maybe I don't like the album title but how you can tell it's meaningless? It means: I am a Party queen and some of the songs might be about it - it's still a meaning. According to amount of her ballads (/and songs about "I'm so in love") - I AM EXCITED for something rocky, poppy, party, discoesque, dance'y. I just hope it will not be like RnRC album - the rock theme, 3 rock songs and that's it.
there is like maybe 2 album titles of her I like so why bother? there is a music under a title and that's the most important thing, aye? |
I don't care if the titles aren't as meaningful. I want something fun and superficial.

Is it "Party Queen" or 'Party queen' ? Either way I'm terribly disappointed with the title. I'm satisfied what concerns the tracklist (except for shake it having that heart symbol in it's title ........). BUT It looks promising....... :)

Party Queen is the album title and Party queen is the song title, it seems. It looks like they initially updated the official site with the "queen" in the title but it was changed afterward.

These titles might not imply deep thoughts,but that doesn't mean they cannot turn out comnpletely different. Ayumi has prove us wrong several times. A title doesn't neccesary define a song guys :rolleyes

Personally, I dont like some of the titles because they give the album a certain feel. Thats all we reaaly have to go by right now, of course they'll become less important as more info and stuff comes out.
In any case, its sort of like, if I wanted a koda album, I'd listen to koda lol But no one really knows what the songs will sound like. Dont get your panties all in a bunch. |

I used to judge her songs by her titles before they were released, but after they are, they usually turned out to be songs I ended up liking very much (STEP you being a prime example). Afterwards I stopped doing that and just sit back to wait for those "ugly-titled" songs to blow my mind :)

I'm excited that all of the songs but 2 are ones we've never heard before! It will be awesome (also a little weird) to listen to an album with no singles that came before it (aside from how beautiful you are). I think that's a good thing; how many times has an album been great, EXCEPT for the obligatory summer single/winter ballad that comes along and throws the whole feel of the album off?

I'm not impressed with the titles, but i don't care, the most important for me is the music and the lyrics !! I hope they can add at least 2 new pv's. Since i'm poor, i can't wait for the OS press release (i hope it includes a clear file too, XD) |

Its just so unJ-Pop to release an album this way, lol. It makes me feel funny inside. Its actually very American music industry of her. Not that I dislike the American system, but I'm just so used to the Japanese and the Americans doing things differently. There are pros and cons to both systems. I wonder if this is a one off thing, or is this the way Ayu plans to release future albums? All of avex? All of J-Pop?!?!

I would say that this format won't generally work for Japan unless -everyone- does this. But because people still buy singles in Japan, financially, they make more money having various singles formats released than various album formats released. Plus, most of the time albums released with no singles do badly sales wise.
So I'm interested in seeing how this pans out. |
^ i am too... but I think Ayumi has her staple fan base that will buy this and the fact that Im pretty sure they will promote the crap out of this as the time gets closer

Saigokara Nibanme no Koi also gets rather good ratings so we'll see if that helps the album at all~ (The ratings are steady at higher than 10%~! That's way better than Dandy Daddy which averaged like maybe 6% or so)

I hope she will release on iTunes internationally like GUILTY so I can buy the album. I don't feel like buying the physical album right now and probably won't buy anymore

the album title and the tracklist are making me a little nervous... It doesn't look at all like something that has ayu's signature on it. I would have never thought that this would be something that would come from ayu. BUT, she is going through a lot now, and as a fan for over 5-6 years I'm not gonna make any more judgements until I see the final result.

I just realized, she hasn't had any singles since her 50th, has she? She was featured on Dream On, then she released FIVE. Perhaps avex has no confidence that she can sell singles, now that she has broken the record?

I don't think it has anything to do with avex. In 2011, they probably were waiting Tales of Xillia to come out so that she could release something and by then it was rather late so a mini album ended up being what we got.
I think we might get a 51st single some time this year. |

I would actually love a true "Autumn" single, with warm-looking covers a'la MOON and a song similar to Sweet Season. That would be amazing in my books!
She'll probably sing how beautiful you are when she promotes it. I'm hoping for 4-5 lives this time around. I'm sick of only getting 1-2 lives max for her singles and albums lately!! Best case scenario for me is that she does 4-5+ lives of two songs. One upbeat, one balladesque.....or a medley depending on how the songs can fit together! I was always glad for no pre-release singles, especially after seeing the prices of the limited sets....I think it'll be really interesting to see how she goes here and what Avex will do to make up for the lost potential income from the singles. Like suggested earlier, I'm guessing a flood of CMs, billboards and return of the promo buses from Rule/Sparkle? |
I don't really need a physical single before the release of the album, but I'd like a single from the album after its release, with lots of remixes or maybe a bonus track not included in the album. Something like what happened wit appears, kanariya or Daybreak xDD

Nowadays is hard to get the 1st place, because there are a lot of idols,johnny's and kpop artists releasing singles like crazy. Maybe it is risky and they don't want the end of her streak.

I took a few albums off of my shelf to look at guessing a potential track order :lech I think the CD+DVD versions give the best insight when looking at them since they're the new standard for Ayu...it became a bit like a Sudoku puzzle for me xD

The amount of videos makes sense. I mean, usually she has ~8 months to film various videos for singles throughout the year. Say a total of 3~4 videos. Then she usually films 3~4 videos for the actual album. Resulting in say, 6~8 videos total.
But now she's cut out the singles, and it's basically being treated as all the "album songs" getting videos. Though I would agree that a few more would have been nice. I'm not expecting that there will be any changes in videos being added. But who knows. |
I think if she were to add more, she would only do one more. It'd be nice if Party queen got a PV but given the history of album title tracks in the past save for NEXT LEVEL and RAINBOW, they usually don't get PVs.

I think the title "Party Queen" is going to be intentionally sarcastic. The album will probably contain songs that stretch into deeper and untouched parts of Ayumi's mind. The album will probably contain songs that broaden her creativity as an artist. Perhaps, the album will tell the story of a girl who only wants to be in control of so much less than she really is. Perhaps, there is a brilliant metaphor that we aren't picking up on...
...Or maybe the ***** wants to party. |

Well she had David Reitzas for Love Songs(Virgin Road, SEVEN DAYS WAR, do it again and November I think, but I'm not sure...) and FIVE(he did progress and beloved) and he is one of the best sound engineers in the world(he did some of the most succesful songs of all time and works with Celine, Barbra, Seal, Cher, Shakira, Madonna...all the time, he also mixed "I Will Always Love You")...she also had Leslie Kee for photography and PVs and he's at the top, too.
I can see her getting people of similar acclaim. Or even the same again. |
