Yesterday Kuu recorded 2 songs in the studio and today she's shooting something!

I am hoping for a re-recording of TAKE BACK, would love it to get the walk ~to the future~ treatment...
But unless she's doing re-recording I don't think there will be any more older songs, wouldn't make sense to put out 100 songs now and then add two or three more. (But then, that's avex. Wouldnt make sense to me but it might always happen). I guess they're probably just waiting to decide on what to add or not from her ongoing sessions. |
Thing is, she’s been recording lately (and has been for a while) so, if there’s not anything new on this, there could be a new project coming soon too.
I find it cool they added So fever and never give it up to the track list since they’re somewhat exclusive, but other than that... a good playlist to commemorate her 20th years and good if you don’t own anything from her. |

If the DVDs/BRs has the same PVs it's going to be 88. Unless they're putting an uneven number on the discs, there's obvious space for whatever they decide to put on it. |

tbh I think she's recording for more than just this best, unless she's pulling a UNIVERSE and give us a whole new album as an extra, but I doubt it since it would be an FC exclusive album if so. I guess it might be realted to that band project as well. |

For the sake of a complete closed release, I would prefer no new songs to be honest. It was stated as "from TAKE BACK to XXKK" and would be a little weird having new tracks but skipping SUMMER OF '21. It worked with FT and SS because it included all the content from previous singles at the time + a new track.
She's always recording, and at this point she has other new tracks and PVs, for the things she shared for the past couple of months, so who knows. They could pull a UNIVERSE, as Gustavo said, and be the final disc of the compilation, including SUMMER OF '21. |
As I've hinted at already, they could do it like with Kingdom and only put the PV of a new song on the DVD/BR.
And then the new song (+ PV again) on a new album. It's FC only anyway. Tho I also believe we rather get unreleased or re-recorded stuff. |

The acrylic charm is the FC goodie for that version. Wasn't announced what it would be before.
The mu-mo version of the FC edition gets a postcard like the other CD shops ( and the regular edition through FC shops as well). |

I hope she re(re(CORD)) just a few and add both versions on it tbh. The new versions could even be content for the last disc. idk I think some of the nostalgia of the best gets lost when the old versions are not there especially if the new version has a different arrangement. Finally worked for me cause Namie kept her old songs more or less intact regarding their instrumental, but then most of disc 2 didnt need to be re-recorded imo. That said, I'd love TAKE BACK to get both a new recording and PV :heart

Yeah, the Disc 1 of Finally was really perfect for me from start to finish while on Disc 2 I felt that Namie didn't really had much to update because the songs were newer so we got very different arrangements. I hope Kumi knows which songs demand an update but I agree that it would be lovely to have both versions, maybe the last disc could be made of those re-recordings while keeping the original songs on Discs 1-7 only. And, YES, a new version of TAKE BACK is a must!

I mean she IS working on this project for about 2 years now ( judging from the first time of her mentioning it). Well, you guys also have a point, but idk I like listening to the evolution in the artists through times, that's why I thought of that. But indeed new recordings make it more worth buying. Can't wait to see what she's preparing for us.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was working on a rerecording project since the BSC Tour and kept doing throughout the years, since she was revisiting the songs anyway. So it would add more years to the project, and was right around that time that she started her current "singing technique". |
Great news ! There some songs on namie’s finally that I dunno why they got re recorded and I wasn’t fan of her new voice. hopefully ku’ll be wise about it ! Plus I love her voice now so maybe it’s just going to be a better beat all around.

Funny re(MIX) is there but now it makes some sense how re(MIX) is under the albums tag on her Spotify unlike the Driving Hits albums that are put under compiltations. I guess she consider it a special album of sorts then?
And I wonder if she's considering only the new tracks from the compilations on there? If so, we might get ashita e from Bounce & Lovers after all these years? :P |

I don't know why so many are so mad at this release not including album tracks when that's pretty much the norm on Japanese compilations. I mean, I hoped for them, but I'm not frustrated that they were left out. Even when ayu released A "COMPLETE" a bunch of a-sides were left out so Kumi's picks seems pretty great for me tbh. |

My copy of the limited FC CD version of the 2015 WOML tour came today--not sure if this ever surfaced or not so I ripped it...I think I might've gotten the last copy because it's sold out now. :')

She said regarding that recording that it turned into a song which isn't part of her discography yet (classical maybe?). Stand by you was the fan song for the W FACE Tour in 2017. Doesn't really make sense at first glance to re-record album songs on a single best album and it is breaking the concept somehow, but like that more (important) songs fit on the tracklist and no track is going to be repeated on it. I assume the selected songs are going to be kind of bonus tracks? Today she's in the studio as well. She talked a bit about the live string recording yesterday and how it put soul into the song. First already leaked through a radio station post - new version of Cutie Honey coming 10/25. It's the Jazz version from Black Cherry Tour, Koda Gumi already got a preview. She did jazz versions of Crazy 4 U at first things tour, of Butterfly at Bon Voyage, there was a piano-ish version of ai no uta at Kingdom Tour, electropop version of Shake It Up at Kingdom tour as well, BUT also had a different arrangement at that show girl medley from TRICK Tour, a rock version of maze in either secret live or first things tour, a solo version of LAST ANGEL at Kingdom Tour... and there are more, I remember having a list of at least 15 of those.

The covers are amazing! Probably my favorite covers from her since JAPONESQUE/Color The Cover.
While I'm excited about the re-recording I'm not sure how I feel about them also doing re-arrangements. I feel like its a great thing for the fanbase since we all own the originals by now but may be a turn off for the general public who just want the standard version of the song. |

We have to wait for tracklists to know what she gonna put out for the general public and what for her fans (aka regular and FC version). Quite a lot of possibilites actually.
On another note, her manager showed a pic of you or Someday PV on a big TV screen in her stories not too long ago and wrote "wow" to it. I think she most probably reviewed the Blu-Ray content for the FC version, which will probably be the PVs. |
