I didn't care at all about Summer of Love but Winter of Love is quite interesting. I'm actually excited about it.
I love the covers, much better than precious compilation's covers even if it doesn't look winterish. I hope the 2 new ballads will be good!
It would have been nice if she included some non single ballads like Rain (which is quite popular for example) and make a PV for it.

On the other hand, this year release pattern makes me wonder if Kumi will ever release a single again.

And as they already revealed with the goods, the main colour for this concert is white. That's probably why the curtains are white as well. So yeah, black and white interludes might be.

Oh, I hadn't noticed it! She dis use a second smaller stage on Black Cherry Tour final, for encore iirc, so maybe she's doing it again? It's a way for getting closer to the audience and still have a bigger stage for bigger acts

Overall, many good songs and even some surprises here'. The songs I don't like are not bad, they're just not my piece of cake but a good performance can make it up for it... So, yes, I love it! I would have just added more first things era songs, there were many more post-UNIVERSE songs than I was expecting, but it ain't such a bad thing also

I feared she would do much of the overperformed classics - but we already had her 10th Anniversary and Fantasia for that, so I think it's a great move from her including so many more recent songs.

Our friend Tony James attended the 15th Anniversary LIVE: The Artist and we are happy to share his thoughts on the experience:

"I just saw Koda Kumi's 15th anniversary show: The Artist, in Osaka. I wanted to share a few highlights from the concert with you.

Before the concert they had the camera going around the stands and they would instruct the fans to do funny things. If you were the best you would get a Christmas present. Eventually they were having couples give each other kisses. They shined the camera on two guys and told them to kiss and they ended up doing it. So they won and got their Christmas present, which was front row seats!

The concert started out with Koda Kumi singing her new ballad. It was really beautiful. After a few introduction songs the concert was broken up into 3 sections of what makes Koda Kumi the artist she is. The three sections were: the voice, the dancer, and the entertainer. They would show a video and interview with Kumi before each section. The Voice section was really beautiful and Koda Kumi came out in an extremely long white dress that they projected beautiful lights, stars, and flowers on. She also performed another one of her new songs On and On.

The dance section was my favorite. She performed a new song, which I think she called Cupcake (she said Buttercup a lot in the song too, there was a really good rap part from a guy.)

Then for the entertainment section (this was the encore) she did a mix of a few songs and rode around on a cart.

She showed a few seconds of a new music video. I can't remember which song it was for but I believe she said there would be two versions, one for the phone and one normal size. The video was koda kumi taking selfies and scrolling through instagram.

My favorite part was that she said she will keep singing, maybe even go to a 30 year anniversary. She joked and had a lot of fun with the audience which was really cool to see.

They're really strict about pictures and videos at the concert but there are a few on my instagram @toeknee1018 from before the concert. I'll be attending the concert in Tokyo too so hope to have some more. Hope this information is helpful"

No to the ballad; it's completely void of any type of "winter" atmosphere. Ugh, missed opportunities. Serve us something more developed please. This song doesn't paint any type of strong visual for me. It's like someone playing a piano. At least Ayu's JEWEL paints a picture of snow falling in suspended animation. This song doesn't demand a context, which is disappointing.

Pros:

• The concept is pretty cool, way better than FANTASIA, and the concert overall seems better than FANTASIA as well;
• Most of the songs are upbeat;
• Love the fact that she sang the songs from WINTER of LOVE. Also, I'm happy with those songs: Crazy 4 U, you, Uta wa Waga Inochi, You're so Beautiful, HOTEL, Lay Down, TABOO, UNIVERSE, Birthday Eve, with your smile, IN THE AIR.

Cons:

• Bambi? TOUCH DOWN? Won't be long?..... CRANK THA BASS? Really girl?
• The complet disregard of her songs before 2005, with few exception of Crazy 4 U, TAKE BACK and walk. Not even a medley with the old songs? That's a major turn off.

I don't really like the preview ;-;

The setlist surprised me, so that's a good sign!

Ai no Uta performances are ALWAYS amazing, I'll never get tired of these performances. FNS Kayosai performance was beautiful. I liked that arrangement very much. :heart

i just hate the way she sings this song live now. she's always pushing the vocals back in the rhythm, dragging them out to be more dramatic or something. it makes me crazy!! the original is brighter, and her vocals spring off the arrangement underneath. when did she start performing it this way? its been going on for a while, and it just makes me go a bit squirrelly to hear it. it just sucks the energy right out of it.
