IM GOING TO MONTREAL TOUR!! I died a little of excitement when i found out i can't believe it!

marty 12th March 2014 08:13 PM

I'm praying she's going to come here in Italy, so can go see her again! <3

George 13th March 2014 05:28 PM

Oh no... I might watch the show in Boston. If I'm still around the area by then.

GREENsora 13th March 2014 10:50 PM

Me and my friends were able to get tickets for the Vancouver show, I am sooo excited! They sold out within less than 5 hours

Philly!

KremlinChaos 14th March 2014 01:54 AM

I didn't manage to get tickets. Ticketmaster also blocked my IP address because I refreshed the page too many times. I am so pissed. I'll have to try again tomorrow.

George 30th March 2014 04:38 AM

I am so addicted to Born To Die... again. I have been listening to it for weeks now. If Ultraviolence is half as good as Born To Die I'd be happy.

Red, White, Blue's the sky~~

This song leaked of Lana's and its beyond perfect! Its... groovy, LOL. ;)

Minttulatte 4th April 2014 04:40 PM

I prefer her Born To Die era music style but judging by the unreleased tracks she likes to try other genres too so it's interesting to see what this new album will sound like. Meet Me in The Pale Moonlight sounded lovely. :3

For all we know she may not even put any of the tracks that have leaked into the new album, after all she has a lot of unreleased tracks that have leaked on the internet :\.

Minttulatte 10th April 2014 11:37 AM

^I know she probably won't. I just said that the new album may not sound at all like her previous releases. Those unreleased tracks are all so different from each other that the new album might have a completely new sounds for us to talk about. :)

Listening to Born to Die in anticipation for tomorrow!

Tom Punks 14th April 2014 01:01 PM

I really really want an official demo compilation album. I would KILL for National Anthem and Driving in Cars with Boys in lossless. KILL.

Edit: West Coast is out, y'all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3SqUUoJjW8

I'm realllyyy ambivalent on the tempo change in the chorus... The whole song has such a smoky sexy vibe but the slow chorus turns it into typical Lana fare. :( I kinda like it for what it is, but I think it'd perfect at the same tempo as the rest of the song.

I like it, though!

GREENsora 14th April 2014 07:00 PM

I love, love, LOVEE West Coast! It's so different from what I've heard from anyone else in the past few months. Lana just release the album already gosh!

brener 14th April 2014 08:55 PM

it has these guitar strings, loved it =]

Refix 19th April 2014 08:12 AM

Oh she's with Bradley again, its better than her with older rough guys or that albino guy. I like what I hear so far.

NintendoHTF1242 19th April 2014 10:46 PM

The verses in West Coast are so dreadfully awful. But I love the chorus.

George 20th April 2014 05:46 AM

I really liked it. It's very Lana but it gives off a completely different feeling from any song on Born To Die.

marty 22nd April 2014 09:46 PM

^^
Lol, I feel the exact opposite way: I LOVE the verses and I'm struggling a bit with the chorus! XD
But it's lovely. I agree, this is so Lana, yet new. How does this woman manage to do it, every damn time?

brener 1st May 2014 11:51 PM

US album sales: #40 Born To Die, @LanaDelRey 6,000 (1,028,000 total).

George 2nd May 2014 06:01 AM

... Ugh, I realized I don't like West Coast after all. It's just not something I could listen to on repeat.

Isicio 2nd May 2014 09:32 AM

^yes is not a hit, but we don't know yet what the album expects

brener 2nd May 2014 06:54 PM

maybe it's just a buzz single and not the lead single

blackmage 8th May 2014 07:18 AM

Visually West Coast is nowhere as amazing as any of Lana's previous music videos. Its so disconnected with no story. Unless she is going for a juxtaposition between that and the glam/serious/may-december romance or whatever, etc. I do like the beach scene with her walking on the shore having some fun, smiling, laughing. Shows a different side to her. Love the song, but not the video.

NintendoHTF1242 9th May 2014 02:35 AM

Fucked My Way Up to the Top hahaha! Kind of sad she didn't throw Once Upon a Dream on ULTRAVIOLENCE as a bonus track.

GREENsora 9th May 2014 10:28 AM

^Now that you mention it, it is pretty disappointing! For such an amazing song, it hasn't received the exposure it should have; maybe once the movie has been released it will

Refix 17th May 2014 08:18 AM

That's the official cover? A bit down low from her Born To Die album but its better than that fan made.
News from NY Daily News:
"Del Ray's first single, "West Coast," has already been released.
The album will be available on CD, vinyl, digital download and, for
Del Ray superfans, a box set includes a picture disc and four art
prints."
A box set! Awesome!

xLuna&1LOVE 17th May 2014 04:59 PM

^ it is the official cover, apparently.

The album will be released on June 16th says her official website. Her home page has changed to promote Ultraviolence. You can also pre-order the boxset already for 59,99 euros.

https://store.universalmusic.com/med...uxe-BoxSet.jpg

http://lanadelrey.com/

Refix 20th May 2014 05:40 AM

It would be great if she make special box not only with pin up bonuses, also a mug and other collectible item like Ayu does. A mini version of Lana would be too adorable lol

brener 20th May 2014 03:24 PM

nice photoshot =) But the CD only would be enough for me

NintendoHTF1242 20th May 2014 04:22 PM

I misread the price because xLuna used a comma instead of a period to separate the numbers so I thought the box set was $599.99 and was like "wat" LOL but damn $60 for all of that? Not bad actually...

EDIT: jk her website says $100 Lana babe I love you but not that much just gonna buy my CD from Target hopefully they'll have some exclusive bonus tracks lol

Delicious n Bold 20th May 2014 04:58 PM

A bit late but, whatever. I never liked Lana's music, I always thought it was the equivalent of a melatonin ejection. But I love West Coast and I'm excited for her new album very much.

Glamorous_Sky 22nd May 2014 07:48 PM

Lana herself seems really nice and I love her sense of style but I can't really get into her music. She is so pretty though and seems good to her fans.

I'm sorry! I only gave information about how much euros it did cost and totally had forgotten about the US pricing.

I pre-ordered the album and the site says it will be send on June 13th. Would be awesome, because that's my birthday.

Anyway, SHADES OF COOL is available for listening!

There is also a low-recorded version of the song ULTRAVIOLENCE from her tour. The song can be heard in better quality in the album teaser. Here is the teaser:

EDIT: Can't really see the video on this forum, so just in case.. i included the links seperately.

NintendoHTF1242 26th May 2014 08:48 PM

You have to do it like [youtube]cG6iJNufFTo[/ youtube] (remove the space between / and youtube) for it to embed correctly :) Just click on "Share" on YouTube and copy the last part after youtube.com/

Anyway, Shades of Cool is nice. Nothing groundbreaking or anything.

Refix 26th May 2014 08:51 PM

Holy Crap! Shades of Cool is like Blue Jeans episode 2. Love this! And the electric guitar part, give me a eargasmic

GREENsora 28th May 2014 04:03 AM

Went to the Vancouver show just this Sunday (May 25th). She was AMAZINGG! Before the show started we could see her peaking through the curtains towards the crowd, she seemed so shy! I've heard some bad reviews about her singing live, but here she sounded flawless and her voice was immensely powerful. Kudos to her, especially considering she just flew in from Paris (or wherever Kimye got married) and landed that day. At the end of the show she even went down to the first row and took pictures and signed autographs and all that, she's such a sweetheart! :heart

Considering it was general admission, the mosh pit was insane, we barely stayed in there for 10 minutes before we left and sat at the bleachers. And of course there were the drunk girls with their flower crowns pushing through to "reach their friend at the front". It was lightly raining too and pretty cold, all my videos of her performances r so shaky! But overall it was an amazing experience and I suggest if anyone goes to her upcoming ones, I recommend to just sit and get decent seats instead of aiming for the mosh pit (unless u get to the front haha).

xLuna&1LOVE 31st May 2014 02:06 PM

I envy you Greensora! I have heard she sang some songs from Ultraviolence.
Thank you for sharing your experience. You must have had an amazing time.
Lana is great!

GREENsora 5th June 2014 01:59 AM

^It was amazing! I just hope her next tour has proper seating, haha.

anyways, she released Ultraviolence, the song!

NintendoHTF1242 5th June 2014 03:33 AM

The album is really psychedelic so far with all the songs she's officially given us... idk if I'm liking it or not.

AyumiAi 5th June 2014 07:42 AM

^I agree this album is very blues inspired, but Lana is an artist and just experimenting with different influences i think has its merits and through her experimenting she'll maybe make something really cool! If she keeps to her Born to Die era she'll never evolve as an artist X)

Refix 5th June 2014 10:18 AM

Oh, Ultraviolence sounds better than West Coast and Shades of Cool in my ears♥

Damn, I'm not sure if I should get the deluxe box or not. Do we know what's included in it? It all depends on that. :3 Never mind, I figured it out. Nothing that really interests me so I'll just get the Deluxe Edition of CD Only version.

There's nothing wrong with an artist experimenting with their music. I actually like it when an artist grows. It's just that this style of music isn't for me. I'll definitely still end up buying the album and giving these past few songs another try. Maybe they just haven't "clicked" with me yet.

I do hope Ultraviolence will sell as good as Born To Die on the long run =)

tokyoxjapanxfan 5th June 2014 08:17 PM

I'm curious to know what the next promotional single will be. These songs sound great, but not radio friendly. Or at least not Top 20 stuff. I suppose she doesn't really need to go in that direction though haha.

I don't think it will tbh, Born to die had a decent debut because she got a lot of media coverage for Video Games, which is what made her popular, and then Summer Time saddness gave her album more longevity, i find. Where as Ultraviolence doesn't really have any "viral" or "hit" song preceding it, but if a song on it does become popular then yea it could sell well.

George 6th June 2014 01:08 PM

I like the songs but I feel like they're missing something. I don't know. I like the sound, but they don't really do anything for me. It's hard to explain... basically, I don't feel any connection to the songs.

Isicio 6th June 2014 02:32 PM

According to her facebook, the song BROOKLYN BABY will be released tomorrow.

Eventhough I do like the three (four when including the bonus track Black Beauty) new songs from Ultraviolence, it was not easy to get into them. Diehard fans are most likely to order/buy the album anyway, but I do not expect Ultraviolence sell as great as Born To Die.

xLuna&1LOVE 7th June 2014 09:05 PM

NEVERMIND! I found the full audio of BROOKLYN BABY. I take back what I was saying about 'hard to get into the songs'. This song is amazing

Old Money, it made me cry my eyes out, its literally one of the most painful, sobering, and haunting songs lana has ever written I can't even listen to it a lot because i might fall into a depression.

Is this happiness from the itunes bonus track is beautiful
LOOVE "Money power glory"

xLuna&1LOVE 16th June 2014 09:55 PM

^ Listening to the album right now! Old Money is also one of my new favourites. It does remind me of the Romeo and Juliet Theme somehow. Anyway the album is nice, especially for a meltdown or something. But it is really soothing :)

brener 16th June 2014 11:39 PM

WW sales: @LanaDelRey, Born To Die 12,000 (4,690,000 total).

Refix 17th June 2014 09:52 AM

I like the album so far, with all those EDM music rule the world music industry, this album brings a refreshment for my body and soul.
West Coast is still my favorite. Then Shades of Cool, Cruel World (Love the electric guitars session), Brooklyn Girl is cute and a bit whimsical in a good way, Money Power Glory (I thought its gonna be a second episode of National Anthem), Florida Kilos. Still trying to get used with the others.
What I don't get with this album is why she choose to be minimalist with the music? Different from her previous album with a touch of RnB and others. Basically what I heard most is just electric guitars and drum. And mostly they played those instruments really soulful. Is she trying to convince some people that she really can sing? Since there are assumption that a singer who can't sing polished by great music in the song they sing.

Delicious n Bold 17th June 2014 08:29 PM

Gave the album a listen. It didn't really leave an impression on me as I had imagined.
Cruel World is probably my favourite track. I think a 6.5/10 is a good score, factoring in the tripe lyrics but nice production.

I'm pretty sure it actually does sample the theme song of romeo and juliet because the intro is identical in every sense of the way XD, some review mentioned it

xLuna&1LOVE 18th June 2014 10:17 AM

^ I have looked it up and most reviews/information blogs comfirm it is inspired on the Love Theme/ "What is A Youth?" of Romeo and Juliet (1968) Yay, we were right!:bchuck
One site also said the theme is used as reference to Young and Beautiful.

And this is not a coincidence, because What is A Youth? is a sad love song about beauty/youth fading away eventually (probably why young people rush through when it comes to love) Correct me when I am very wrong
Both Lana's songs share the same philosophy. I love how she is using literature, poems and plays as metafors. Little smart-ass girl.

SHADES OF COOL video is out!

I don't want to complain because I am loving Ultraviolence so much. Even though it was already heard in the lyrics, I am not sure how I should feel by this... I could handle the bikers in Ride but this... I don't know. I need a minute. The video is nice, though.

NintendoHTF1242 18th June 2014 11:42 AM

I didn't really enjoy the album all that much tbh. All the tracks before "Sad Girl" are so goddamn boring. But then from Sad Girl onward, I can digest the material a little better. My suspicions were right when I listened to all the pre-released songs; the album is too slow, somber, and psychedelic for me. I prefer her Born to Die/Paradise eras. Maybe I shouldn't have listened to Ultraviolence with the mindset that it could be Born to Die version 2.0? idk. I'm disappointed though.

I think these videos are hard for people who aren't like, used to living in that lifestyle...but to me, it's so refreshing that she just understands it so well.

The idea of beauty, and freedom, and these men that seek out these things and who they are, but also the thoughts and feelings of the girls whose lives are all about being in this moment, and understanding that like she says, she can't really break through into their actual realities.

It's refreshing because no one else talks about these things, and she just nails it with such passion. I love how happy and smiling she is in this one.

I need to go listen to the album, but I don't really care to listen to her songs that much. I prefer her videos.

I loved the album, I had a huge feeling that it was ALL going to be like the pre releases so I cleared all my mind of BTD and just accepted it as a whole new stage in Lana's music totally different

Kouyou 20th June 2014 10:31 AM

^Same. If I had went into this album hoping to hear Born to Die: Part 2, I would've been disappointed as well. I knew it wouldn't be, though, after listening to the pre-releases, so I accepted that beforehand.

I'm really enjoying it, although I do think it's a downer. Born to Die and Paradise were somber at times, but Ultraviolence is somber all the way through. Not an upbeat track to be found.

blackmage 23rd June 2014 06:18 PM

I'm loving Ultraviolence. I think the first half of the album is exceptional while the second half has been more of a grower aside from Old Money.. I bought the deluxe version and I was wondering anyone else that bought it, does Flordia Kilos skip on you? There are no scratches on the CD but anytime I import it, it skips at different areas each time, some worse than others. :(

There are no scratches on the CD but anytime I import it, it skips at different areas each time, some worse than others. :(

I also bought the deluxe edition, however the track that skips around for me is Flipside, while Florida Kilos is fine... Idk why Lana CDs are always having issues lol. Born to Die: Paradise Edition was missing the bonus tracks on the Born to Die disc -__-;

^ :( I still have yet to hear Flipside. I REALLY wish that Lana would just make one deluxe version instead of having an extra song on itunes and then another on the target version.

did you guys listen to "Is this happiness" ? Cuz thats literally one of the best tracks on the album for me even if it is just the itunes bonus track

I bought my ULTRAVIOLENCE copy yesterday, and I'm listening to it like there's no tomorrow. IT'S GLORIOUS.
West Coast, Brooklyn Baby, Money, Power, Glory, Shades of Cool and Old Money OWN me. And her voice in The Other Woman! Actually, HER VOICE IN EVERY SINGLE TRACK, LIKE, HOLY CRAP!!
My baby Lanabanana did it again.
PS: She MUST come to Italy with her tour again, I need to see her singing these beauties in front of me.

It was the best itunes purchase ever. I love that song.

However, Brooklyn Baby has me coming back all the time. It is so infectious.

Does anyone know if there's a place where I could find fan remixes of Lana's songs? When I do a Soundcloud search I'm lucky to get anything that's actually Song X Remix like I typed in the box, most of the results page is remixes, covers or standard versions of random Lana songs.

I just finished listening to a huge collection of Lana's unreleased songs, so many gems there. Now I'm hoping that Ultraviolence demos leak one day, on many lovely songs they did things to her voice that I dislike.

... I listened to the album once or twice. I can't remember. I don't know. I'll listen to it later and maybe I'll like it more.

You could try YouTube. Lana Del Rey has a lot of great trap remixes that are fan-made. This is my favorite!

Honestly, I keep hovering over Ultraviolence in iTunes trying to pick a song to listen to; but there isn't anything I want to listen to... So I just listen to Born to Die lol.

That remix! So so interesting... I have to listen to it a few times to see if I actually like it or not. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the elements.. but it sounds too happy-go-lucky cabaret.

There are tons of trap remixes for Lana out there on YouTube. I adore her voice with trap backdrops. Here's another one of my favorites, maybe you'll like this one better than the West Coast one?

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to start doing different kinds of searches; I see Trap Nation has a remix of Serial Killer, one of my favourite unreleased songs.

Born to Die just doesn't get old, I can still listen to it the whole way through.

Ultraviolence is such a great album. I still need to make myself go to YouTube and search for Is This Happiness? because I haven't heard that one yep. Flipside is really good. One of my favorites (you can listen to it on Spotify if you want). Only song that I really don't appreciate is Guns and Roses which feels a little bit boring to me but otherwise this album is amazing. I really enjoy listening to it. :)

On the third episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show, Jessica Lange did a cover of Gods and Monsters, and I gotta say... It's pretty amazing.

Refix 27th October 2014 10:40 PM

True, although she can't get that sorrow-sexy-orgasmic vibe like Lana does.

NintendoHTF1242 27th October 2014 11:46 PM

Good cover. I feel like Lana Del Rey's music could easily be incorporated into the entire American Horror Story series lol idk why I think that but it just seems like it could work.

I've been listening to Ultraviolence a bit more lately. The title song is one of my favorite tracks. Old Money is still good, as well.

Maemi 31st October 2014 05:46 PM

This is amazing!

Refix 10th November 2014 03:44 PM

Ah I really hoped Lana could win this year EMA. And why did she only get one nomination!? WTH!
