there is no problem at all in this event !!! it is the normal life of every people and hopefully for her she can still do in a way what she wanna do...but there are those ****** journalists who are not at the good place at the good moment, or somebody sold the pictures to make her dive...but never mind !! Japanese peolpe can understand that she can party like a normal girl...

I just have two points:

One, this is nothing compared to what some artists get away with. I'm just pointing out some of those instances of American artists involved with gangs and drug activities...partying and being a criminal are hugely different things. Ayu's still definitely a good girl. :laugh

Two, and I think this is kind of important, EVERYONE seems to have forgotten that Ayu was DISCOVERED in a club. That's how she met Max Matsuura, that's how she went to that fateful karaoke, etc., etc., we know the story. She was clubbing in her mid-teens, so I see nothing wrong with doing it now to celebrate her birthday and Max Matsuura's Avex "presidency" (so to speak). :yes

I don't agree with the reference that ayu never showed evidences of drinking, I think she did. I'm actually shocked that people are getting shocked by the fact that ayu drinks. Has nobody ever watched the For my dear... PV? She is sitting in a bar yeah a bar OMG111!! and she has a huge glass of whisky (or whatever is that) awaiting for her to swallow it in one sip. The RAINBOW PV shows ayu in a bar and if i'm not wrong she's sitting in the table with drinks set on the there. C'mon, everybody weren't thinking those were milk or orange juice right? Ayu drinks even in the Heyx3 shows with those 2 crazy guys. I don't really see it as a shock.:shrug

I think there's nothing wrong with that at all that Ayu going out and have fun at the bar and so on so forth... but because she is the famous person. Everyone knows her name, of course some people wants to know her personal life, someone admired her, want to be like her. That's why the reporters chasing after her for these news. But anyway, my conclusion is she just human being, but not "normal" (the only thing is different to other people). It can be shocked out to some people who idolized her as God (hahaha...lol), but not me.

I meant that in terms of seeing Ayu drink in bars and such, I don't remember hearing about that in any tabloid, since it's usually about something with Nagase and other things to that effect.

Why would a tabloid need to show: "look ayu drinks!" ??? That would be like saying: "look ayu parties", "look ayu eat hamburgers". Alcohol is so socially accepted nowadays, you don't see newspaper reporting that celebrities drink because a lot of them do, it's no big deal at all. Alcohol has not the same impact as smoking in the society's point of view, even though in terms of public problems the alcohol causes a lot more disasters involving innocent people than cigarette do. The consequences of it aren't socially accepted though and those are what catch people's attention. What was probably shocking was the fact that ayu got out from that party extremely drunk, which just shows she usually doesn't do that or else it would already have been spotted by other tabloids before. But the fact that she drinks isn't really that much of a surprise imo.

As I said previously, Ayu drinking isn't that surprising, as drinking in Japan is perhaps as common as driving a car. Maybe it's a boring week for news in tabloids, but one thing I never understood is that when reading any sort of paper, the focus is more on something wrong instead of something right. While few may want to read "man donates money to charity" on the front page of the paper, it seems like things that go right are often left in the dust.

i read somewhere that Ayu was in a bar when she was confronted by Matsuura and asked to join Avex. I can't remember where, and there are no guarantees that its true. But if tis, then Ayu has been to bars.

So whats so different about it this time? When i get older i'm more than likely going to go to bars. It's not like they're a terrible place, and a lot of them (as so i've heard) play really nice music.

But about the gay bar thing... if Ayu is gay (no insinuation whatsoever) i'd still love ayu's music and i'd still support her.

I can see this type of news being Positive and negative. I agree that there's absolutely nothing wrong with what is reported. I'm actually happy to know she lives her life like any other human being. A lot of times celebrities are so cautious about what the press and tabloids say they try to stay secluded to protect their image since the media can really distort things. It's unfortunate celebrites often times sacrifice their freedoms to become a public figure.

I don't know anything about Ayu's personal life, so this little glimpse is refreshing. She looks like she's having a great time, which i'm sure all her fans enjoy seeing.

The details about her being at a Gay club is only an issue to people who have issues with Gay clubs I guess. Who really cares where she is having fun, so long as it's not illegal!

Personally I also dislike her smoking, but only because I dislike smoking in general. We all know the health risks with smoking. As for why it makes people become thinner or fatter...it's because it increases your bodies metabolism. So if you start smoking, you have the tendancy to get thinner as your body works faster in burning energy. But say if you quit smoking, it's possible to become heavier if your food intake was greater than before smoking. Your metabolism will slow back to "normal" but the caloric intak was increased.

Her drinking and smoking probably won't be shocking to her older fans, but since a lot of her fans are teenagers too, it's true reports of her smoking and drinking could upset the younger crowd. I'm sure parents might take notice too considering she is idolized by so many young teens and kids. It's to be expected.

Only time will tell if this type of news will affect her popularity.

Personally I don't find anything wrong with it. That tabloid might sound controversial, but really, there was nothing outrageous said in that tablod. If anything it seemed whoever wrote that article was trying to make a big deal out of nothing :rolleyes

i'm 18... and i dislike people who smoke or drink... but this wont stop me from liking her ^_^

well...
there was a half page article on Ayu on 29th Sep in this Hong Kong Newspaper. It said that some people from the japanese magazine 'Flash' saw Ayu go drinking with Avex ppl. She went to a total of three pubs. (i think it is that or some restaurant) She was drunk and was holding on to some Avex guy's hand when heading to the next place to drink and in the end, she was so dunk that after she went to the bathroom, she sat at the wrong table and started drinking with the people at that table...There were pics of her in the article holding the Avex guy's hand smoking/laughing in the pub.

unfortunately, i dont have a scanner and cannot post the scans of the article, so if someone has it pls post it so others can see.

Maybe Ayu was out to celebrate the release of the new single 'carols'
the newspaper said it as though it was a really bad thing but i dont find it too much of a problem to make a big fuss about...and these magazine ppl should really mind their own business instead of poking their noses into other ppl's lives...

it does look like ayu. however i dont see anything wrong about going to a bar and having a smoke. it is a perfectly normal social event.

if i own a gay bar i certainly do not want all that publicity. depending on the nature of the gay bar, there are different levels of 'action' (you know what i mean) going on. if the bar suddenly got plagued by ayu fans, the gay men there wont be too happy.
