Run Devil Run PV.

I hope the single will do well on Oricon Chart :yes

FIRSTKLAS 27th April 2011 05:06 AM

Hyo's looks generally never seem to completely work with whatever cutesy/girly theme SNSD is doing at the moment. She looks too womanly compared to the others. I think if they were to ever do a mature and sophisticated theme, she'd totally kill it.

TofuBunny 27th April 2011 01:11 PM

yay great pics !
taeng's rocking her bad hair on that pic ~

Amrai-chan 27th April 2011 01:34 PM

I've tried to get into their music but I only seem to like a few songs. I like their Japanese stuff but that is probably because it's Japanese versions of songs I already like.

I'm starting to like Mr. Taxi.

terra 27th April 2011 01:49 PM

^ You should look into album tracks besides the one they use for promotions, and yes a bit switch to Kpop is hard for the first time (I felt that) but once you're into the groove and get to know the girls more, you'll get this whole thing :)

The official Japanese website of Girls' Generation was updated earlier today with a new theme reflecting the 'MR. TAXI/Run Devil Run' single that has already been shipped to some fans. When the website is first opened, a cut of the Japanese 'Run Devil Run' music video is shown along with a cut from the 'MR. TAXI' music video. Once the full website opens, be sure to click on the gallery to view updated portraits of the girls in their 'MR. TAXI' outfits.

On the first day of its release to the public, the full version of 'MR. With it being released so closely to the album, I'll definetely be getting it at a later time. I'm hoping though that with my birthday being in the beginning of July, I could ask for it as a birthday present.

Yeah, I've listened to some songs on their first album and I think the Gee mini album before too and I didn't care for those too much. Yeah I haven't been into Kpop much just mainly BoA.

keep in mind that the majority of SNSD's music is cute, so if you can't get into cute songs you won't like the majority of what they put out. but there also is stuff for those who dislike their cute songs like Hoot, Wake Up, Run Devil Run, Genie, Mr. TAXI and all of their ballads.

Exactly. Even though I love SNSD, I still wouldn't say I really like the majority of their songs. Mostly just the singles, ballads, and some other album/mini tracks. When they get really cutesy like in a lot of their first album, it's definitely not my thing.

Me too, I didn't really enjoy their super cutesy songs like Be Happy or Ooh La-La! :laugh though I love things like Gee, Oh!, ETUDE, Himnae, and etc. But somehow I like ones such as Yoona's Eco Song and Jessica's Sweet Delight :love :D
I tend to love their dance ones and ballads :yes

@Amrai-chan, I agree with Noura
Hoot mini would do Good, it's quiet a solid album :)

Although I think the girls' are doing great with their single sales and chart positioning, I have to admit that I was completely blindsided by Jang Geun Suk. I hope the girls' can surpass him for the #1 spot but whether they do or not, they are doing awesome and I wish them the best in sales.

There are already early signs of the success of Girls' Generation's Japan concert tour.

The group's first arena concert tour in Japan is gaining much attention for attracting close to 300,000 applicants for tickets. After such heated response, SM Entertainment decided to include 3 more additional concerts, so a schedule for 10 performances in 6 cities was confirmed.

Starting May 31st and ending on July 17th, the concert arena tour venues will include Tokyo, Osaka, Saitama, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Hiroshima. The Girls' Generation craze in Japan is expected to continue, with a total of 100,000 people estimated to attend the tour.

Girls' Generation held their first solo concert in Seoul and Shanghai last year, showing off their live performances as well as showcasing the attractive members and their colorful stages. Their influence that is fast spreading throughout Asia and beyond confirms the positive reactions from fans. There is much anticipation for the group's first arena tour in Japan, and there are high expectations from fans now more than ever.

On April 27th, Girls' Generation released their Japanese single, 'MR. TAXI', which peaked 1st at Japan's biggest mobile ringtone download chart, Rekochoku.

[04.29.11] Girls' Generation 'Gee' Tops MelOn 2000's Chart, Crowned K-Pop Song of the Decade
In the 2000's, the Korean music industry has replaced the ballad genre that was so dominating since the 1980's with idol groups who focus on dance music. Girl groups like Wonder Girls, Kara, 2ne1 and boy groups like Big Bang and 2PM have all become the strongest influences in the mainstream music industry. In the end, the song of the decade of the 2000's was 'Gee' by Girls' Generation.

The accomplishment of being named song of the decade is made even more impressive by the fact that 'Gee' was released at the end of the decade in 2009. With a record-setting nine consecutive wins on Music Bank, 'Gee' left an impressive impact that solidified Girls' Generation's status as the dominating force in the Korean music industry.

Making a stand in the midst of the trend of idol groups and girl groups are "Pure Talent" singers. Korea's representative R&B icons, Brown Eyes, managed to place as a dark-horse second in the chart with the song 'Little by Little'. Ballad, rock and other genres have also been significant in the Korean music industry. The past decade has drawn a distinct line between music "to be seen" and music "to be heard".

However, the decade's most attractive genre were idol groups and girl groups who were born at the heart of dance music. Their influence has grown to the point where their activities are considered to be at the center of South Korea's pop culture. Girls' Generation, Wonder Girls, Kara, Big Bang, Super Junior, 2PM, 2AM, SHINee and other idol groups' busy activities close out this decade with a dominating presence.

After ending the decade as one of Korea's top musical groups, Girls' Generation will now attempt to leave the same powerful impression on Japan. With the recent release of 'MR. TAXI' and the prospect of a full Japanese concert tour, the girls appear to be off to a good start in working towards that goal.

how horribly cheap. the dance ver. would suffice but.. ugh I hate this PV so much

adantatu2 29th April 2011 04:24 AM

i like the dance and the outfits, but it's simple

dreamland2.0 29th April 2011 04:46 AM

I love this PV :luv2 Everyone looks so pretty!!

ruixiong89 29th April 2011 05:42 AM

I have a feeling this was done by the Japanese production team. If it was SM Entertainment, I'm sure the PV will be much higher in quality. I mean, it's quite obvious Kpop MVs >>>>> Jpop MVs nowadays. :(

love in music 29th April 2011 06:08 AM

^I don't think so. I have never seen a high budget or extremely high quality MV come from SM. I don't care though, I just want a few minutes of entertainment with good choreography and them looking gorgeous, and they usually deliver on that.

Check out the normal version of the PV in HD!
