Recut single is when a single is released after the album has been released. Like she did with appears/Kanariya/Fly high or Audience & Daybreak etc.

They usually have a bunch of remixes.

Now that I think about it, I could see why anyone would be surprised to have this song of all the songs on Colours to be turned into a single. It is unlike most of the singles she has ever released in terms of arrangement, lyrical content, and overall feeling. In my opinion, if you had asked me which songs I suspected from Colours would be turned into a single, I would have expected something like Hello New Me/XOXO (ignoring the fact that Hello New Me is a digital single...).

Because this seems like such a unique and rather daring choice for her, I think it's actually pretty cool. Will it prove to be a huge waste? Possibly.

I'm not a fan of trance music and I really liked how the instrumentation builds up some tense atmosphere, reverbered by the lyrics. I think it's a good piece of music.

I feel the same. Normally, I'd agree with others' opinion about the instrumental going for too long (and I actually did at first) but after listening to the song a few times, the instrumentals stopped feeling excessive and rather began feeling quite thrilling and suspenseful, and with the implications of pain and darkness that the lyrics give to the song, "Terminal" ends up like a wonderful story told in sounds and a few sentences.
"Terminal" is one of those songs that prove to me that music is a media much more similar to movies and books than we think; each song tells a story even if some may be very superficial and fleeting, and "Terminal"'s story happens to feel very deep and penetrating to me. But I can understand that, as with all types of media, this story is not for everyone, nor does everyone necessarily think the music conveys any kind of proper story at all to them. But that's the beautiful versatility of art, I guess. :)

I prefer new music, I don't see good sales for a re-cut single.

I know this is extremely unlikely, but it would be nice if they added a new song to it. But, like I said, I doubt that will be the case.

Her team is Japanese, except if shes shooting in America, which is just usually the director and a couple of stage hands. The song if true it will most likely will be left with Armin van Buuren for the better sounding remix's, then you will have some crappy sounding remix's done to make up a decent amount of tracks. If true I would imagine it to look sort of like her Re-released Maxi CD's. And we dont even know if it will be a connected style PV or M above & beyond mix style PV or even a normal PV (Pray for not a normal PV). I would imagine that the PV would be a bit more interesting if she gets Armin van Buuren influence to it. But she still hasn't announced anything .

I don't get why people don't try asking on twitter. If enough ask and its not true I'm sure she would hopefully say something if she saw a lot of confusion around it. But this single my not even be targeted at her Asian audience. All we know is someone posted on a fan site and the fans went crazy, with no more comments from For"A"ver Club to verify where they saw it.

Some people on AHS were discussing whether "Terminal" was largely inspired by that track and after I looked it up on YouTube I decided to buy those two versions of "Brute".

You should look up the version with the drums! I always kinda liked Brute, but felt it was missing something. Then Armin started throwing this updated mix into his sets which included drums and it was EXACTLY what the song needed.

Well with Armin's name attached to it, and with proof that he is dropping it in sets, it isn't unlikely for larger DJs, especially within the trance field, to remix this track. Stoneface & Terminal, Tritonal, Jerome Isma-ae, Photographer, Alexander Popov, Cosmic Gate, Andy Moor, Markus Schulz, Jochen Miller... anyone of these names would be a great addition to a remix single. Ferry Corsten would be great, but I don't recall him doing a ton of remixing lately.

It would be weird for her to do a drizzly single after all these years. Especially since they were like "Germany/Belgium" only releases.

I don't see Drizzly as a possibility, but it could be possible that Armin will release this track with remixes.

She's Japanese. She sings in Japanese. Her album was released in Japan. Why wouldn't she release a single in Japan rather than 2 unrelated countries that don't know Japanese?

Especially "Connected" did remarkably well in Germany, "Terminal" as remix single has a lot of potential. I guess trance music is more of a Western thing, right now. That's where it originated from (trance experts may correct me). The time when every second J-Pop artist would provide their discography with trance remixes is over or that's what I thought.

However, a physical release in Europe and a world wide digital release would be possible, too. Avex knows best. They could always come up with a physical Japanese release, simultaneously or afterwards.

Honestly, I think this single will never ever be released... not at all.

Why not... if it's not possible, then the drizzly singles and vinyls would not exist in the 1st place. I know the last drizzly are long ago stuffs but hey, that's exactly how long since she had an original trance song. But we shall see if there is truly any single coming out.
(If you still think a recut single is a good promotion or if avex/ayu are interested in promoting, you might be in the wrong era.)

His A State of Trance compilations are usually in a continuous mix format, so it won't be unmixed (ie. proper for dj'ing with - it will be more like the first issue of ayu-mi-x 7; the unextended versions).

I think that's shorter than the mixes we have floating around already? Another thing I am wondering is whether or not this is a studio mixed comp or live recorded. With his "Universal Religion" comps, they are usually recorded live (crowd cheers and all). ASOT comps are usually studio mixed, but this is not the same as his yearly ASOT compilations (as the 2014 comp has already been released). This comp is titled "Compilation ‘A State Of Trance at Ushuaia, Ibiza 2014’" so it very well may be a recording of him playing live sets. If that is the case, the rips we have from his radioshow are already better than the version that will appear on this compilation.

It is interesting to note though that Armin has given Ayu full credit on the track - no "Armin van Buuren feat. Ayu" or vice versa - simply "Ayu". This leads me to believe that he won't be releasing this track himself in a remix package along with remixes by fellow labelmates/trance DJs.

I listened to the preview (an album only purchase!). I think it is that version we got of Terminal back in May or June where the track had some guy talking on it like he was on the radio.

As to whether or not this will be a real release, I just have no opinion. There's a part of me that thinks it could be possible, but a part of me that sees why people think it couldn't be...

according to "avex style", this single mostly won't happen, coz they usually will announce it VERY early, like recently 2 months earlier for Kuu's HOTEL, or 3 months earlier for ayu's Colours, etc

but i still hope Terminal pv will exist, maybe she can put it on new song single like what she did in STEP you single
