If you ask me, she looked like someone who has a serious midlife crisis and is desperately trying to look like a teen a couple of times now.
It's perfectly fine that she isn't 20 anymore and I would love to see her in a more mature way more often. This obsession with youth is driving me crazy.

I was more talking about plastic surgery. Without make up she looks her age. Sometimes even with, depending on the angle, lighting etc.
I don't mind if she wears some cute accessories as long as it isn't overkill. There's no reason to stop liking cute things just because you're an adult.

What gets to me more are some of her lyrics, like You & Me and now Summer Love. Those don't seem like lyrics a woman in her 30s would write. Although she may be writing about things that happened in her 20s or even in her teens.

I think she might be dipping into a friend's experiences for things like Summer Love. IIRC, didn't some of her lyrics sometimes go into that? I don't recall exactly where but I remember her saying that sometimes that is where her inspiration came from for lyrics.

^ Yeah she said that not all of her lyrics are about herself and her own experience but that she gets inspiration from her friends too.
I don't mind her "mindless" lyrics, i think listening to music just to have fun is fine too, and her being 37 isn't a big deal, i think in her head she's both a young girl wanting to have fun and an old lady tired with the world at the same time haha

It's not really that they are mindless. They have some deep, or at least deeper, thoughts woven into them. It's just weird. Songs like July 1st or Greatful days aren't as juvenile, despite the fact that she was much younger back then. Perhaps I would think differently if I would actually listen to those songs, but as of now I don't feel them.

Lyrics like Summer love may sound a bit "silly" for a women of her age but if you think about it although we age we always keep our youthful soul and Ayumi never hidden this part of her ! And honestly I prefer she write lighter lyrics with meaning like these instead of non sens/vulgar lyrics about sex/drugs/alcools or egocentric/look how I'm the queen etc...

^Yeah, I think lyrics like Summer Love seem more nostalgic/wistful rather than immature. This conversation makes me think back to her CNN interview, which granted was 10 years ago so her views could have changed, where she says something like she'll feel like a child forever.

I loved the show! So happy she sang some of my all time favourites (BRILLANTE, INSPIRE, Endless sorrow) and love all the new album tracks and new arrangements.

ayu tried miming the "uh la lai~" bits in until that Day... but missed her first queue and got her mic to her mouth too late and just decided to not bother after that, it was pretty hilarious.

Aside from that vocally she was good and seemed to have a lot of fun.

Alvin Goh? Perhaps. She is still using some of his outfits. He was mostly a "guest stylist" however.

Actually I don't mind she write a song like Summer Love. One thing I like her is that her lyrics cover a wide range of different aspects. Summer Love might seem teens-like but it might resonate in some people's inner 乙女心.

It's just weird that some of her lyrics from 10 and more years ago seem more mature. Boys & Girls to me is a better song about falling in love than Summer Love is. At least lyrically. Haven't listened to the song yet. Perhaps in the context of everything, melody, arrangement, voice, I will feel different. But it's only those two lyrics, though. I don't mind Sunset or Summer diary, though some Japanese fans seem to mind the lyrics to those two.

What is this about?

Ayu apparently split things off with Alvin Goh after he really pissed her off in Macau. Something about meeting Madonna potentially but not really getting to see her... and some other things.

^ I thought it was rumored that they had split over some party that he said would be small and then the cameras showed up and he basically paraded her around?

I would imagine it was a combination of a bunch of things. Ugh, Alvin...

I guess he abused her trust then? Poor her.

^ I lot of people in the forum felt like he was using her even way before the whole thing happend and Ayu dumped him. They saw him for the snake he was from the beggining. It's just sad Ayu helself didn't see it. She must have been so hurt.

And she seems to love JJ after all.

He first helped with the gorgeous Harper's Bazaar shoot for Hong Kong's HB and then he helped her with Colours' styling along with PREMIUM SHOWCASE's styling as well. Little things there and there as well like some CDL outfits and so on up until the La Perla lingerie shoot that was styled by him and shot by ND CHOW.

It is possible he'll work with her again but all he really likes to do it seems is toot that he's working with X or Y.

It is not official, but she deleted him from all her social media... however she barely has anyone on social media anymore.

I find his work with Ayu to be good sometimes but sometimes really overly 'slick' or blah.

In a lot of stuff he forced his aesthetic onto her which was flat and slicked back hair when it didn't really work for her compared to the "bigger" hair like in the La Perla lingerie shoot.

I see. He seems to make good things, but all in all he mostly does it to show off? He tries to use the people he works with?

Even if he forced his aesthetics on her, at least he isn't the excessive face touching fetishist. lol But really, I hope she finds someone who gets her.

Talking about ND CHOW, I guess it would be nice if he'd shoot the MIJ album. He is one of those who seems to get her.

he's a pretty well known stylist in the industry, but he mostly does high fashion editorial stuff, i love him for that but, yeah, some of his stuff is a bit off when it comes to Ayu. BUT, i would not mind her looking overly slicked rather than what we always get, same old natural/casual Ayu. She deserves some diva stuff, tbh.

I think she looks late 20s-mid 30s to most people.

However, she does look her age in certain photos in horrid lighting. AKA EVERY SINGLE PIC FROM SNEAKY PHOTOGS IN TOURS. I mean, it really isn't hard to get a bad photo of someone that's performing, lol.

Going by the report you posted, it seems to be the short kimono-like outfit.

I like the outfits overall. Though they're not like, wow I love these.
I like that this tour seems to be more toned down. Or at least the reports so far make it seem like it isn't overly choreographed, no large props etc.

Wow most of the looks for this tour looks like s**t. Kinda prefer the outfits she had on the countdown.

But the album is nice, the setlist looks okay... The only thing I really don't wanna see is that there will be too many dancers on stage...

Costumes are definitely more toned down this time around, a lot less ballgowny and a lot more simplistic. I like the LaPerla outfit!

I think the white one is nice but it looks flimsy. Kimono tend to be a bit more solid looking while the one she has for this is a bit floppy like it's not made of a thick enough fabric.

Could it be that only the pink balls are autographed this time? I saw many different color balls on instagram, but only pink ones with autograph.

I only saw green ball without autograph, it went at an auction site for 3500 Yen.
There is currently a pink one with autograph on yahoo, it is at 44.000 YEn allready. normally autograph balls sell for arround 13k-25k max

It looks like she focus a lot on the show that she don't give a shoot on the costumes. Like her Imma wear whatever you guys made for me. At her level I'm surprised she doesn't wanna start wearing custom designer clothes. She has the money.

I think it is more about comfort recently.

Not like she doesn't like luxury brands but performing in them is another story.
