Yeah. I think this... who can tell her first works are old... but the rest I could change and play up with current music and it sounds the same, not dated at all...

What does sound date is her sound itself. She hasn't enough for me. I feel like Love Songs - Love Again could all be in the same era. Even party queen which sounds so different from Love Songs seems to fit into the basic theme of everything that she is doing...
Its been a LONG three years, but hopefully we are going into new directions.

okay sis, i love u but lets be real: those covers are srsly below Ayu's standard.

It was too mich, there were people going on every Ayu thread of the forum to complain about them, you just couldn't talk about anything else because sooner or later someone started it all over again.

Fucking preach it sister.

Of course AHS had a major melt-down when she released Shitrise/Shitset. Those covers were AWFUL. That was the beginning of Ayu's fall. But she picked herself up somewhat with Love songs, then threw herself down again.

I disagree. Her latest songs have been fine to me. They don't sound dated and haven't aged badly so far. There are of course some ayu songs that get dated.
Some songs that take you on a trip to the past doesn't necessarily feel dated though. Bruno Mars' "Treasure" was, for me, a Michael Jackson fan, a real good trip for Off The Wall / thriller period. The sound isn't really 2013 trendy but it somehow still sound nice to be played in this year. Same goes for the first part of the 20/20 Justin Timberlake album released this year.

I feel extra for saying this, but can someone link me to the part of the forum where people had major meltdowns for the sunrise/sunset covers?

Well, there was that announcement that she fired her old team ("let go" :rolleyes) and the You were... covers were like a shining ray of light.

Shimoko did that. I wish ND CHOW were attached instead.

Also, BnD, it's in Ayu Music News in the Sunrise cover thread.
