I agree. Everyone has their own ideas while listening to songs and having a video can restrict that image since there is an official video. I was sad Terminal didn't get a video but in the end, I still have my imagination and what it could look like so that's fine :)
Oh and also the ideas we as fans for a video have are most of the time really different from what Ayu does in the end so even if we have an idea it wouldn't be realized and that is also kinda sad~

I've been pleasantly surprised by this album! :) It does feel a little incomplete as a package, but the songs individually are a godsend after LOVE again and I'm just so glad that she finally broke the peach-magazine-shot-CD-cover trend. :weep The PVs are incredibly bad to the point that it's not even amusing anymore, but I gave up on her PVs years ago so I'm not really disappointed :spazzed

well when he played it on internet radio it was actually pretty short. It was only around 3-4 minutes long.

I love everyone here but you guys are straight up tripping when you say this album is bad. It's different, but the tracks are still really good. Then again, the last Ayu album I I've seen get a really positive review was Secret.

^ Love songs got overwhelmingly positive support when it was released. I've never seen this forum be so unanimous on an album's quality before.

^I think it's because it flowed so well. All the songs worked so cohesively. Her albums usually differ like I am... with Dearest and Connected, NEXT LEVEL with curtain call and rollin', Colours with Pray and Terminal, (miss)understood with Bold & Delicious and is this LOVE?, blah blah blah I could name everything in her discography to compare. I'm pretty sure she doesn't decide on an album theme until the last single before the album, because even with interludes plenty of times, the songs are all over the place genre-wise.

I absolutely love Love Songs. Everything just works.

I don't really have a problem with the PVs because they are not the selling point for me in buying an album.

I really liked Lelio and I found Angel amusing at least. I haven't seen all of XOXO but it just looks like another one of her parodies. Overall, I'm satisfied with the PVs. But then again I'm not hard to please so my opinion might not mean anything.

@ayumisrael I have some doubts about Recochoku Ranking, they release numbers around 6AM (Tokyo Time) and the numbers are from the couting day, unlike Oricon that release numbers from the day before. Colours was digitally released on a Wednesday (6/18) and will be physically released also on a Wednesday (7/2), but on generasia we always start updating from a Tuesday. I'm a bit confused :@

just a little trivia.. i just found out that her black dress for angel PV is from indonesian designer collection, Tex Saverio, he's pretty well known for his designs. some international artists have also seen wearing his designs, eg lady gaga, jennifer lawrence as katniss in the movie also wearing his collection. im quite proud for ayu to wear a gown from indonesian designer :)

I need a new album already...I like Colours but it all came at once...we probably won't get any new Ayu music until the end of the year. I miss the days when she already had a follow up single prepared or even announced before the release of an album.

Wow... "Love Songs" was actually the point where I noticed a big drop in quality in her albums. "Secret," "GUILTY," and "NEXT LEVEL" were all amazing. "RnRC" was the first album she ever released where I just straight up didn't like a song (and it was only 1 song), then I didn't like 4 songs on "Love Songs" at all. On "Party Queen" I straight up didn't like 9 songs. On "Love Again" there were 11 songs I didn't like. At least on "Colours," I like 6 out of 10. Sorry, I'm ranting

I loved absolutely everything from A Song for XX through NEXT LEVEL. Every single song. Some of them, I've grown out of now and don't really care for, but I liked them all at one point. It wasn't until after NEXT LEVEL that I think her quality really started tumbling.

Maybe Ayu's strategy is to continuously release shitty music so that her previous shitty release looks and sounds better by comparison.

This is the theory I follow every time Ayu releases an album, starting with NEXT LEVEL.

NEXT LEVEL release, "Wow this album is so stupid and shitty Ayu should never do electro ever again!"

Rock'n'Roll Circus release, "Wow this album is too dark and has no theme Ayu should go back to NEXT LEVEL elctro that music was genius!"

Love songs release, "Wow this is like old-school Ayu but where is the dark rock Ayu from Rock'n'Roll Circus that was genius"

From the pictures you can't tell she's wearing something so pretty. It looks like she's ready to go jogging rather than walking down a runway.

I'm pretty sure we'll be able to see Alvin Goh's work better on the pictures from the album's booklet, but it's funny how he, as the stylist and creative director, chose covers that not only do not show what's the styling he chose for her, but also are not really creative...
He said on interviews he would change her usual image, but he made covers that are pretty much the same as most of all her other covers: very simple closeups of her face.

gosh that Versace thing... i never understood why Donatella took over the fashion house after her brother was killed, she has 0 talent in this. Her designs are quite trashy and always looks cheap, doesn't speak of high fashion to me at all. I mean WTF is that outfit....*frowns* I never understood. My favourite PV out of all these is Lelio, it's not everyday you get to see Ayu dance in her PV :) I really miss her artistic PVs where there would be frequent costume changes and creative sets, as most of her recent PVs are really plain with no creative elements at all, i.e. Angel.

Anw, I think Terminal is the best song in this album IMHO.

Now I'm really excited for the CD+Bluray! :)

You know what makes me mad? The fact that Jasmine and Crystal Kay have had songs on their EDM-influenced albums that are so much better than the ones Ayu has had produced by these "international DJs". XOXO is just dreadful for a REDONE production... He has had some REALLY great songs (Live It Up / J.Lo | Nicole Scherzinger's solo album works - and I REALLY dislike Nicole!). It's a real shame...

Although my problem (though minimal) with Xoxo is the lyrics, not the music. I actually find the music ok. The lyrics are the tacky part though. Oh well, it's supposed to be that way I suppose. The video is just as tacky. I think she was going for that.

I actually think XOXO sounds a lot like Gaga's first album. I can feel RedOne's touch on it, even if it was just his team working on it. That doesn't really say too much because I'm not a big fan of his works haha but I love XOXO.

I hope she will surprise us with some television promo for this...though in reality, she'll probably be a plane to LA as soon as the showcase is finished.

I miss those Ultra HD TV performances =( She could at least do one peformance per release.
