I woudn't mind reworked classics from PoM too!! It will be like A BEST 3 but so much better *____*

Dance Classes? Wuut??

I REAALLLLYY hope she's not planning to do a K-pop collab again. A lot of Japanese artists are doing it too these days...

It's just that she does rock in her own style, not too hard, not too soft, something in the middle, but it's rock :)

Agreed, though sometimes her rock songs do sound really harder. About You is an amazing example of how Ayu handles alternative rock <3 and it's something she should prolly exploit more. decision has elements of symphonic metal in it and while the PV sounds very poserish the song itself doesn't; at least not to me.

jpopfan018 15th November 2011 01:07 PM

If I'm not wrong, MY STORY started production 1.5 years before its release as ayu wanted to produce an album that is not rushed like what she has done for RAINBOW. So maybe the new album won't be released that soon, perhaps around March or April when she is gonna tour nationwide to promote the album.

AyUmIXx 15th November 2011 02:10 PM

another RnRC-type album will be great. i love that album a lot.
whatever it is, i'm excited for it to come out.

LONJJONG 15th November 2011 02:23 PM

Album?! Really?! Woot~ I don't expect it to be this soon~
>,< Looking forward!

AyumiAi 15th November 2011 03:50 PM

WOOOT! New ALBUM! :D CANT WAIT! :) except i think the filming for the PVs might be for a single, (hopefully I want ayu singles!!!) I hope she does a dancey PV she hasnt done a sexy dance pv like that in a while :D! Woot ayu <3

Aderianu 15th November 2011 03:55 PM

I would like to see album without singles ^^ that means more new songs at once

but I also love singles! because they have bonus stuff, like remixes and orchestra versions
I miss after-Love-songs singles =(

inspire_rmx 15th November 2011 04:04 PM

Yay for a new album in the process =) i hope leslie will be in charge of the cover again. i'm hoping for a jan single before the album. anticipating

YUKARI 15th November 2011 04:15 PM

I need a single. seriously.

The single means some promotion like TV, CM, mags...

Not necessarily, you know how she is about promotion lately.

Hmm.... A new album... I don't have any hopes or desires, I'm sure I'll like it no matter what it is. Ayu never disappoints. Rock, pop, ballads, whatever.

I disagree 100%. I think Ayu's rock songs are some of the best rock songs I have ever heard in my entire effing life. There is nothing better than Ayu rock and every time I get into an Ayu rock mood, all I can think is "damn, nobody does rock quite like Ayu and nobody ever will."

love in music 15th November 2011 06:06 PM

i don't think her rock music is bad really, unless it's from MY STORY because her voice was high pitched back then and it was just embarrassing.
but she has done so much of it that songs start to sound similar and it gets boring.

Zeke. 15th November 2011 06:19 PM

I still disagree. MY STORY had some of the best rock songs ever (GAME, About You) and pre-MY STORY had Because of you which is still amazing.

I think all her rock songs have a something different which I love.

GAME is very intense, mixed with slight electronic sounds.

About You is one of my ultimate favorites. I love all the drums in it. Like something a true band would play.

alterna is unique in itself.

is this LOVE? has some of the best guitar work and production ever. Very heavy.

1 LOVE and the Secret album are very "hard rock" almost like it's influenced more so by classic rock.

Talkin' 2 Myself is bordering metal - the guitar work is the heaviest of any song she has ever had and I love that.

Mirrorcle World is ... well, Mirrorcle World. It's definitely only something Ayu could pull off.

Microphone has a slight gothic influence with the organs and also has very heavy guitar work so it's a mix of something from GUILTY meets something from Secret.

I love all these songs and they are all very unique from one another.

But as far as the album recording in London... I am a bit frightened as I hope it is NOTHING like R'n'R. I will seriously shut myself up in my room and cry for a week straight and then turn that into anger and start throwing things around my apartment and breaking windows. Lol.

Her rock is rarely all-out rock though. It almost always has some pop overtones. So I think you could call it wannabe in some ways. There's at times heavy influences but she balances them with the arrangement, mix, vocals or melody itself. Exceptions are there but few.

I still love her rock though, I can't think of a single pop singer with better rock in their discography.

SAME :yes

Suteisi 15th November 2011 08:18 PM

Last time there were several singles released before an album, I remember seeing many people "complaining" (or stating their opinion) on how there weren't "enough new songs" on the album because there were many single songs on the album.

I think that Ayu releasing an album with no singles prior to it should be taken as a good sign. More new songs for us to enjoy with the release!!

... and I'm hoping for up beat songs, I don't care if they are rock, dance or pop, I just wanna dance to them. I'm tired of all the freaking ballads, it seems that's all she ever does these days.

Zeke. 15th November 2011 08:19 PM

I don't think anyone is complaining about there being no singles. I think everyone is just kinda of in shock and wondering what the strategy is this time around, or why they chose to go this route. It's just very odd and out of the "norm" - but I for sure am not complaining. The more new songs the better!

isthisLOL? 15th November 2011 08:35 PM

It's not like we'll get more songs that way, we'll just get more songs at a time - and longer periods without songs before the album.
Which could lead to less songs overall in the album era. I honestly doubt an album without singles would be even nearly as long as Love Songs(that album practically filled a whole CD)

But we don't even KNOW if there will be singles or not yet.

Yes but I tend to judge an album (at least for the first 6 months to a year) based on the new songs alone, not the singles. Once the album is released, I am usually already tired of the singles and the freshness of those songs have worn off. That's why when (miss)understood was released, I felt rather disappointed. Now looking back, I am able to see the album as a whole since it's been years since those singles were released. One reason why I loved Love songs so much was because when the singles were released, I hated them. I couldn't get through MOON in full until the album came out, and I didn't start listening to crossroad or the L single until the first weekend of October. So when Love songs came out, those songs were still fresh and my love for them was technically still at a peak (minus Virgin Road).

owlflight 15th November 2011 09:24 PM

I wonder how many songs will be on the album... hopefully not too many interludes. I may have to put Ayu's music on repeat until this album is released. Still so excited!

ohsixthirty 15th November 2011 10:16 PM

it seems like everyone is hoping for a rock album from ayu, but myself, i would sooooooooooooooo much rather have an electronica album like NEXT LEVEL. its my favorite album. i was really bummed out when she didn't continue that route with Rock'n'Roll Circus (even though i love RnRC too).

i guess i would love like 3 of each song...3 rock + 3 electronica + 3 ballads + 3 weird/other songs. :yes and a couple of interludes of course. haha!

Zeke. 15th November 2011 10:18 PM

Electronic is my favorite type of music but I didn't think the choices for NEXT LEVEL were that great. Where as with rock, it's almost guaranteed she will churn out hits. It's the safest genre for her imo and I don't mind that because it's always something kickass.

you know...i love her rock songs, and often they're the songs that grab me the most at first, but at the same time, they tend to be the songs that i listen to the least as time goes on.

like for example...i loved 1LOVE soooooooooooooo much, but now i almost never listen to it.

i would love to see the NEXT NEXT LEVEL. haha! :yes

jbrat2219 15th November 2011 10:55 PM

I thought NEXT LEVEL was a very good attempt at electronic for Ayu. I don't get the "rushed, unpolished" feeling everyone says about it. My brother, who is not really an Ayu fan, said Sparkle and rollin were some of the best he's heard, even including western music. And I always thought identity and LOVE'n'HATE were some of her fiercest songs.

NintendoHTF1242 15th November 2011 11:02 PM

If she does something like NEXT LEVEL, then she should stick to just electronic. It bothered me listening to the amazing, epic rollin' then you get the oriental GREEN right after...then you had the random rock section and a Mariah Carey-esque ballad to finish off the album.

Zeke. 15th November 2011 11:11 PM

See I did not like rollin' - I think it's such a boring song and kind of annoying too. Curtain Call was boring. NEXT LEVEL was boring as well - I love the arrangement but the melody for the chorus was lacking (I am just now beginning to like the overall song). I loved identity but now I find it kind of terrible with the "Whoa whoa whoa yeeeeeaahs" - I love the chorus but the rest, well, it wasn't enough to become a forever hit with me. Bridge to the sky is the best of the new songs on the album and it's an intro. I hate LOVE'n'HATE. EnergizE I liked. All the interludes kicked ass though.

NEXT LEVEL for me is the album where all the singles are lightyears ahead of the new material.

jbrat2219 15th November 2011 11:23 PM

Yeah, we will all have difference of opinion on what songs we like in an Ayu album, but the thing I'm not getting is why anyone would call her works "unpolished." I always felt that even if I disliked an album, the quality of the production was never the reason. I know this may be just my opinion but, good or bad, Ayu's songs are some of the best produced songs in the business. They sound rich but I think many other J-pop acts sound very cheap.

Zeke. 15th November 2011 11:27 PM

Well I will say that R'n'R to me seemed unpolished and NEXT LEVEL not as polished as previous works.

jbrat2219 15th November 2011 11:30 PM

I agree with you that Ayu's rock songs don't feel poserish and "no one" rocks like she does, but I don't agree that GAME is a rock song. That song is sooo pop to me, lol.

Also on the topic of production and polishedness, imo her I am... to Secret (or GUILTY) era songs were really top notch in production, but since then it's gradually declined. FIVE was a huge all time low, but Love songs was just as good production/polish-wise as her peak stuff.

The guitar work is super heavy though. Right after the intro, when the guitars kick in, that has such badass production.

The songs felt much weaker. There was not as much going on in the background, not as many hidden sounds and definitely not as many layers. It's very straight-forward and not complex at all. countdown and Last Links are both like that. I feel like Don't look back is just random production with Ayu's vocals. It seems almost out of sync at time and the flow is awkward. meaning of Love I cannot comment on as I don't think I've ever made it through the whole thing. Lady Dynamite felt like at times it could be badass but it fell short. Although I cannot stand Sexy little things, it's probably the one song that has a clever arrangement and seems as if it had a decent amount of work put into it. Not to mention, the interludes are her weakest ever and Jump! makes me want to slam my head in a wall. THE introduction used weak syntesizers but despite that, I love the composition and overall feel of it. Had only they made it more standout by using a better arrangement.

ohsixthirty 16th November 2011 12:34 AM

all my favorite songs from NEXT LEVEL are getting hate! :cry

i don't know, fans always talk about things being rushed or polished or unpolished, but honestly, i can't tell any difference. :shrug

zellyx 16th November 2011 12:43 AM

dance classes?? INTERESTING!!
I love when ayu "dances" like her "dance" in (don't) leave me alone.
Actually, Real Me was quite good!

I'm so excited. Even if I don't love a full release, I always love about half of it.

By the way, I love NEXT LEVEL. Though GREEN, days, and curtain call felt really out of place to me.

Gustavopc 16th November 2011 12:53 AM

People were afraid Love songs would come out as a rushed album but it's very pretty done imo, much more that album which weren't made in a short time...

I just hope for a very rockish song, a very beautiful ballad and, who knows, something like GREEN/Will again, with all this I'll be already happy.

joshohhhhh 16th November 2011 01:28 AM

i don't care what happens as long as her vocals are proper, the songs are mixed well and she isn't featuring/featured.

I agree with other comments about not wanting anymore collabs; I would also like fewer ballads, but, other than that, I don't really have any expectations.

letter 16th November 2011 01:53 AM

Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind her doing something similar to Malice Mizer's Merveilles. They combined classical and electronic music, and they did it well.

RayJason 16th November 2011 03:04 AM

To my honest opinion, I like her studio vocals, so that is not something I worry about. I'm open for everything, J-POP, J-ROCK, etc etc except for too much ballads, sad songs, Urata and JUNO.

I prefer uplifting, happy J-POP atm and happy ballads (lol).

I think I should have elaborated a little more...but I know people are gonna disagree with this too anyways though so...rawr rawr...anyway...

I actually love nearly every single one of those songs you've listed. Some of them are some of the best songs she's ever done...but imo...The Ayu who did songs like those back then...doesn't really do songs like those anymore. They might be similar in formula or structure...but that's it.

idk it's just the way her rock songs have been going recently. There aren't THAT many of them though, and they're usually full of feeling and ayu, but the music is subpar to me, and has the general feel of trying too hard, and also, trying to hard to be like songs you listed lol

My solution to this was, she needs more diversity in the people she works with...

which, I guess, is really the only thing I want from her at all from her future releases. I don't care what she gives us really, as long as she branches out with what she's doing and testing what she can do.

random: I still don't get why RnRC gets so much hate. It has the same format of her previous albums, except the songs aren't as good. But none of her songs are "as good" so...

oh, and yey for MY STORY love. That album also gets too much hate.

pepper 16th November 2011 03:19 AM

I still don't know why people wants something like RnRC/Next Level. There were a LOT better albums imo (taste is taste) I just don't get it, sorry xD I don't hate any of this album but I have similar opinion about songs like Zeke. I can't stand Love'n'Hate, rollin' was very boring at the begining, identity is only fine because of the chorus...I never listens to NEXT LEVEL, EnergizE is way too chaotic... RnRC? Lady Dynamite is chaotic, boring, and sound like a talking for me (it does have a melody but we know Ayu could do something really catchy...) Don't look back sound like an interlude for me (never liked it, I don't get that hype..) meaning of love is one of the song I don't even remember how it sound like o_O But RnRC compared to NL have more songs that I really enjoyed (even if Last Links and countdown sounds really similar, i like them) - and RnRC got awesum singles (NL got only Sparkle I highly loved) and Microphone/Sexy little things that i adored.

Sorry for offtop again
I would love to hear something like letter said, electronic with classic (epic sounds) and I'd love a violin, but PLEASE not it that "Love'n'Hate" way... I just figured how i dislike this song. It's irritating.

taskinillusion 16th November 2011 03:32 AM

I think it would be amazing to see what a whole album done at once would sound like. It would definitely be a new thing for her and I'm really looking forward to having ALL NEW songs!! I mean, who wouldn't?? I hope we get it shortly after Christmas too.

DogboyShugo 16th November 2011 04:13 AM

Yes, progress was trying WAAAAAYYYY too hard to have similarities to Mirrorcle World. The only thing I truly, truly adore about that song is the bridge. Best bridge ever in an Ayumi Hamasaki song imo. Sucks that I have to listen to this subpar rock song just to hear those few short seconds of the bridge! Lol.

And with R'n'R, it was just waaaay too hyped. I know Ayu hypes all her releases, but R'n'R was the first time where she really practically told us how her daily duties as far as producing the new album was going, and we got so many pictures from the videos and photos from the shoots. Then it was hailed as Ayu by being something along the lines of "back to basics of Ayumi Hamasaki" and I drew similarities toward MY STORY which is my favorite album. So when it was released and it was nothing at ALL like MY STORY or anything I had come to expect of the album, I wanted to die. But I have told this story so many times, I feel like a broken record. Sorry to all, lol.

adantatu2 16th November 2011 05:40 AM

i don't want an album like NEXT LEVEL or RnRC, they were different and good, and i'm expecting something different and good now.
And since there aren't singles, i'm expecting a concept album

Yumsushi 16th November 2011 07:15 AM

I am here to defend Rollin's honor and to second Zeke's disappointment in RnR Circus. That Album almost ended my love for Ayumi. Thank the lord for Love Songs, angioedema cover and all.

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 16th November 2011 07:24 AM

I'm defending Countdown until my heart stops beating!

yukito 16th November 2011 07:39 AM

Hmm no one is defending Love songs... I wonder why? I think to date, and with the exception of FIVE as well, this is her worst album so far, and I thought RnR was weak...
As for MY STORY, I really loved and still do love it to beats, especially the SACD surround mix. Secret was the first physical release I bought and I pretty much love it all as well, except for 2 songs. As for her three latest releases (NEXT LEVEL, RnR and Love songs) the number of songs I find irritating keeps increasing.
So I really hope for a more rock oriented album once again. I am and I can see a lot of other people are starting to feel disconnected by her balads and music in general, so let's hope for a change.

About Love songs defending..well, Is the album I loved the most after (miss)understood, the music ir rougher, her voice sounds more true to my ears and the songs reached me..RnRC rock songs except Microphone where weak imo, involved me 0% that's why I've just listened to the whole album 2 or 3 times and then listened to just a few tracks..but I feel is right to say that is an absurd comparison cause there will always be people loving RnRC and hating Love songs as far as these two albums have a totally different concept..so I believe it's just about taste and personality.

love in music 16th November 2011 09:02 AM

I LOVE Love Songs. it was such a fresh album with awesome arrangements - even her usual cute song had a stellar arrangement! everything was fresh but still so ayu. it's one of my fave albums actually. :)

ComatoseBunnySnatcher 16th November 2011 09:06 AM

Love Songs is the kind of album I like because its cherent, but it sounds pretty boring to me....
Mostly because there's no really upbeat stuff in it that isn't cheesy. RnRC is cheesy but fun, it brought back my Ayu love after losing it in 09 with AT and NL.

I actually seriously wonder if she's trying to transition into just a ballad singer.

Oh I see. hmm I think I could see where she would think it would be like MY STORY...but yeah...fail lol

yey for count down love.

@love: I hope not...but it isn't...the most unpredictable of moves I guess....in Japan...

I agree to 100%. Taste is pretty much everything. From where I come from rock and metal is something pretty much everyone listens too. It's very deep rooted in our culture to enjoy rock. So by that, I have always loved every single one of Ayu's rock songs. I feel much more connection with them. So R'n'RC got to be one of my favourite albums from her (with Duty :heart) very easily. And Because of You - my favourite song. While for others it might be something totally different and I will never argue them wrong.

It will never make sense for me to tell anyone why they shouldn't like a song or album just because I don't enjoy it.

Kanzaki 16th November 2011 09:50 AM

As always with a new Ayu album, I want something:

1. New, not easily comparable to previous albums.
2. Original, melodies that sound fresh.
3. Songs that are so catchy I won't ****ing ever forget them :laugh
4. Rock (though super-catchy pop, if done right, I won't mind).

I also don't mind collabs, if they are good, one or two collabs on an album I feel is a max though.

Exactly. Why is this so hard to understand anyway? Of all things that are relative, music's always been a prime example of that theory. Leave people's personal preferences alone. A healthy discussion is one thing, attacking an opinion is different.

Same with me but instead of countdown I do it for Don't look back.

Don't look back and Sexy little things are 2 innovative and great productions tracks I can't get how anything like awkward or out of sync can be said about any of them.
Yeah, maybe Rock'n'Roll Circus wasn't the brightest book on the shelf but it still had some gems that shone strongly like these 2.
For Don't look back, yeah she had vogue and ourselves with some indian music influence but Don't look back is outshining them in the use of arabian/indian music both. For Sexy little things, how many singers could pull up swing pop (a non exist style) as good as that? (this is not implying for people who hate the track because of the style).

I dunno but when I read stuff that degrade high quality on these 2 tracks, I feel like I have to step in. ;)

Completely agree with you! Don't look back is probably one of my favorite ayu tracks ever, even friends and family like this track even though they don't care for J music at all.

Didz-19 16th November 2011 10:49 AM

I LOVE R'nRC. Seriously guys, every Ayu album has its own quality~ I respect everyone's opinion~ Well, she have done alot of work on R'nRC. Every single song were different (except for sunset/sunrise, although i really like sunset more~ :), you could tell the difference when you listen from the start till the end~ although (miss)understood is the most experimental album ayu have done, but R'nRC has its own uniqueness. well, that's my opnion~

elvis810 16th November 2011 10:49 AM

i agree that love songs actually flows smoothly and is one of her most coherent album but i also find it boring. Love Songs was the only new song on the album that i liked.

I hope she plays around with album concept, her look and music genre in the new album...hopefully we hear a new sound from her (but definitely not R&B or hip-hop)...and no collaboration with xyz, u know who and who...

Mwahahahha I know who, and really couldn't agree more with the stuff for her not to do.
The songs that really made me cringe in Love songs where Thank U and November, she annoyed me so much in both, and I was also not so crazy about Like a doll...

errikkutrancex 16th November 2011 11:22 AM

...but I think we all agree that "bridges" or "instrumental" tracks are not really necessary...better news songs ! :p or short versions, such as "mirror" on Guilty album :)

Andali 16th November 2011 12:24 PM

I'm hoping for something like My Story. That's my favorite album

isthisLOL? 16th November 2011 12:29 PM

I'm hoping for a continuation of Love Songs but with a new genre twist to it.
So...the production qualities, uniqueness and great flow(honestly in these 3 aspects, no Ayumi album as a whole can compete) of Love Songs paired with a different genre, any genre, because Ayumi has proven that she can pull of basically any genre.

ah ah those songs are my favourite of the album..unbelievable how difefrently we perceive and feel the things guys

yukito 16th November 2011 01:28 PM

Oops, sorry... I can stand Thank U better though.

axmish87 16th November 2011 01:53 PM

I was CRAZY (and still am for Like a doll, sending mail,November,Sweet Season,do it again)
The only song i tend to skip at times(more often now actually) is Thank U.
All those laa~laaaaas sound cheap,overused,generic,boring...
It's obvious that Thank U is a filler song,it maybe good for concert performances
but I don't like it at all,it reminded me how much i don't like Humming 7\4 but imo that
song is actually better than Thank U :-//

I agree! Especially on the production. The arrangements in that album are breathtaking!

:yes

What I meant by Don't look back being out of sync is that I don't really feel like the instrumentation during the chorus fits the chorus. The chorus really to me is just missing a POW. It seems forced for me and I just can't get into it and the arabic noises really don't fit the song. Good idea, but bad execution for that song with that melody. I do adore the bridge though.

Rurutia 16th November 2011 09:27 PM

is sweet days one of her new songs? I don't recognize that song that played at the beginning of the making of video for the contacts thing

Pieces_of_SEVEN 16th November 2011 09:54 PM

It's YOU "Ramon Zenker Remix"

pepper 16th November 2011 10:42 PM

I hope for Timmy. All album made by Timmy would made my mind blew away. I think he fits her "Ayu" sound. BRILLANTE is very unique but still very Ayuish. Go Timmy!

(my boyfriend kinda dislikes Ayumi and when I gave him BRILLANTE he said "Oh, well, you were right, this IS amazing" ;DDDDD)

Midori-chan 16th November 2011 11:57 PM

GREAT! I can't wait for the new album! :smitten

I'm hoping for some beautiful ballads (like "Endless sorrow", "walking proud", "CAROLS",...) and some great rock songs (like "talkin' 2 myself", "decision", "About You",...). One or two "cutesy songs" - like "ANGEL'S SONG" or "BLUE BIRD" - are welcome too! :yes

But whatever...Ayu has never disappointed me so far, so I'm looking forward to her new album! :heart

tokyoxjapanxfan 17th November 2011 12:06 AM

I think I'd rather hear a few more songs by Timmy before I say I want an entire album by him xD

Pieces_of_SEVEN 17th November 2011 12:13 AM

^^One or two songs max. I'm not convinced he can impress us as much as he did with BRILLANTE.

Yeah I mean my God, he did one song and now everyone is ready to put him in charge of Ayu's entire legacy. Lol.

truehappiness 17th November 2011 12:39 AM

Isn't that what Ayu normally does with newer composers in a way? She has them work on a TON of stuff for a while (Tetsuya Yukumi (2004-2006), Yuta Nakano (2007-present) after first starting to use them before phasing them out at some point?

And as far as this new album goes, I just want it now, lol.

stivenoto 17th November 2011 12:42 AM

Hope something like microphone, Mirrorcle World, Progress, Brillante, Carol....

Love those songs so much :D

RayJason 17th November 2011 12:52 AM

I just hope it's ayumi hamasaki, not Timmy, Juno or Urata, just ayu...

owlflight 17th November 2011 12:58 AM

I'm not too familiar with who composed what song in Ayu's discography. But I'm hoping for no collabs. They were nice (I liked Why...) but I'd rather just hear Ayu singing. I wouldn't mind a really great happy song or something I can dance to somewhere on this upcoming album.

there will be no crea for sure, so there will be ayu+composer as always.
i honestly don't care about urata's collab again, as long if it will be one song.

Kazeyomi 17th November 2011 03:38 AM

am I the only one who don't hate with all of myself her recent collabs?
They're ok for me :shrug even if JUNO > Urata imo.
But I don't think she will going to repeat this collabs-experiment again, especially after what happened at a-nation this year. For me it was just for FIVE. I'm still thinking FIVE it's a collaboration mini-album, just like Checkmate for Namie.

NintendoHTF1242 17th November 2011 04:22 AM

BRILLANTE was awful. If Timmy makes another song for her I hope it's nothing like BRILLANTE.

Gustavopc 17th November 2011 04:39 AM

It'd be awesome if ayu herself compose some songs as well. By the way, I was just wondering these days, but it may not make sense since I'm not into ayu producers: Is there any chance that ayu created another pseudonym instead of CREA and composed some songs and we just don't know that it was her all the time? Like a random producer that poped up once and never again...

You must be the only one in the universe to think such a thing, lol. Everyone here on AHS basically would make love to BRILLANTE if it were a person. Very bold statement.

I think BRILLANTE is one of her more emotional songs. I love the lyrics, I love the sound of her voice - the sad, soft, and bittersweet emotion hidden behind it. The composition is brilliant (that pun was actually not intended). The chanting I could do without but the song itself is gorgeous. To me, it's something new but STILL classic Ayu for once. I'm sick of people saying "I WANT SOMETHING NEW, I WANT SOMETHING NEW" well you know what, I DON'T. I love Ayu for the works shes done and I don't want something completely off the wall. I hate it when she does that (Sexy little things, Don't look back, Why..., ANother Song). BRILLANTE was so great because it was different, unexpected, but still something that has that Hamasaki Ayumi feeling to it.

adantatu2 17th November 2011 05:53 AM

I like BRILLANTE, and i hope another song by timmy, but only with ayu's voice (i don't like timmy's voice in BRILLANTE) IMO.

I think the chanting itself are great, but not when you look at Timmy dressed like a cheap drag queen xD thats the only thing i dislike about BRILLANTE music video (but I love Timmy all the way normal! He's damn handsome.)

HTMSD 17th November 2011 06:45 AM

another possibilities with Tales of tie-in

Tales of the Heroes : Twin Brave, is one possibility for a tie-in, since it's one of the Tales of Series 15th Anniversary (just looking at the cover that had Jude and Milla from Xillia as the frontmen), and Bandai Namco haven't announce the theme song for that title. Tales of Heroes will be released in February for sony PSP. Yet, there'll be another Tales of Festival private for media on December like last year.

another possibilites is Tales of Xillia THE ANIMATION (still rumour, but Viva Tales of Magazine that'll release on November, 28th is mentioned by 7shopping that the issue will be announcement for the anime adaptation). No release date announced, but if it's anime series, maybe they'll aired it on Spring 2012 (March possibilities).

ayu's still recording an album for 2012 release, and seeing the success of the Xillia (that sold more than 760,000 copies), I think Bandai Namco will be reconsider to use ayu again, for February - April album release.

Although, the sales of Xillia is nothing to do with the theme song :p But to attract more people and seeing the success of FIVE, I think avex will not gonna miss the chance for it.

Well, it's just random thought I've had in mind. Don't take it seriously :p

freedreamer 17th November 2011 07:13 AM

WHOA TALES XILLIA ANIMATION!!! we could be on to something there..

yamadashun 17th November 2011 07:18 AM

^
^that would be the theme song for an anime after Inuyasha few years back.

microphone 17th November 2011 07:49 AM

I am hoping Hana Nishimura and Tomoya Kinoshita make a return. Of course, I'd like to see Ayu compose too and Tetsuya Yukimi is always welcome.

emi♡ 17th November 2011 08:10 AM

I think BRILLANTE is gorgeous, and different for ayu, but not so experimental among that kind of genre...which is fine. I mean, sometimes if you're going to make songs, might as well do what is known to work...

and I love timmy, but I think I too would only prefer to have one or two songs by him. Her way of wearing people out just hasnt been working for me musically.
