More news!

Kuu is going to be at Music Fair in July to perform Hibari Misora's 歌は我が命.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...921/z8isYu.png

Kuu also revealed new sunglasses in her last post and story to be part of her a-nation goods this year.

Corvina 15th June 2019 09:51 AM

The Rugby World Cup song is called Eh Yo.

Seems to have a marching band sound.
It's reported to be a powerful song and Kuu performed in front of a lot of people.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/6...923/qxSudZ.png

Yesterday it was raining heavily in Osaka and it was supposed to rain today as well, but Kuu was like "woman power, it's going to be sunny tomorrow!" yesterday (晴れ女 in Japanese, a term for a woman who turns the weather sunny when she goes out).
And it was indeed great weather just till the event was over and now it's raining cats and dogs. :laugh

Hopefully they release the song as a (digital) single.
Reading some comments from people attending today and seems about 90% of the visitors were there for Kuu, haha.

This rugby player, who took part today as well, says Kuu helped gaining followers and that's good for rugby, aw.

TV report!

Thanks to the Twitter user.
Sadly the announcer is speaking over the song.
But sounds pretty melodic.

And another one:

Here you clearly here a part of the song!

He says Kuu's popularity is really awesome and they gonna get the cup.

Here's another article:
https://www.lmaga.jp/news/2019/06/69496/

Kuu explained today, that the title Eh Yo is a similar word combination as えーやん (eh yan), which is Kansai dialect for 'very good'.

Corvina 15th June 2019 02:09 PM

Info from her FC.
Eh Yo is going to be released digitally July 3rd!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...922/dGiXyI.jpg

They also shot a CM publicly at the event today.
I have no idea how this went like, but they release that CM soon as well.

Gustavopc 15th June 2019 02:31 PM

OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR JULY ALREADYYYYY

I just noticed she used #thisismybest in the three post (so far) she made about today. Why do I feel like that could be the title for an upcoming all time best...?

Hahaha, no, 'this is my best' is part of the lyrics of the song in the chorus (and I have to say I love that chorus!).
There's a long PR recording of her performance out on the net. Kenji wrote the song, Kuu the lyrics.

Gustavopc 15th June 2019 04:14 PM

Oh great, that keeps my hopes up for a new studio album :laugh
Great to hear she worked with Kenji again, it warms my heart hahaha

Corvina 15th June 2019 04:29 PM

Ok, finally found the full original video:

"This is my best" is the synopsis of the song.

I was thinking about the summer that 4 hot wave was released, and I got super nostalgic.

At the time, to be honest, I was irked that Kuu was selling more than Ayu (I was pretty stanny at the time), but looking back on it, it wasn’t real haha. I loved Kuu too. It was more of an envious feeling I guess.

But anyway, that single has a huge memory in my heart for that summer. What a great time in J-POP...

Corvina 16th June 2019 06:11 AM

Full radio rip of Eh Yo:

pedronekoi 16th June 2019 06:40 AM

She looks amazing as always <3

Corvina 16th June 2019 07:42 AM

Don't know if you notice, but the strings she recorded are in this song (the part we heard is in the chorus).

This is my best, this is your best, 未来へ (for the future)♪

Really looking forward to the HQ version of the song!

melissalove 16th June 2019 09:16 AM

I’m really liking the new song. I guess we’re gonna get a summer song after all. Hurray!!

kaled kalil 16th June 2019 04:01 PM

So far the song sounds pretty interesting. That high note was a choice tho. haha I wouldn't mind see this outfit for a-nation or a random recorded live, it's pretty cool.

Thanks for all the updates, Corvina!

I do have to say that I like her instagram more and more, it's good to see that she connects with her fans so much and gives a good feedback.

salina 16th June 2019 04:16 PM

Xianghua 16th June 2019 10:29 PM

Eh yo sounds great! Thanks, Corvina.

This reminds me of back in the day when we'd get previews far in advance and become all excited for a release~

pedronekoi 17th June 2019 03:30 AM

^ Yes! I got the same vibe haahha When a CM was released and we tried to understand the 15secs of the song playing in the background hahah

jiarongisme 17th June 2019 11:50 AM

Eh Yo sounds fun! Love that it's a sporty song but the strings made it sound so refreshing. I feel like the aesthetic may be inspired by Beychella.

At this point I'm just like bah. Fuck it. I'm just gonna get my flight tickets over to Osaka and see how it goes. It's taking WAY too long. I may just get tickets from resellers if I don't win any. My guess is that the results will be out by this week.

chocopockymaster 17th June 2019 02:25 PM

Seriously I’m MAJORLY unimpressed with this ticket situation. What the fuck is taking so long?

Corvina 18th June 2019 07:50 AM

Saw people on Instagram posting about it - ticket lottery results for the International Koda Gumi should be out now!
Guess they've waited till the playroom lottery was over, too. That went till yesterday.

What are the chances of a second FC draw? Open to buying spare tickets of the Osaka shows!

Corvina 18th June 2019 08:40 AM

That's too bad. :(

New video of the performance from Saturday - it's the full first half included:

Sorry for the double-post, but can I ask what your tickets say for your seat numbers? Ours suggest that we’re in Row C but I’ve never gotten a ticket for a show in Japan that had a row with a letter; they’ve always got numbers :laugh

thinkingoutloud89 18th June 2019 02:55 PM

If I am correct, it says A4 & A3...but i don't know if they will be the same for both.

edit: Its just a refference number. you get your seat at the venue I think (at least it was like that for W-FACE)

OK that makes more sense! How exactly did it work for the W-FACE tour...? Is it similar to the Team Ayu booth at Ayu’s shows where you pick up physical tickets at the venue?

jiarongisme 18th June 2019 03:26 PM

It's definitely a bummer :( But I've asked a friend living in Japan to help me out when the public sales come around and hopefully she'll be able to help me score tickets from the convenience stores!

Can someone elaborate on how the public sales work? I understand that you can ballot online as well and you can purchase straight from convenience stores?
Or say for example, if I were to use my friend's address and phone number for the public ballot, and then pay in cash when I get the tickets from the convenience stores, would that work as well?

KarenPang 18th June 2019 03:36 PM

I'm sorry to hear that Jia Rong

With regards to obtaining tickets via the general ticket balloting system , you have to go to the conbini to get the tickets printed

You have to pay a fee to the cobini staff in order for it to get it done

Exactly like that, it's the same system.

Thanks chica! Does every fan club member have to do that? Or is it just because we live overseas so the tickets can’t be mailed to us...?

Trying to figure out how early we’ll need to arrive at the venue and I think we might need to change our plans for that day lol

Every international fan has to collect the ticket at the booth.
The Japanese members get their tickets about two weeks prior by post.
But you don't need to be early for collection the ticket, this happens fast.
Only for tour merch you might want to come early, cause popular items might sell out.
And you're welcome!

makes perfect sense...I’ve never used LivePocket before so I wasn’t sure if everyone just got a QR code :laugh I’m kind of hoping I don’t love the goods because we’ve got a busy travel day planned and I didn’t want to arrive super early but..........I’ll probably love everything lol. goodbye money.

do you have to apply in advance for sound check access? How do they choose which handful of FC members get to go and watch? (if they do that this time around, that is)

They usually do that but for now they haven't announced anything.
It's done through another lottery through her FC.
But afaik only her Japanese FCs, not the international...

Goods are usually announced about a month before tour start.
But you have to check the shipping dates marked on the item pages on mu-mo before you order.
Cause I did that for our group back in 2013 for JAPONESQUE Tour and it arrived too late - we left for Japan some days earlier.

thinkingoutloud89 18th June 2019 07:55 PM

^yeah, i will sent them to a friend in Tokyo I guess.
With W-FACE I was very early in line but did not get the Hoodie for the concert itself which made me sad.

jiarongisme 19th June 2019 02:03 PM

Wow Kuu's ticket sales for this is amazing! Thanks for the heads up Corvina, I'm gonna try for the JAPONESQUE show on the 10th. Does the balloting for this work like the FC one just that I'd need a Japanese address + phone number?

Corvina 19th June 2019 02:11 PM

Yeah, that's the reason I always warn people ahead, cause in the last three years she always sold out between 16-18 dates with her FC lotteries alone for her regular hall tours.

I never used general ticket sales, so Idk for sure, but it should work like FC just with a Japanese adress and phone number. I do know though that you can only pay by Japanese credit card or convience store (in this case Lawson). So you will need your friend. Also because it's only in Japanese.
But Karen's link above should help with info?

Balloting works the same for both the fanclub & general ticket balloting in that you need a Japanese address & phone number for both

Just that most of the time , the good seats tend to get allocated to the fanclub but it depends on your luck

But normally by the time general ticket balloting opens , most of the good seats are already taken by then

chocopockymaster 19th June 2019 02:35 PM

Not surprising to see that all the Kawasaki dates are sold out......good luck, jiarong!!!!

jiarongisme 19th June 2019 02:35 PM

^ Thank you!! :weep

Thanks for the info Corvina and Karen! Yup, I've managed to sign up for an account with Lawson ticket with my friend's address and phone number! Bummer I can't use a non-Japanese credit card. I'll have to get my friend to help me out with the payment then! Thankfully it doesn't seem like it's mandatory for me to enter a credit card info.

Another question that I can't seem to find on Karen's link (sorry!!): Can I carry out payment first, and then print the ticket when it's closer to the date - in this case on the day itself because the 10th is the day I land! Thankfully I'm touching down in the morning. Guess I'll have to try a reseller for the Black Cherry show. I just really wanna watch both.

I'm looking at https://l-tike.com/concert/mevent/?mid=320251 & Lawson didn't seem to mention when you will know if your ticket balloting is successful or not

The only thing mentioned is when the ticket balloting will close & that's next Tue night

But assuming if your ticket balloting via Lawson is successful , I think you should ask your friend to help you pay & print your concert tickets on your behalf

If you do that on the day of the concert , it's quite risky cos you don't know if the printer machine in the Lawson conbini would break down & that sorta thing

Better to be safe than sorry :s

Also now Japan will be a lot more stricter when comes to clamping down on tickets being sold in the black market

https://japantoday.com/category/spor...Tokyo-Olympics
http://the-japan-news.com/news/article/0005816018

Don't know how that will factor in for Kuu's tour :@

chocopockymaster 19th June 2019 02:58 PM

I've purchased tickets online through L-tike (Lawson) before using my US credit card--what's really key is a Japanese phone number and your friend's ability to go to a Lawson and get the ticket printed for you within a few days.

jiarongisme 19th June 2019 03:33 PM

I see... The thing is that my friend's is totally fine with paying immediately after getting the results. I can't seem to register my credit card into my Lawson account (which, btw, I have to use a VPN because it's geo restricted) and she's okay with using cash on her part first.

I'm just wondering how the logistics is like when it comes to printing after payment - can we settle that separately or is there a time frame for when the tickets have to be printed? Would prefer to print it myself because my friend stays in Tokyo and I'm gonna be in Osaka! I guess if it really comes down to it we can settle with postage but I feel bad enough troubling her as it is! (Just like how I feel bad for asking so many questions here :laugh)

Maybe this other link will help

https://beanmylife.wordpress.com/201...tickets-japan/

The Wordpress user is S'porean like both of us

Some of the info the Wordpress user is out of date but the generalised info still applies

Since both of you will be in different prefectures , you should request her to mail the concert tickets to the hotel you'll be staying

If you plan to take Shinkansen to Tokyo to meet your friend then that's different as you can meet her in person then she can pass the concert tickets to you personally & you'll be put at ease if that happens

jiarongisme 19th June 2019 04:33 PM

^ Thanks for that link Karen! I'll await instructions from Lawson look out for the window where I can get the tickets printed. If I can do it on the day itself, then I'll print it at any Lawson I can find. It just doesn't make sense to me if they impose a time window to print the tickets even when they're already paid for beforehand...

That's if I do win a ticket that is :laugh

I would be really careful with that though; I bought Ai Otsuka tickets when they went on sale (months before my trip to Japan) and I was never able to get them printed because some sort of window lapsed...even though I'd paid for them beforehand.

I'd strongly recommend asking your friend to do it if you're even the slightest bit unsure.

jiarongisme 19th June 2019 05:26 PM

Gotcha! Thanks for the heads up. Were there any indication of the time window in the email or something for you? And did you manage to go for the Ai Otsuka show in the end? I'll take note of the instructions that's sent to me. I may just get my friend to mail it to me via express airmail before I reach Japan because it's gonna be so difficult if I win a ticket for the 10th which is also the day I land.

It was three years ago and I don't remember that well but I never got to go to the show :( I could've delved into it with someone who worked at the Lawson I tried to pick it up at but by that point I was tired of dealing with it and slept all day instead lol

What your friend can do in order for you to have more assurance is that she can call the hotel staff and tell them she mailed something to the hotel you plan to stay so that they can keep a note on it

Would be helpful too if your friend provides a tracking number to the hotel staff if you want her to use EMS

That's what my middleman did when I went Osaka 2 years ago to watch BREAKERZ & GRANRODEO joint concert . After my middleman mailed the tickets to the hotel my sister & I stayed , he called the hotel staff on my behalf

By doing this , at least when you arrive in the hotel , you wouldn't get a rude shock when you asked the hotel staff & that they might not have any prior knowledge about this

Well I'm gonna be staying in an Airbnb. Maybe I can get the Airbnb host to keep a lookout for that then if it really comes to that. What I originally meant, actually, was to do express mail to me in Singapore if the collection window is early enough.

Last question: What's the difference between these 2?
https://i.imgur.com/3BsxjKH.png

One says LE Limited, the other says Prerik?

Thanks to everyone who's helped me out about this so far - Corvina, Karen, and chocopockymaster. It's been really helpful and I'm grateful for your patience :heart I'll just sit tight and wait for the results (whenever that is) and plan my next course of action. I may just contact l-tike on my own to ask if there's a window if they did not explicitly mention it.

LE is short for Lawson Encore--it's like a membership thing where you pay ~JPY1600 for certain benefits and I guess LE member-exclusive presales are one of them. The one that Google translate spits back as "Prerik" is short for pre-request; that's the one you'll want to use. :)

Thank you chocopockymaster! Hope it all works out! I went to check reseller tickets and my GOD they are so expensive. One of the Osaka shows that I was originally eyeing, someone's selling the tickets at 21,000yen EACH!

It was a great meeting.

No one knows.

-EDIT-

Just entered! It says that the results will be announced at around 3pm Japan time on 29 June.

Btw, for whoever that's trying the public ballot, the only option to receive the ticket is through postage so make sure that the address can readily receive your ticket if you win.

Corvina 21st June 2019 12:54 PM

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, jiarongisme!

I assume btw. that re(live) is the last piece of the whole cycle with double concept projects she started with Winter and Summer of Love.
The next one she's planning now is probably something 20th anniversary related and goes in another direction.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought I'd make an overview of her schedule for the next months:

June 21 - News Hotto Kansai TV appareance
June 26 - TV Tokyo "Tere to Ongakusai" music festival TV live (live show)
June 27 - HMV&BOOKS OKINAWA Opening event - talkshow
July 3 - Digital release of "Eh Yo"
July 13 - Music Fair TV live (Hibari Misora special episode, pre-recorded)
July 20 - a-nation Aomori
July 28 - ASEAN-Japan Music Festival 2019 in VIETNAM (live broadcasted by Vietnamese TV)
August 18 - a-nation Osaka
September 14 - start of re(live) tour

Btw. here's the event site for the HMV store opening:
https://www.hmv.co.jp/store/event/38476/

Topic of the talkshow is Kuu's last book, "Customs of a Beautiful Body".
They expect the opening to be crowded, which is why you had to apply for the talkshow beforehand. People taking part have to buy a copy of the book, apart from that it's free. Except the 30 fans selected from her FC, those are invited.

The next round of new Kloop goods for the Round 1 game centers were announced as well (13th round, I think):

EDIT:
Some footage of the Kansai News interview today:
https://www.instagram.com/p/By9_0hNH...=1pq2eoeo5mvwr

Kuu is speaking about the content of the song and you can see and hear more unreleased footage of the Eh Yo performance from last Saturday.

Thank you!! Fingers crossed on this, though I'm pretty sure I'll have to go to the resellers anyway because I wanna go to the Black Cherry show as well.

She actually started the double concept with BEST third universe, which had those promo posters with the sweet and edgy style, for the compilation and original album. Interesting that she started her 10s anniversary and is ending pretty much the same way.

Corvina 21st June 2019 06:18 PM

Yeah, Best ~third universe ~ was the first time she used it, but after her 15th anniversary she started a whole cycle with it, only using double concepts with identity as broader theme.
It is pretty neat actually - with W Face she explored two different sides of her and with W Face Tour her road to let her sides become one (aka accepting herself as she is/ being accepted like she is from outside - leading to AND/DNA, a summary and synopsis of her current self).
And now that new promo pic for re(live) shows herself as a unit you can't really divide, because of her entwined arms. No side without the other. Like a climax. If you know what I mean. :laugh

I really wish that super adorable stick light from Japonesque tour will be remake!

Gustavopc 21st June 2019 10:46 PM

To me her "duality" concepts started on feel my mind, there are two of her in the cover in a yin/yang way and the shooting also plays a bit with duals as she's either laying down in white clothes in a white bg, or dancing against a black bg. secret also had a secret part in the booklet which also plays with duality. It's been a lot here and there in her work, (Yume no uta/futari de and Inside/Outside Fishbowl easily come to my mind), not to mention Fantasia having four personas/feelings hahaha But as Corvina pointed out, she took it further since her 15th anniversary. I wonder if the ending of reLIVE tour will somehow ending with a merging of Kumis or something like that lol

Corvina 22nd June 2019 09:33 AM

Ah, you're right, feel my mind was the first.
But like you mentioned I always thought she was depicting Yin and Yang there, which is more of an abstract concept. With Best ~third universe~ she took it to a personal level the first time (the old Kuu for the best album, the light side, and the current Kuu with the dark edgy space theme directed towards future for the new album).
But then I take a look at grow into one, which already had the the theme of identity and acceptance, and notice that W FACE is like a combination of her old album themes! :P

Every artist has recurring themes in their work, like a trademark.
For Kuu it's duality and identity, for Ayu it's loneliness and her one-wing metaphor. And those themes make sense if you look at the artist's vitas.
Every artist is therefore recycling, it's inevitable, the art is to give it a twist to something new.
Luckily Kuu and her team are pretty good at that.

Btw. you can also take the new re(live) promo pic a step further, cause she is forming a triangle (or several) with her hands and face, hehe.
Such a simple pic, but pretty effective in context.
Or you only look at it and simply admire the beauty and nostalgia. :laugh

feel my mind is still my fav album from her. I love the mood it has.
