Wtf, us is so good, I'm just sitting here gaping and putting it on repeat. Rock gods have truly blessed us, I want 15 more songs like this, this is easily the best Aimer song I've heard yet, hot damn. The atmosphere, the vocals, the production, the progression, it's all so goooood. And the other two songs on the single too! Tbh, I find insane dream the least noteworthy of the bunch because it's the most generic track on the single, but it's still good, and Aimer and Taka work really well together. tone is amazing as well, I thought it was the weakest of the three in the beginning, but I think the song really takes off after the first chrous as the drums come in, and the fuller sound elevates it to a new level. Ahh, so happy I decided to randomly check out this single, Aimer is on top of her game. :heart

Totally agree. us is definitely the best from the single but man, she really did release an amazing single. And I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's excited.
If you like us you should check Dareka, umi wo. It has a similar atmosphere but less rockish. |
^ Thanks for the recommendation, but I actually already know Dareka, Umi wo. from back when it came out, and I... don't really like it, something about the song's plodding pace and heavy arrangement is just too much for me. Not sure what makes me like us so much then, since the atmosphere is similar, as you said. :laugh

insane dream/us single is really good. insane dream can be considered as a generic rock track, it just sounds so great to me. us is Dareka, Umi wo epsiode II. As it was the song that brought me into Aimer's world, I can't hate us. Tone is the weakest song of the single to me. I like the pared-down arrangement but the song is one minute too long for me.
Chouchou Musubi seems to be very forgettable after this fabulous single. |

It seems that Aimer is releasing a new album "daydream" on October 16! It's not confirmed yet but all her rumours (Dareka Umi wo.., Brave Shine, DAWN, ninelie etc.) have come true.

She never was on a TV show? That's odd after 5 years and several songs used as anime theme.
It's interesting that she want to leave the night theme and her titles (insane dream and daydream) are linked to the night in a certain way at the same time (as usually you dream during the nigh when you are sleeping). It's as if she doesn't want to quit this world brusquely and doesn't want to wake up immediately. |
Exactly. She's taking one step at a time. This is huge for her carrer considering we couldn't even see her face until 2013 or 2014. Whenever there was a Live at anywhere, they would film her in such a way that they never captured her face. This was either a strategic move, to reveal her slowly to the public eye as the night theme fades away, or maybe she simply wasn't comfortable with this kind of exposure.

Am I the only one who think that the first part of Chouchou Musubi and the part with RADWIMPS's guy are like two different songs put together? The little intro is beautiful and very alternative style. Such a shame that's so short. |

I honestly believe Aimer just get's better with each release. There's yet to be a song of hers I don't like xD I mean, of course, some songs are weaker than others, but she's been a constant play on my rotation since I first heard RE: I AM several months ago. I'm so happy to've found her. She's amaaaaaaaazing.

daydream is a good album. However none of the songs really surprised me as they sound as sister of her previous singles. As expected when I listened to the preview Higher Ground and Stars in the rain are among my favourite new songs with Kowairo and Closer (even if this one is definitely Insane dream episode 2).
The songs I like the least are for lonely with Abe Mao and Hz. Her new album might be my favourite album. Being a fan of Natsume Yuujincho, the new song (that will surely be a ballad) have to be great. The first episode'll be broadcast on 4th October. I can't wait!!! |

Interesting fact about "ninelie" that one Aimer fan posted on facebook.

I was about to say the same about Hana no Uta. I feel that Aimer's vocals don't really fit the song, but it's just a preview so we'll see.

Aimer sounds like stretching her voice here and she's singing not in her normal (alto) voice, instead she's singing higher (soprano) voice. Maybe she's singing in lower tone during the chorus but who knows. |
oooooooooh Aimer and Kajiura. Did not know this was happening. I just really got into Kalafina this year after watching the Kara no Kyoukai movies and so this just makes me happy. I actually like the previews for everything. xD I pretty much love everything Aimer releases though.
