I don't think anyone knows what it will be. avex Taiwan and Hong Kong seem to have information that it'll be something physical aka not something you download since you have to redeem the cards with codes at stores apparently. BUT this isn't confirmed at all so no one has any concrete information. The last release will probably be when we get confirmation of just what the cards/codes are used for.

And anyway, a 15th anniversary video would be odd since the time period when the codes/cards are usable is 3/8-3/31... before the anniversary even happens.

I hope it's digital contents of some sort but something more than a wallpaper or screensaver. Maybe a bit more 'exclusive' feeling? Since the timeframe is so short, the likelihood of it being digital is pretty low since usually those are up for a few months before being taken down (do it again CDL making, You & Me making, etc.)

I don't think it will be the case but look at Letter and call. Everyone was pretty surprised when they both turned out to be full tracks.

I also agree, Bridge To The Sky was absolutely stunning! Love it! I tend to think of NEXT LEVEL as the album of GREAT interludes (better than most songs on that album, imo) :D

Totally agree, NEXT LEVEL blew me away with its quality of interludes. I still can't get over how strangely "Pieces of SEVEN" leads into "Days" though.

They hardly use actual interludes. They are created for the show only. I was surprised by discomunication though. :)

Ah, it was likely to be original to the concert then. She tends to have concert only interludes for CDL and even sometimes tours. (like snow field and music or feedback)

Yeah roughly; I'm currently an hour behind Japan!

Anyway, I did some research on the time durations between studio albums, and BEST albums:

Party Queen/A SUMMER BEST - four and a half months.
Duty/A BEST - Roughly five/six months.
Secret/A BEST 2 - Roughly three months.
GUILTY/A COMPLETE - ten months (NEXT LEVEL has a smaller duration, however it comes afterwards so it doesn't really count..)
RAINBOW/A BALLADS - three months.

If A BEST 3 is released in March then it'll be the tiniest duration of time (one month) between a studio album and a BEST album.

Saying that though, both A BALLADS and A BEST were released in March. Also, A BEST 2 was released right at the end of February (if she had extended it longer, it would have been a March release). So, it's completely possible that she may follow this trend.

Considering that three months seems to be the current minimum, would two months (April 8th; her anniversary) really be impossible? Probably not. I reckon this will be the most likely for A BEST 3...

For the 5th release, I really don't want anything BEST, anything compilations, haha.

The best is probably a single. But that's not likely to happen I guess...

Memorial address isn't a cover, as she wrote the lyrics to the existing music that wasn't originally composed for her. Kind of the same thing happened with the majority of the (miss)understood songs which were originally composed for Jade (sweetbox).

There was 6 years between A BEST (2001) and A BEST 2 (2007), so that could make another 6 years for A BEST 3. I really think that A BEST 3 would be the last release, if we can expect releases by calculation. The release might come at the tiniest duration of time between a studio album and best album, but that's only because of the anniversairy. (Omg, duh xLuna)

I think April 8 would be appropriate for the A Best (These are "supposed" to be for the fans, so A Best would be more Avex designated) in my opinion. Remember Ayu didn't even want the first A Best!

I have a feeling we're getting A BEST 3. Avex would save the biggest release to last and I can't see how the tour DVD is going to follow a new album.

Box set of her albums is also a cool idea, but that would potentially kill sales of individual releases. As well as that, these releases are for her fans and her fans would own some or most of her albums, so it's a bit of a dud release in that respect.

I'd love this! A Song For XX definitely deserves a remake. Those 10th anniversary version songs sounded interesting, I wish she could make remake album out of them.

Personally, I don't really want it to happen, but there have been quite a few releases since the last one so it's definitely on the horizon. Also being her 15th anniversary, I can't help but think that it will be out eventually sometime this year if not in March or April.

We can only look forward to what will be in it along with the old 'remastered' tracks and etc... and if you can't even look forward to that, then why even pay attention at all during the release? I have a feeling we'll get some people saying "PFT WHY IS SHE RELEASING A BEST AGAAAAAAAAAIN" but probably nothing like when A COMPLETE was pulled out for the 10th anniversary. That was a rather confusing release despite selling well.

That's what i figured, but I wouldn't get my hopes up expecting there to be remastered tracks and even if I was EXPECTING something like a best-of album, that wouldn't make me want it anymore.

A BEST 2 had just come out about a year before so it was a bit odd to get another 'compilation/greatest hits' album at that time, iirc.

honesty, ayumi doesnt release Best albums like the majority of the market, thankfully. But I was happy with complete singles and hopes she does another one now that it looks like she is done releasing them. I always like the extra content that comes with them since she always seems to pull out the stops for them.

Oh yeah A SUMMER BEST had a crapload of extra content. She really pulled out ALL the stops on that one!!
