i feel that music itself is a form of expression, and i agree that ayu does have alot of skill, but not to go off subject, i feel that rap is another form of expression, and there's always going to be a bad side of it, but there's alot of good positive rappers as well. J-POP has a negative side to it as well, you look at the japanese rappers DABO, and on the cover they have guns and baseball bats.

Anyway, It's just their way of being "different." Personally, I can't stand it. They want to be different, but instead follow a different group. Then they come lash at pop just because it's pop, no other reason. (Okay, so I think most Jpop is crap, but names like Utada and Ayumi are the gems among the stones.) And I also admit, although I hate US pop and it's music... I cannot help but stare when a Christina Aguilera or Shakira music video comes on :D

Reminder that this is from 2 years ago.The idea has merit but sometimes people do want to discuss things from the past. So long as people are aware it's out of date (ie "2002" was added to this thread title) old threads are usually still valid.

We will encourage people to put an automatic closure date on most Polls they make though, to stop those being ressurrected.
Maybe the default setting on new Polls should be for them to auto-close after ~3 months.
