^I forget it on purpose
|
I'm not a fan of THE GIFT but if you ask me I completely forgot about Story and Anything for you's existence, on purpose as well lol

to me Story is something that sounds like it came out of her 2004 MY STORY heyday; I love how 'classic' and inoffensive this ballad is. Anything for You, on the other hand, sounds to me like a CLEAR ripoff of the easily-superior Walk, so it irks me to no end. this is one of the very few tracks I always always always skip. as for The GIFT, it just sounds half-baked to me. like a song not even finished being written. it's definitely not a gift, but I'm indifferent to this one. EDIT: I just realised that this was off-topic for the thread. sorry. |
^ the last 10+ posts were off topic. That’s my fault, I’m sorry too! :)

I think it depends from who decided to rerelease Loveppears. I highly doubt it was ayu. I think it was avex and ayu herself not intetested in this and not going to do something album related for CDL.
Her wild ideas may came from watching water show in Las Vegas. |

Something tells me that Ayu didn't have much of a say in the Loveppears re-issue unfortunately. If you go to her Instagram, there is a single mention that I can find either in her posts or highlights, making the idea of a CDL tribute less likely.
I still have hope the CDL will have a Loveppears tribute section though or theme. If I had to make my own setlist, it'd be: 1. Kanariya (think JTB CDL intro) 2. WHATEVER 3. And Then --- 4. Interlude 5. appears 6. Love ~ Destiny 7. TO BE --- 8. immature 9. monochrome -- 10. Introduction / Fly High 11. too late 12. Trauma 13. Boys & Girls And an encore section with the typical faves and Who... |
The TA post got translated into English. First time in a long time!

Must be surreal for her to watch all of these concerts with herself.

It makes me really look forward to it. But also I don't want to get my hopes up.

I do need a performance of P.S II.

Here's hoping it gave her more creative energy for this year. |
So far ayu performed 150 different song at CDL shows
Boys & Girls - 18 evolution - 17 Trauma - 12 Humming 7/4 - 10 Fly high - 9 SURREAL - 9 AUDIENCE - 8 UNITE! - 8 flower garden - 7 independent - 6 Spoiler:
thanks to Boys & Girls and Trauma, songs from LOVEppears were used more often LOVEppears - 52 I am… - 50 Duty - 33 RAINBOW - 32 MY STORY - 26 (miss)understood - 21 GUILTY - 20 Memorial address - 17 Secret - 17 Love songs - 16 single - 12 (here are Mirrorcle World, Happening Here, Winter diary etc) LOVE again - 11 A ONE - 10 A Song for ×× - 10 Colours - 9 NEXT LEVEL - 8 Rock'n'Roll Circus - 4 Party Queen - 3 FIVE - 2 M(A)DE IN JAPAN - 2 TROUBLE - 2 sixxxxxx - 1 |
^ Thanks for this! Very interesting! Personally I would love to see her sing Trauma and Humming 7/4 again
|
I'm definitely in agreement that PSII would be a great surprise, especially since we already got Kanariya and I think we have live recordings of all the other Loveppears tracks (except maybe love refrain?). I kind of want to see monochrome again. I just rewatched Concert Tour 2000 Vol 1 and I really liked her performance of monochrome~immature.
|
That's some serious dedication, Ayu. I can't even watch some of them where she had a bad day vocally and she decided to watch them all.
|
I hope she watched Premium CDL and thought "damn I did that" and just gives us that again.
|
^ Eeew.
|
^ omg what?? PCDL is the best thing she has given us. Like, for real.

PCDL was great. The way she is making the hype for this year's CD makes me really excited as she seems to be pretty focused on it. Ugh, can't wait!

PCDL was and still THE shit.
As long as she takes cares of her voice until then and even end up lip-synching 90% of it, I'm all for her doing something like that again. |
I personally never been a fan of PCDL, it has some moments but I find it too long and somewhat "flat".There is also a lot of playback in the show. That is said, I do enjoy the live versions of Powder Snow and Heartplace.
|
I'm gonna pile on all the love for PCDL with some more love because, ten years on, it's still one of her very best shows. I can do a three-hour TED talk on why I love this show but suffice it to say that the song selection is INSPIRED (starting with GREEN? continuing with Will? medleys of And Then and Naturally, and SIGNAL–Hana–too late? WHAT A CONCEPT). Fuck I love PCDL and I hope she does something that feels as fresh as this.
|
I've never been a fan of PCDL. I think there are some performances that works pretty well as a standalone (like And Then / Naturally, Will, End of the World / Heartplace), but the whole concert seems "flat" and disconnected, even for a CDL. And the visuals don't appeal to me at all (I'm used to some "cheesy" or "over-the-top" looks from her, but "Who" performance's look is atrocious).
After that, she delivered a lot better shows imo. |
PCDL has some of her worst outfits ever, the concert is overly long and most of it is lip synched. I do love some individual performances on it, as I also love she performed several stuff she never did before, but as a concert, thats a mess.
I'm totally in for more register of her fucking up her lip sync though, as those are always funny. |
tbh the pre-recorded vocals are welcomed at this point.
Do It Again and Wake Up are also very underrated with great openers. |

I don't mind pre-recorded vocals on heavily choreographed numbers... What wasnt really the case for Over lol
|
PCDL was the one when she had injured her hand, wasn't it? iirc that+medication was the reason she didn't sing live some stuff and all. I wonder if today ayu wouldn't have cancelled that, it was such hard-working putting the concert off being recently injured. I do agree the concert could have been longer and has some tacky outfits, but I enjoy most of it, especially cause of the song selection. That CDL should have been extended into a TA Tour so bad.

wow I loved PCDL so much, I think it was one of her best. I actually don't remember the outfits at all but I really enjoyed all those old songs she sang. I even have that concert recordings in my Apple Music library. I especially love that transition from SIGNAL to Hana and how she linked And then and Naturally.

She recorded a "live vocal" version of the song and then used it instead of original version as playback track This performance, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKQa9keVwc8 Both, the music and her vocals sounds "live" but they're not (actually the version is called "TV edit" in the official single). |

Lip sync for her legacy!

most recently, kanariya from CDL 2016–2017. it was almost clear this was a lip-sync just by comparing her vocals here and its severe hoarseness in Last angel, which was the immediately next song. the camera angles during the performance are suspect too; there were very few close-ups of her face, as if to hide obvious signs of lip-syncing. |
Quote:
As for Kanariya, you're absolutely right. |
It's kinda sweet that Ayu and her team know to keep the off key vocals to make it realistic to our ears. They know we love Ayu warts and all.

The live broadcasted version most likely is avaliable for download somewhere |

^There was 2 big lip sync fucking ups on that concert, the Angel's Song one where she lip syncs the wrong lyrics and a Over one where her hands are down, microphone in hands, and you clearly hears her voice going all "it's ooooveeeeeeeer"

Still no lottery This is getting ridiculous.
|
Yeah I am getting impatient.

Didn't she talk about GAME performance at one of the line lives? Audience heard how her partners talk with each other while doing tricks, so ayu decided to use recorded track. Do you remember something like that?

Cant wait for the lottery to happen soon. At the same time, hoping the real band will come back for this CDL. I need yochan!!

I just hope it will be broadcast live again, free for everyone to see :-) And since it's the only date that her voice is in better condition than usual.

Is ustream still a thing? It was cool to watch CDL online

I love it! Now I'm hyped even more as well!

I WANNA GO
|
I hope that's a new album title as well, we're starving for new music Ayu!
|
I see rainbow colours.. hmm.
Promised Land sounds like a perfect album title. |
A very cheerful title!!! Sounds fun!
|
Logo is really nice :)
|
Please tell me why the yellow and blue stars in that CDL logo are a different style?! It’s driving me crazy.

I'm sure there is some weird reason but it's hard to tell with just this, lol. This logo feels very Johnny's to me.
|
at least it isn't a TROUBLE CDL
|

I LIKE IT!! nice title :D
|
Not feeling very inspired with this name... But nice to see the spectrum colors in the logo! Hoping for nice goods :)

So wired to see her put the A mark after the subtitle, and another lazy logo again. :rolleyes
|
love the title, hate the logo
|
Quote:
That's what I guess.:P Red + yellow = orange, but there is no different style for the red star.:rolleyes |
Does she have a son/daughter that we don't know about, maybe a little nephew who's making cute little drawings for her fridge that she then takes and with the help of powerpoint she releases as her official logos and stuff?... seriously.
|

The logo isn't terrible, I just wish the stars didn't have the black stroke around them, they'd look much better. Still, the title got me excited, not only there's a cheerful note to it but also it's not TROUBLE related!! :laugh
It also makes me think of summer, even tho it'll be winter in Japan by then. I also can see a "recap" thing going on, she could go through each era of hers, always looking for the promised land and so. It'd be really cool! |
I like the title, somehow I felt very excited after readinf it. But I don't like the logo lol
|
Quote:
This logo is incredibly uninspired and bad with those 2 stars striped (but what can you expect from her team nowadays?). Hope there is at least some meaning behind it even if doesn't look good at all. Oh the other side I really like the "Promised Land"... I would LOVE a "Promised Land" (real/full) album :luv2 I also don't understand why they put the "A" logo after "-Promised Land-". They are THIS lazy GOD. :rolleyes |
I LOVE the title! It don't necessarily like the logo but it is what it is, doesn't really bother me tbh
|
I mean, it would normally be styled "COUNTDOWN LIVE 2019-2020 A -PROMISED LAND-" but the A is at the end instead of after the year...is that really such a big deal?
|
I'm so starved of new material that this announcement makes me so excited (and makes my mind hopelessly imagine this is somehow indicative of new music). I like this title and I hope to see some good stage-work, good set list, and a healthy singing voice!
|
The logo is very 90's/70's in its simplicity. I liked the little nod to the pride flag.
|
^ yeah the t-shirts are gonna be awesome! I'd love to have a white shirt with such logo
|
I really like the name and I like the logo's idea, but omfg those stars...
https://media.giphy.com/media/XsUtdIeJ0MWMo/giphy.gif Jesus, Ayu's design team strikes again vol. 84, what's so difficult for them to make everything have the same pattern... |
