Shounen Shoujo is just freaking amazing and might turn out to be my favorite song by Miliyah, seriously. I'm so happy she is doing a bit different stuff and not just what's the most popular thing recently.

Miliyah is the best. I dont like every song by her but she has outdone herself, its just sad that japanese people don't appreciate artistic growth. This should be supported rather than Namie (Namie is my favourite J-Pop artist btw)

Fashion sounds amazing, the rest of the single sounds boring but it will grow on me as always lol.

I wasn't too sure about Shonen Shojo but it's a grower, I like it a lot now (not too fond of the last part but oh well)

They haven't. The verses are about girls and boys having a bad time. (An ugly girl, who is smart and all the pretty girls are jealous of her skills, but at the same time people pity her for her ugliness and no man loves her). The chorus are encouraging ("Boys, girls, run! Sweat, cry and shine! Boys, girls, run! Clench your fist and shine!"). The general message is "this era is very unforgiving, but keep trying".

About the last part of Shounen Shoujo, I also hoped that it's just for the PV because it kind of sounded like it is, but then again I'm not sure (I don't really like it, but the rest of the song just overshadows it so I didn't really pay that much attention at the fact that just the last part of the song isn't great). Has the official length for the song been posted anywhere?

I was expecting some death metal or something from this ending, but it's just her singing with a choir? lol didn't really like the choir part but the very last few seconds is beautiful. I'm actually pleasantly surprised. Haven't followed her since HEAVEN lol.

To be honest all of her albums are amazing, and it's impossible to know which album will click with you first the best, so I think the best thing to do when trying out any artist is to make sure you've listened to everything they've released (meaning you make sure you have all their albums and then randomly listen to any songs you can). I don't think this is such a big deal in this age seeing as getting Miliyah's albums shouldn't be difficult at all. (Beside, if you're really curious about her music, I don't think this should be such a problem.)

Basically if you're patient enough, you will definitely like almost anything Miliyah has put out by now. The way I do it is always get an artist's latest album and start from there, then build up until their first album. Or you could simply start with singles, or watch some PVs first to determine which single/album would be the best for you to try out. I think Miliyah is definitely worthy of giving her extensive tries and downloading most of her stuff. She writes her own music for the most part and her voice is unique and great compared to a lot of Jpop artists, as well as take note that most of her music is produced a lot better than a lot of other Jpop stuff (her albums sound good and got at least some of the dynamics left untouched).

While a lot of people might suggest HEAVEN, I personally disliked that album when I heard it a first few times, point being that everyone's tastes are different. And you probably know by now that the first album you try by any artist is likely to make a big first impression of them, and will have greater chances of ending up with being your favorite by that artist because it was after all your first encounter with their music.

All I'm saying is that, knowing Miliyah's discography extensively, there is literally no wrong album you can go with for a first try. So basically, have fun exploring! And if the first album you chose to try is the one you don't really like, don't give up just yet. You'll be really happy that you didn't in the end.

^true. I suggest HEAVEN beacuse it had the song that were really easy to get into, despite songs like Silent Ocean. i would also have said Ring, but like all her albums uo to HEAVEN, it had some very weak songs which I still can't remember. LOVELAND also wanst her best effort in that sense to me.

Another way to get into her is, to create a playlist of a recent tour (M BEST, HEAVEN) and listen to that.

HEAVEN is her most flawless album. Has everything you could ever want out of a flawless Japanese album.
