I mean Monday here (Canada :P my bad). I think they should post the news (of who's getting no. 1 or so) in about 6 - 8 hrs or so...

usually what Oricon will do is that for every new single/album that topped the Oricon chart , they will 1st post the article for the new single/album chart topper for the week on Tue & then on Wed , the official figures will be reflected on Oricon's website

but for those that subscribed to Oricon & also on 2ch , the numbers will be released much more earlier which will be tomorrow

Yes she also took the number 2 position of seiko matsuda for the solo singer who has the most number 1 albums with 19 works (seiko 18) ^^ Yuming is number one with 22 works ! Ayu can beat this one ^^

Oh, about the drop, I read in some places that some stores had no copies in stock this weekend. *TSUTAYA was the one mentioned*

It doesn't look good for the past releases since I have heard that you can find a copy of LOVE CD+DVD at BOOKOFF for 125yen! I suppose with LOVE again happening, this was inevitable.

It is but generally at BOOKOFF the newer the releases the closer to the original price they are and the better condition they're in. 125 yen is a downright bargain for a CD+DVD that's two months old. That's something like $1.30-$1.40 Australian ($1.50 American).

I think it also has to do with stock. If they have like a dozen copies of LOVE and again, they're going to be priced to sell.

BOOKOFF is godly. The ones in Japan probably have more Ayu items. The ones in California tend to be pretty low on Ayu stocks. "Used items" in Japan basically means "almost like new" for most things I find.

I was in Japan last week and visited over 10 BOOKOFFs and never saw LOVE CD+DVD for 125 yen. I wanted to buy one but it was always over 1200 yen. And there are 105/205/500 yen sections not 125 yen. =)

Congrats to Ayu!!! She could definitely have reached Yuming's record if everything went well last year. but i guess this makes A CLASSICAL's #1 all the more special.

What i saw on Facebook was that:

1. This is the SECOND Classical album to reach the #1 position
2. The FIRST Classical album to reach #1 position on the week it was released

Looking at the thread again, it says BOOKOFF and 125yen. Maybe they made a mistake since another person said they only found one LOVE CD only for 1250yen, so it's likely that whoever marked it made a mistake or it was misread, haha.

Am I the only person who thinks it's weird that in a country of 130,000,000 people, a cd can be number 1 even if only 25,049 people buy it?

Most people aren't music purchasers and if they do they probably use illegal means or legal digital means.

Yeah, I know. It just means that nobody really buys CDs anymore. I just feel it renders the whole chart pretty meaningless.

Japan's best selling album sold 7 million... "only" 5% of the population bought it... It's not like most of the population ever bought music. :P
