BUCCANEER...never. I have that song on repeat like every night.
|
^ Will someone kindly send me this song? Never heard it!
|
|
^ Thanks so much!
|
^ Hey task, what did you think?
|
Wow... I just realized No buts! is coming out the day after tomorrow. Just a week after MIRAGE! :faint I've is really having a busy end of the year lol. Can't wait for No buts! I'm glad I haven't spoiled myself with any previews, the song will come as a total surprise. :)

^Just gotta say, I'm glad there's someone out there who loves We Survive. It's an amazing song but feels so under-appreciated. :(
Aside from that, anyone else heard No buts! single yet? I have, but I still don't really have a final opinion about it. I always digest music so long and change my mind all the time so I've come to realize it's better to keep my mouth shut to avoid embarrasing "oops you know I think I like this song after all" -moments. :P But I'd love to hear other people's opinions. I gotta throw in a comment about No buts!'s performance on the Oricon charts though. It looks like this will become Mami's highest-ranking single, since it debuted at #6 and has been #5 ever since. JOINT, the previous record-holder, turned out to be #9 on the weekly rankings, and I dare say No buts! seems to have the potential to beat it. We'll see how things turn out. |
Quote:
Haven't heard the new single. I don't think I realized there WAS a new one! |
^ I agree with both of you, "We Survive" was one of my first KOTOKO songs back when I was in fourth grade and it still hasn't lost it's charm so many years later! (i'm a 10th grader now.)
And I haven't listened to "No buts!" yet, how good is it? |
Pretty much every song on collective was amazing...including we survive.
|
Quote:
But maybe you shouldn't listen to me, since everyone else is saying this is the I've single of the year (it's not like it has much competition though...). :P I don't want to sound like a hater, but this single really wasn't for me. Whatever, I still love Mami :heart |
^ All of Mami's stuff is beginning to sound the same. Nothing to really differentiate it from anything else. I like the single but it didn't grow on me yet.
I did like Satanic more than no buts. |
^I agree about SATANIC being better than No buts! but I can't say Mami's stuff is sounding the same. This single, for example, doesn't really sound like anything else she's made to me: yeah, No buts! is a rock-ish song and she has many of them, but none of her other tracks are quite this chaotic and chipmunk-y. I think she can still do songs that stand out, but I hope none of her future songs will stand out quite this way.
|
I know I probably shouldn't double-post, but since I should've posted this little thing ages ago, I'll just throw this in and face the consequences. Anyway, now that the dramatic intro is out of the way: I've Sound Explorer's "I've best song 2010" -poll is now open (and has been for quite some time...)! So do go ahead and vote! And please tell us here what you voted for, if you don't mind others knowing about it. :) I'll get around to posting my pick as soon as I've actually picked it. I'm still hovering between... umm.. eight options, so yeah.
|
I listened to "SATANIC" and I think it's just okay... I'll just skip this single.
FFF-I can only choose one song!? Really hard choice since I wanted to vote for all these... BUCCANEER CLIMAX SCREW 指 But I have to go with... SCREW Can't get enough of this ****ing fantastic song! |
I voted for Buccaneer but my vote is kind of biased since I haven't heard like any of the rest xD
|
Sorry but most of Mami's stuff kind of sounds the same to me.
|
@Stellar: Yeah, being able to choose only one song sucks a bit. :| I still haven't decided which of these to vote...
CLIMAX linkage 未来の粒 ~I’m formed~ Binaural beat dilemma Crystal moment Fascination Teleportation guy I'm starting to lean towards Mirai no Tsubu though... EDIT: Yeah, I ended up voting Mirai no Tsubu. Still feel like I could've voted for any other of those eight songs. Maybe I'll give myself a peace of mind tomorrow by taking over every computer at our school and voting for the rest of my faves. Yeah, that sounds like a plan... |
Bum-bum-bumpity-bump! Missed me? Hope you did, 'cause I'm back with some news and not gonna leave until I've posted them here.
First off, I've will be attending Comiket 79, which is... quite soon! Their offerings include I've MANIA Tracks vol. III and SHORT CIRCUIT III Premium Show in Tokyo 2010 DVD. Which means... Reina songs will be finally properly released and we'll get some sugary-sweet KOTOKO/Kaorin/LSP cuteness via DVD! Yay! Anyone looking for more information may be interested in looking here. Also, just when you got over No buts!... Mami Kawada will be releasing another single! The single (which will be her tenth btw) bears the name of See visionS, will come out on 16th of February 2011, has a limited edition containing a DVD with the title song's PV and will be used as To aru Majutsu no Index II's second opening theme. Who would've guessed! Personally, I hope it'll be better than the somewhat disappointing No buts!, but time will tell. And that's about it. Merry Christmas to everyone (saying this well in advance just in case)! |
I'm interested in some of the songs on "I've MANIA Tracks vol. III" that I haven't heard before. (MOMO and SHIHO tracks and Mami's track)
"Short Circuit" DVD will probably be adorable. |
I think it's finally thread revival time after three months of silence. So, because I love to ramble, I thought I'd pop by and drop a news bomb.
First things first: Eiko Shimamiya is going to release a best album. The album's title seems to be E.P.S -Eiko PRIMARY SELECTION- and it'll come out on June 29th. The tracklist has already been released and looks like this: 1. ひぐらしのなく頃に (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) 2. Super scription of data 3. VANILLA 4. 太陽 (Taiyou) 5. 誓い (Chikai) 6. ひかりなでしこ (Hikarinadeshiko) 7. Dreamer -Remix- ※SORMAアレンジ (arrange) 8. 奈落の花 (Naraku no Hana) 9. 砂の城 -The Castle of Sand- (Suna no Shiro) 10. WHEEL OF FORTUNE (運命の輪) (Unmei no Wa) 11. スカラベの祈り (Sukarabe no Inori) 12. River 13. inner child Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, those are indeed two completely new tracks! River and inner child will apparently have Kazuya Takase and Tomoyuki Nakazawa involvement, but I don't really know in what way. Also, no idea which version of スカラベの祈り is going to be on this album. It could be the original from her ancient EP hologram (please no), it could be the version found on ULYSSES or (my personal wish) it could be the -brown sugar style- mix (also from hologram). There's also a special video clip on Eiko's new official site with her and Kazuya Takase talking about... something. I haven't been able to watch it completely myself due to computer problems, but I managed to catch a few seconds from the beginning and it seems the -brown sugar style- version of スカラベの祈り is playing on the background (making me even more hopeful). In other news, Eiko Shimamiya will have an acoustic live on May 13th, which is quite soon. This might not sound too noteworthy, what with being a one-night thing and all that, but it shows definitely she's recovering from her cancer and is already in good enough shape to hold a live show (and make some new music). :) In other live related news, KOTOKO is hitting the road with a tour once again - but this time, she's going acoustic! KOTOKO's acoustic tour, titled KOTOKO アコースティック・ライブ・ツアー”心音” ~繋げよう!歌と笑顔と君の手と~ (or "KOTOKO Acoustic Live Tour “Shinon” ~Tsunageyou! Uta to Egao to Kimi no Te" or just "KOTOKO's long-ass-title acoustic tour" as I've taken to calling it), will start on 4th of June and finish on 2nd of July, will have nine shows in eight different places and will be really interesting in general, because KOTOKO doesn't exactly spring to mind first when you think "acoustic". I'd really love to hear what songs they choose and how exactly are they pulled off. Oh, and Mami Kawada is having a live in Shibuya next week (4th and 5th of May). All for her latest single See visionS. Last, but definitely not least: I've and record label Lantis have a special project coming up. What exactly is it? We can only guess for now, but in just two days we will know as the secret will be revealed here, on I've x Lantis special site, on the 29th. |
ooo acoustic KOTOKO will be nice!!
|
Awesome news! Thanks for sharing! You're like our I've expert! :yes
|
@dreamland: Indeed, I only wish I'd get to hear all those acoustic versions, I really want to hear how KOTOKO sounds without all the electronic instruments omnipresent in most of her songs.
@taskinillusion: Or maybe everyone already knows all this and I'm just the only one sharing the news. :P Anyway, the I've x Lantis special project has been revealed and I thought I'd share that piece of news too. And the project is... Larval Stage Planning making a major debut under Lantis! The I've x Lantis site has more info for those interested, but to put it briefly, the site has been updated with their profiles and they are to sing a new opening theme for an anime series I can't remember the name of. The song will apparently be called 君+謎+私でJUMP!! (Kimi+Nazo+Watashi de JUMP!!), but no idea yet when it's gonna come out. Also, I've will apparently be holding YET ANOTHER live event called TRIBAL LINK. It'll be held on July 3rd at Tokyo's STUDIO COAST. Starring in this live are all the I've girls except MELL (in other words Eiko, Mami, Kaorin, KOTOKO and LSP) plus guest stars including Hiromi Satou (dare I hope she'll sing Second Flight with KOTOKO?), Yui Sakakibara and some others I've personally never heard of. I've gotta say, this summer seems to be full of I've lives. o_o TRIBAL LINK, Eiko's acoustic show, KOTOKO's acoustic tour, Mami's See visionS live and also I've's fanclub live... I don't know if any other year has had this much live stuff going on. Also, in addition to the live front, I've is becoming more twitter-active. In the past couple of days, Kaori Utatsuki and the LSP girls (Airi, Nami, Rin) have all joined Twitter. (And Nami's even tweeted in English a few times awwww) That leaves KOTOKO as the only I've singer without a Twitter account - I wonder when she'll get one. But, if you're in Twitter, please do follow the girls! :D |
Okay, I know I shouldn't double post but I just can't not share this awesome piece of news. :D
Remember TRIBAL LINK? (If not, just take a look at my post above.) Anyway, TRIBAL LINK isn't just a live event. I've will also be releasing two cover albums called TRIBAL LINK-L and TRIBAL LINK-R on 29th of July. I was aware of these albums before, but I never said a word because I thought it would be just a bunch of other anisong and eroge singers covering I've songs (like unify, a cover album released ages ago containing I've songs re-sung and re-arranged by some eroge group I can't remember more about). Now that the tracklists have been revealed though, we can see that it's totally not just guests covering I've. Tracklist below. Also, covers. http://www.getchu.com/brandnew/70890...903package.jpg http://www.getchu.com/brandnew/70890...904package.jpg EDIT: The tracklists for each release got confirmed. TRIBAL LINK-L 1. IMMORAL (KOTOKO) 2. Abyss (奥井雅美) 3. blossomdays (Larval Stage Planning) 4. birthday eve (橋本みゆき) 5. 砂の城 -The Castle of Sand- (川田まみ) 6. アナタだけのAngel☆ (榊原ゆい) 7. 常識!バトラー行進曲 (nao) 8. Face of Fact (詩月カオリ) 9. For our days (MAKO) 10. Collective (飛蘭) 11. Princess Brave! (桃井はるこ) 12. Leaf Ticket (佐藤ひろ美) 13. SHIFT -世代の向こう- (島みやえい子) TRIBAL LINK-R 1. Velocity of sound (飛蘭) 2. The Maze (詩月カオリ) 3. ジェットスマッシュ! (桃井はるこ) 4. Ever stay snow (nao) 5. Lupe (川田まみ) 6. Automaton (奥井雅美) 7. Close to me… (島みやえい子) 8. jihad (榊原ゆい) 9. Permit ~許しの塔~ (佐藤ひろ美) 10. Lilies line (Larval Stage Planning) 11. Philosophy (橋本みゆき) 12. FLY TO THE TOP (KOTOKO) 13. Double HarmoniZe Shock!! (MAKO and 川田まみ) So, as we can see it's the same line-up the live event has, which is only predictable. This tracklist makes me excited for many reasons: Kaori Utatsuki actually gets to sing something other than denpa or ballads, Mami Kawada gets to make her own rendition of Eiko's undying classic Suna no Shiro, Eiko's version of Close to me... sounds like an awesome idea, KOTOKO's FLY TO THE TOP will most likely top MELL's original and MAKO will appear on an I've release for the first time since 2004! Her return is certainly welcomed, as her songs were (for me) some of the highlights of the earlier I've Girls Compilations. :) The one complaint I have would be about Larval Stage Planning: it seems they're the new Kaori Utatsuki, releasing nothing but denpa songs. :( Though Airi's two HeaRt and Nami's piece of my heart definitely showed these girls have potential, they are reduced to being the new denpa girls. But maybe I'm just being too cynical; after all, the LSP girls have barely been with I've for a year. The guest line-up also looks promising. Hiromi Satou's duet with KOTOKO way back in... 2004, I think, was definitely great and I think she can also pull off songs on her own. nao I know from her work with fripSide and I expect great things from her tracks, since especially the later fripSide have her sounding great. Also, her distinctive voice should do wonders to the endlessly bland Ever stay snow. The rest, however, I have never listened to. I've heard about Yui and Halco though, so at least they shouldn't be complete nobodies. :P So, I'm definitely looking forward to the TRIBAL LINK albums! What about all of you others (if there's anyone following this thread). Do share your opinions, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who wants my monologue to end! (PS: Cookies for you if you actually read through this whole monster of a post! It seems I still have much to learn about not writing huge walls of text...) |
WHOA! Now this I'm excited for! Do I see Lia's "SHIFT -世代の向こう-" being covered by Eiko!? And KOTOKO's "Abyss" being covered? And... "Face of Fact" being covered by Kaori! I love that song! And Kaori. :) I'm definitely excited for this!
I'm hoping (and assuming) that the covers will be rearrangements of the old songs like "The Front Live Covers"? And I'm interested to hear some Larval Stage Planning stuff. Haven't heard their music yet, I've just read reviews on them. |
I don't know for sure if the songs will be re-arranged (á la Front Line Covers), but it seems like the most likely thing to happen. I'm also assuming they'll be tweaked at least a little, because if not for a little update, songs like FLY TO THE TOP and Ever stay snow will sound older than ancient. Besides, they'll probably want to edit the arrangements to fit the new vocals better.
I hope LSP will improve blossomdays. KOTOKO's version never really impressed me. On the other hand, I can't imagine them outdoing KOTOKO on Lilies line. I love the original so much. And I'm also so excited to hear Kaorin sing Face of Fact and The Maze! She's done so few dark songs like this, it'll be nice to hear something different. Besides, they are great songs and I'm sure she won't let me down. I can already imagine her singing Face of Fact... :heart |
http://nicosound.anyap.info/sound/sm14931147 TRIBAL LINK previews. Hear and judge.
|
KOTOKO always sounds so good. :heart Can't wait to get my grubby downloading hands on her version of IMMORAL (who sung the original, btw?).
I honestly don't know much about the rest of the I've sound singers so I can't pick apart any other voices but I liked most of what I heard. |
IMMORAL was originally sung by Mami Kawada. I wonder whose version will turn out better. :P
You should really listen to the whole albums! :) I didn't know any I've singers besides Eiko Shimamiya until I downloaded LAMENT and OUT FLOW, but now I pretty much love 'em all. ------------------------------------------------- http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/15905254 TRIBAL LINK's Day Stage. The whole thing, completely free of charge and no registering required. Watch away! I'm currently halfway through with the show. Larval Stage Planning was good - they sang well, Airi and Nami were adorable, but Lin looked like she was in pain for the first two songs. LSP's mainstream debut song was also heard. It was awfully average. Yui Sakakibara was... unexpected. Her outfit was freaking bizarre, she looked like my aunt and sounded like a four-year-old in her first song. o_o Kaorin was awesome. Her songs rocked and she pulled them off with style. Eiko Shimamiya performed well, but the songs she was given are seriously far from top-notch. To her credit, she almost saved SHIFT. Now, off to watch the rest. Edit: Okay, wow, Mami's portion was REALLY bad. She ruined The Castle of Sand with her overenthusiastic singing and slurry Engrish. I think it would've been a lot better even with the small change of her singing more quietly. Lupe's verses also suffered from the energetic delivery, but at least the chorus was good. Miyuki Hashimoto's rendition of birthday eve was very good but WHAT WAS THAT THING SHE WAS WEARING were all of these women drunk while picking their outfits or what. KOTOKO was average. :| Hiromi Satou's performance was nice. |
I merged two of my previous posts, because, y'know, triple posting would be just rude. But I'm once again resorting to double posting, because I feel these news need to be told.
KOTOKO is leaving I've. Yeah. I... I don't really know what to say. The explanation she gave was something like "I need to get outside my comfort zone and try new things", but I just can't help but wonder if there's something else behind this decision. She's leaving after over 10 years with I've. Talk about a change. Also... KOTOKO is releasing her fifth album. It's called 「ヒラく宇宙ポケット」, "Hiraku Uchuu Pocket" ("Open Universe Pocket"... or something like that?) and will be released on 5th of October. For those thinking this is her last album with I've, I'm going to flat-out say no. The album will be released under Warner Home Video label instead of Geneon or Lantis, which I've is affiliated with. I've producers are still very involved though; over half of the album has them either composing, arranging, or doing both. For convinience's sake (or maybe just 'cause I feel like copypasting stuff), I'm posting the tracklist (and credits) here. Oh, also, all songs are new. All lyrics by KOTOKO. 1. TR∀NSFoRM Composition & Arrangement: Takase Kazuya 2. 青いジープで (Aoi Jeep de) Composition: Ozaki Takeshi Arrangement: Ozaki Takeshi & Nakazawa Tomoyuki 6. mirror garden Composition: KOTOKO Arrangement: masayoshi minoshima 7. Command+S Composition & Arrangement: Hiroyuki ODA Pres. HSP 8. X-kai- Composition: Ozaki Takeshi Arrangement: Ozaki Takeshi & Nakazawa Tomoyuki 9. Sora no Oto) Composition & Arrangement: Saitou Shinya 13. 地球-TERRA- (Chikyuu -TERRA-) Composition & Arrangement: Iuchi Maiko Also check out the special site for the album for a pretty banner, a small preview of the first track and a message from KOTOKO, which might or might not reveal something about her reasons for leaving I've (I still can't figure out why). |
Wow interesting news!!
The banner is pretty! I\m looking forward to hearing the new album! |
Hey look, we got previews for KOTOKO's fifth album!
The covers have also been revealed to the public but I won't bother posting 'cause they can be seen on the previews. Yay for chipmunkiness in Mirai Ressha, lol. I sure do hope TRANSFORM's PV won't be just... that. 45 seconds is borderline tolerable, but four minutes of "topless" KOTOKO flailing around with warping make-up and hairstyles? No, sir, no. Aside from that, I do like all the previews. It's already sounding like Hiraku Uchuu Pocket will have more to offer than Epsilon no Fune did. |
@Kacku: please don't worry about double or triple posting...I really appreciate all this news you bring <3
But wow, Kotoko leaving I've...craziness. I am excited for her 5th album though, I've barely begun to start listening to her...so it's good for me. |
The covers look neat!
And the previews all sound great! |
@emiko: Well, forum rules don't encourage double-, triple-, etc. posting and I do try to follow the rules as well as I can. Also, even though it may not seem that way, I don't want to completely monopolize the thread with just my own posts. And I tend to get a bit paranoid about people being annoyed by me posting one long-ass post after another. But it's really nice to hear that the news updates are appreciated. ^^
I'm also very excited for her 5th album, especially with the whole package being brand-new stuff! @dreamland: I wish I could fully agree with you about the covers... The regular edition is pretty nice, colorful and all (although I could well do without the repeated door opening pic...), but the limited edition cover is a bit... bland. It looks like a perfect target for a secret slipcase though: you take that cover off and a nice, brand new cover is unveiled! Like with Ayu's Love songs recently. I'll gladly agree about the previews though, they're all sounding great! |
Quote:
I can't believe KOTOKO is leaving I'VE!!! :thud She's been with them forever! It's just so shocking. I really do wonder what the core reason is... I can understand her wanting to branch out and do different stuff though. But she's still KOTOKO and with that goes a certain style, you know? I'm really looking forward to her new album! The previews sound amazing and she looks really pretty! Thanks so much for sharing all this news! |
^Ah, thank you very much! I shall continue with my double-posting ways then. :P
[Warning: wild speculation ahead] Yeah, KOTOKO leaving is just... out of nowhere. I think it might have been a really sudden decision, because between Epsilon no Fune and this day, she released three singles (not to mention many eroge songs) while still under I've - that's often been the amount indicating a future album release for KOTOKO and Mami. That, coupled with the large amount of I've-produced songs on Hiraku Uchuu Pocket, seems to imply (to me, at least) she was already working on an album with I've and for one reason or another switched labels and got new friends on the producing list halfway through. It's not like she's hanging on to I've at all now that the departure's been announced (which would make the whole leaving-the-group thing questionable); instead, she's pumping out non-I've songs left and right. She already has like... three non-I've eroge songs coming up. Not to mention a new single, the opening for Shakugan no Shana III, has also been announced. But it doesn't seem like a simple matter at all and my speculation has yet to reach a conclusion. Speaking of KOTOKO's new non-I've songs, here's one example: Pray's Color -Link- for a game called Mashiro Summer. At least the split from I've has her take some new musical paths. This definitely doesn't sound like every I've song she ever did, which I was slightly afraid might have happened. But it's still clearly KOTOKO, which is always good. And to elaborate about the Shakugan no Shana theme song: it's called Light My Fire, has lyrics, composition and arrangement by ryo (supercell) and will be released as a single on November 16th. KOTOKO sure seems to have a hectic release schedule after the label switch. o_o A single only a month after an album release? Wow. |
HEY GUYS GUESS WHAT HIRAKU UCHUU POCKET HAS LEAKED ALREADY AND I'M SO EXCITED I'M ABUSING CAPS LOCK NEEDLESSLY
Get the album here: http://www.j-mp3.info/2011/10/kotoko.html It really has tracks in 320 quality and all the scans there. My listening time starts now! |
^Thanks! Going to download and listen! Excited!
|
^No problem, just reposting a link! Hope you enjoy! :)
Well, after about five times listening through the whole album, I can safely conclude that it's way too distracting to be studying music and... I think I'd better keep the rest in spoilers. My two cents regarding the album: Spoiler:
In a nutshell: this is an awesome album I'd definitely recommend to pretty much anyone. Personal favorite tracks: Mirai Ressha, Love Letter, Command+S and beat. So, what did everyone else think of KOTOKO's fifth album? :D Great? Awful? Favorite songs? Least favorite? |
Hiraku Uchuu Pocket grabbed #21 on Oricon charts during its first week, selling 5 200 copies. Interestingly, it sold less than Mami's LINKAGE but landed a better position.
More interestingly, we now have some new info about KOTOKO's upcoming single, Light My Fire, which is only a month away. For starters, the cover: http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg Then, there's also a preview of the PV. The Shakugan no Shana III opening video (in which this song is featured) is also up on Youtube. Not to mention the full leaked song! I'm only posting the PV preview, because it's got the best sound quality and KOTOKO looks damn great in it. In other words, all we're missing about this single now is information on the b-side. :P |
^Definitely wasn't expecting that. Not sure I'm feeling the song and the PV seems pretty eh. KOTOKO looks and sounds great though.
|
2011 is ending soon, but things concerning I've are only getting more and more interesting. The newest development seems to be Mami Kawada doing a KOTOKO: she's apparently also moving from Geneon Universal to Warner Home Video. Find her new site here and also hear out the previews for her new single Serment, coming out on the 1st of February 2012.
However, unlike KOTOKO, Mami Kawada seems to be keeping her I've ties intact. Serment is fully I've-made with Kawada's go-to guys Tomoyuki Nakazawa and Takeshi Ozaki handling the compositions and arrangements. I wonder if this means I've as a whole is breaking up with Geneon. Considering Kaori Utatsuki is releasing a single under I've in Comiket right about now, MELL is quiet and LSP never was under Geneon to begin with, it certainly seems so. Oh, speaking of LSP, they're releasing their second single on January 25th. It's called "Trip -innocent of D-" and, surprise surprise, also has an anime tie-up. More interestingly, the cover and full credits are out: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/pictures/l/11/04/LACM-4894.jpg Trip -innocent of D- Lyrics: Airi Kirishima Composition: C.G Mix Arrangement: C.G Mix and Takeshi Ozaki Chapter.5 Lyrics: Airi Kirishima Composition: Kazuya Takase Arrangement: Kazuya Takase and Takeshi Arai It's nice to see Airi writing the group's lyrics. Oh and I suppose there's also a preview up for the a-side but I'm too lazy to dig it up at the moment. And finally, Comiket 81 starts today if I'm not mistaken and we have three products of potential interest to I've fans: the aforementioned brand new single from Kaori Utatsuki, called Toki no Tsubasa and featuring three new songs; a first release from LSP's quiet-until-recently girl, Rin/Lin Asami (how does one romanize), a single called "Got it!! -Extended ver.-" containing Got it!! -Extended ver.- (would you believe it), and English version of the song (I'm dreading it) and an instrumental; and finally, a brand new Eiko Shimamiya produced mini album called 5TEARS and featuring vocal talents such as KOTOKO, Eiko Shimamiya herself and Tae, who might also be familiar to some under the name lela. Oh and some women called karuta and Kaori Tsubaki, completely unfamiliar names to me. I'll admit I'm the most excited for 5TEARS since there's been a Promotional Video floating around for a while and I've loved most of what I've heard. Someone else likes it too, right? And if anyone's interested, some small previews for Rin and Kaori's singles can be found on I've's official site (http://ive.mu/c81.html). Anyway, here's me, waiting for the Comiket goodies to pop up. (I meant for the opposite of this long-ass infobomb to happen.) |
FINALLY some signs of life from I've. June 29th, we will get two new compilation albums: G.C.BEST I’ve GIRL’s COMPILATION BEST with 24 tracks selected from the seven compilation albums and オマイラBEST SHORT CIRCUIT BEST with 13 tracks from the three SHORT CIRCUIT albums. So... compilation albums of compilation albums. I don't exactly see the point. At least both albums will have one new song.
However, the cool thing is that fans can vote for their favorite songs and a handful of the winners will get a free ticket to the album tracklists. In other news, KOTOKO has a new single coming up on 16th of May. →unfinished→ is composed and arranged by Satoshi Yuginuma of fripSide and sounds as such. Mami Kawada also has an upcoming (I've-produced) single called Borderland, out on 30th of May. |
Also some new KOTOKO news that I recently learned: KOTOKO will be attending North Carolina's Animazement! (From @animenewsnet on Twitter http://4NN.cx/88592)
|
I hope there will be some KOTOKO fans to meet her at the convention and show her that some people do know about her outside of Japan! I'd love to see her myself but that will probably not happen anytime soon - unless she suddenly starts finding Europe extremely fascinating. :P
Hot news: Mami Kawada just announced her fourth album today! "SQUARE THE CIRCLE" is out 8/8/2012 and contains Not buts!, See visionS and Serment plus 10 brand new songs. And that's just the regular edition; the limited edition comes with a blu-ray disc containing... actually, I think I'll just let CDJapan do the talking for me here. In celebration of the news, here's a snippet of Mami's unreleased song 光芒 (Koubou), which was used as the ending of Shakugan no Shana's very final episode. I hope we will get a full version of Koubou on SQUARE THE CIRCLE. |
KOTOKO and Mami's newest singles are out. Enjoy →unfinished→ and Borderland! I really like both, but I find Borderland the superior one. unfinished's b-side is great though. (download links from j-mp3.info)
In other news, Eiko Shimamiya is also up to something: she's releasing a new single unfortunately only sold at her upcoming live "Eiko Shimamiya Real OoParts 2012". I say unfortunately because a preview of the single's titular song sounds pretty amazing. The single is called "Onkalo" and you can find the preview →here←. |
Well, there's a lot of news that came out for I've:

^The song titles and credits are out! And covers too!
http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/I/51fNc8OyrHL.jpg For G.C BEST: Blaze a trail, lyrics and vocals by Mami Kawada, composition from Kazuya Takase and arrangement by good ol' TakaNakaZaki combo. If nothing else, I expect a great arrangement for this song because Mami and TakaNakaZaki have always turned out gold (for all of their two songs together, but still, those were great). http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Yvg47lyWL.jpg For Omaira BEST: Sig-naL ~0時過ぎのSpace soldier~, lyrics from Airi Kirishima, composition by C.G Mix, arrangement by C.G Mix and Takeshi Ozaki (who have teamed up for at least LSP's Trip - innocent of D- before) and vocals will be handled by a "new denpa unit", Pixy Lab. (The dot is actually a part of their name.) Rumors run wild as to who form Pixy Lab. Personally, I support the theory that it's Kaorin and someone from LSP. After all, what would I've denpa be without KOTOKO AND Kaorin? If not that, it could be nao. We'll see. And for the record, I quite like the BEST albums' tracklists. On G.C BEST, pretty much everyone of importance in I've history is represented, from MOMO and SHIHO to even Lia. Although they could cut some KOTOKO songs and give a better example of MELL's stuff and Eiko and Kaorin probably could also use another song. I'm also happy both of the I've Special Unit songs are included, they're great! Omaira BEST is also nice, nothing too surprising. I just wish Hoshizora Interceptor had also made it to the list. I'd gladly drop Maple Syrup or Seishun Rocket to have it included. Also, Eiko had her concert and dropped her single for the expecting fans. The song WAS uploaded on youtube but it was made private, like, two minutes ago, I was just looping the song before that. T_T I'll post a link once the song resurfaces. For now, you'll just have to take my word for it when I say it was a fantastic song. |
^omg really. new eiko material is just *_*
|
^Onkalo is still nowhere to be found... T_T However, we might get it soon! Eiko's REAL OoPARTS 2012 site (http://www.e-talentbank.co.jp/eikoshimamiya/) was recently updated with a thank you video from the artist herself (go check it out!) thanking everyone for attending and telling she really enjoyed performing with a full band and singing nostalgic songs and new songs. And that's not all! In the video, she also mentioned Onkalo getting a "sekai debut" (those exact words) and sure enough, there's a new text snippet under the Onkalo preview saying that it's been decided to be released worldwide and it'll be available for purchase on the site soon. I'm waiting anxiously for new developments (and wishing I could understand something other than "sekai debyutto" from what she says about Onkalo so I would know what exactly is going on ''OTL).
In other news, our girl KOTOKO will be performing at a-nation this year! She's going to be a part of the ANISON GENERATION (surprise) on 3/8. Girl better have her A-game on and charm a bunch of new fans out of the audience! |
"Sekai debut" for Onkalo has happened! Eiko's concert site put up a link to buy the actual, physical CD (and here I thought they were plotting a digital release). For anyone interested, you can purchase the single here. The site can be viewed in English, looks pretty legit and the price doesn't seem too awful either, seeing as it contains shipping and all. I really want to buy the single, myself, since I really loved the title song and they've made it so easy.
|
I was not aware that there was a new Eiko single but I would certainly like to hear it now.
|
^The full version is still nowhere to be found, but the short version is still available here. That said, I just ordered a copy of the single today! I'll certainly rip it when it arrives (wonder how long that'll take...) but I hope other people could buy the single too.
The I've Best albums are coming out tomorrow! Can't wait to hear the new songs. EDIT: Apparently, there's no need to fork over money for a physical copy of the Onkalo single, an iTunes release is planned on July 7th! I hope some people will take the chance and buy Onkalo on iTunes. Also, Eiko revealed in an article that the single's title comes from Onkalo, a nuclear waste disposal facility here in Finland. She also tells something about the songwriting process and the song's message in the article, but I couldn't understand anything more with my nonexistent Japanese knowledge. @_@ Anyone able to translate a little something? Because, I'm terribly intrigued. OTL |
Sorry for double-posting again, but this is pretty biggu newssu. The compilation-compilations are hardly out of the way and another compilation is already coming up! I've GIRL's COMPILATION Vol. 8, LEVEL OCTAVE will be released on August 31st! Here's the cover.
http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/rskblog/i...b/3bd6c48f.jpg The tracklist is still →unfinished→, but the compilation will contain at least the following songs: * KOTOKO - U make Ai dream * Lia - Light Colors * Kaori Utatsuki - Niji-iro Rock'n'Roll * Kaori Utatsuki - Hold on me ~Koi no Mahou~ * Mami Kawada - INITIATIVE * Larval Stage Planning - Rolling Star * Airi Kirishima - IN MY WORLD * Nami Maisaki - piece of my heart * Rin Asami - lead to the smile And in case anyone wants them, have some links for the compilation-compilations: G.C.BEST & Omaira BEST. (Links courtesy of Treize from I've Sound Forum) |
Hello! Sorry for bumping this thread again (I swear, I'll stop doing this every two days ''OTL), but I felt the need to advertise a little. I received a copy of the fantastic Eiko Shimamiya -produced mini album 5TEARS today, ripped and scanned the contents and uploaded it for all those who have yet to hear it. Seriously, if you like I've Sound, and especially if you like Eiko Shimamiya's music, you need to hear this. If you happened into this thread by accident, you need to hear it! Please do download, and I hope you'll like what you hear.
>> Download thread here << PS. The scans are kinda... awful. Sorry, I did what I could but my scanner is just... awful. I swear the booklet looks much better in person. |
Pop!
I'm sorry to spam this thread again (at least I took five days off this time), but I feel like I should spread the word: Eiko Shimamiya's Onkalo is up on iTunes all over the world! Search it and buy it, it's dirt cheap! I would do so myself right away, but I don't have an iTunes account and it seems I won't be getting one anytime soon either. ... Or, you know, just download it for free from here. I really hope some people will still buy it from iTunes though! It's so easy and cheap! Still waiting for my physical copy... At least it's been shipped out already. I hope it arrives soon. Pop! EDIT: My copy of Onkalo arrived today! http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/249/onkalo.jpg I'm a happy owner! Also, Eiko Shimamiya is super sweet on her Facebook. She replied to my silly little message and even reposted my silly little picture saying she was glad I had bought a copy of Onkalo. Feeling slightly nerdy joy here. Gotta love social networks. In other news (as in, actual news), the cover for Mami Kawada's upcoming album has leaked! http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/I/51YmQwmN42L.jpg I LOVE it. |
KOTOKO will be performing at a-Nation?! Wow, that's awesome!
|
O_O Kawada's cover. omg. I hope it sounds as amazing! I still really only love Linkage from her.
|
^Right?! I'm dying for some previews for the album and praying they will be good. Because I seriously want to buy this if only for the AMAZING covers but that won't be happening if the music doesn't please me.
Oh, and apparently the previous cover was for the limited edition. This picture will be on the regular edition cover: http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/I/51c3emEIANL.jpg Equally stunning. I need those previews yesterday. The tracklist, featuring unusual song titles for her, was also revealed recently. 1. SQUARE THE CIRCLE 2. No buts! 3. my buddy 4. Don't stop me now! 5. Clap!Clap!Clap! 6. Usual… 7. See visonS 8. live a lie 9. Midnight trip // memories of childhood 10. らせん階段 (Rasen Kaidan) 11. F 12. Going back to square one 13. Serment |
Quote:
I may have to listen and buy it. |
Ah, that's great! I hope you'll enjoy Onkalo and maybe come to like Eiko's stuff in general. ^^ I still love the single (even though the 20-year-old b-side os kind of... ugh).
|
Anyone heard SQUARE THE CIRCLE yet? If not, go get it here: http://www.j-mp3.info/2012/08/square...re-circle.html
Opinions? :) |
I kind of liked it but it felt like a lot less experimentation happened unlike in LINKAGE IMO
|
Well, it certainly had a smaller set of genres than LINKAGE but I actually enjoyed the fact that it had a really consistent sound unlike the slightly messy LINKAGE. Actually, this might be the most consistent-sounding I've Sound album, though I guess some stuff could be argued to be even more so.
That said, I think this might be Mami's best album. The trance-rock sound is awesome, I think I've Sound has finally discovered their perfect hybrid of these genres and it sounds so good. I love almost every track, the exceptions would be live a lie (which I can tolerate) and midnight trip//memories of childhood (which I actively loathe because good GOD Takase what possessed you to make this horrible unmelodic piece of garbage you go to your room now and no chocolate for you). And my buddy is my absolute favorite song. It is perfect. It is GOLD. This is what I mean when I say they've created a perfect hybrid of trance and rock. One of the best songs of 2012 right here. I also liked it enough to order the fancy CD+blu ray edition of the album so I better not stop liking it anytime soon. :P EDIT: Bonus treats! I found a review of SQUARE THE CIRCLE, if anyone feels like reading one: http://otaku.collectiondx.com/musicr...-square-circle I do like how positive it is. ;) Also, remember LEVEL OCTAVE? Well, recall it now: the 8th entry in the I've GIRL's COMPILATION series is coming in the very end of this August and in addition to the cover (posted earlier), we now have a complete tracklist! 1. KOTOKO - U make 愛 dream (U make Ai dream) 2. Lia - Light Colors 3. Larval Stage Planning - Rolling Star☆彡 4. KOTOKO - 原罪のレクイエム -Album Mix- (Genzai no Requiem) 5. Rin Asami - lead to the smile 6. Mami Kawada - INITIATIVE 7. Kaori Utatsuki - 永遠 ~小さな光~ (Eien ~Chiisana Hikari~) 8. Kaori Utatsuki - Hold on me ~恋の魔法~ (Koi no Mahou) 9. Airi Kirishima - IN MY WORLD 10. Kaori Utatsuki - ☆虹色ロックンロール♪ (Niji-iro Rock'n'Roll) 11. KOTOKO - *bloom* 12. KOTOKO - Presto 13. Nami Maisaki - piece of my heart 14. MAKO - LEVEL OCTAVE You know it wouldn't be a true I've Compilation if it had less than a fourth of KOTOKO, never mind that she's graduated the group. :P And I'm as surprised as anyone about the-long-gone-surprisinly-returned-last-year MAKO singing the title track! Here's hoping it's not going to be a boring Takase ballad like the last compilation title track. |
*throws self at thread* Oooh! A 8th I've Girls compilation? I'll have to check it out when it's released (even though I've already heard some of those songs). I'm excited to hear MAKO's track. I've always liked her. c:
Listening to Mami's new album now. : D |
Soo, not sure if everyone's heard LEVEL OCTAVE already, but here's the download link in case some people haven't: http://www.mediafire.com/?p3kud461ecqiw7o (thanks to hahnzitow2@I've Sound Forum)
And more news from Eiko Shimamiya: she's going to release another single called "Yellow" at music event M3 on October 28th! |
Mami's Square the Circle is pretty good. Very well produced (as usual). The song that sticks out the most to me is my buddy. (Same as you lol!) The grungy opening is just great.
LEVEL OCTAVE is nice. Nice to hear the tracks I haven't heard. And while LEVEL OCTAVE (the song) isn't the greatest I've Sound song, I'm happy to hear something new from MAKO. : D Yay for new Eiko songs! And is anyone else worried about MELL? I read on the I've Sound forum that she's been gone for so long because of a "illness". :( (I actually had a freaking creepy dream a few days ago where I was looking for MELL and couldn't find her. Yes, I dream about the I've Sound girls sometimes lol.) |
Yes regarding MELL where is she and whats going on with her
She released MIRAGE two years ago and one single after it and she just vanished I was hoping for a new single in 2012 but there is no trace of her Even her web page doesn't have that that much info on the matter |
And her twitter is dead as well. :( It bugs me that I've Sound can't just say what's wrong...
|
Pretty much no one in the fanbase knows what's up with MELL. I think people have even tried asking LSP girls why we haven't heard of her in forever but no real answer has been provided. It's really worrying that we haven't heard anything in almost two years now. I can only hope she doesn't just vanish into thin air with no explanation from anyone like many I've vocalists have in the past. :(
|
A special site for Eiko's M3 appearance has surfaced, featuring a preview of Yellow! (or to be precise, Yellow -1st chapter-) Go check it out here: http://negativecamisolegirl.com/adir/Shimamiya4/ (click the "show detail" button)
I don't know if it's just me being an incurable Eiko stan, but I LOVE this preview. The melody and arrangement are bliss to my ears. However, I think my uneducated ears pick up some notable auto-tuning (do correct me if I'm spouting crap) and I think that might rub people the wrong way - personally, I don't mind it, since I think it goes well with the arrangement. In any case, I'm really excited about this single now. I was kinda fearing yellow would turn out to be a boring-ass ballad (something like Unison. I think that song scarred me a little) when news of the single first came out, but that fear's been thrown out the window. Can't wait to hear this song - and 2nd chapter - in full (assuming there will be some sort of more large-scale release, like with Onkalo, of course...)! |
Quote:
The new Eiko song sounds great! I agree - I'm happy it's upbeat and not a ballad. And yeah, there's definitely auto-tune up in there. Because it sounds like it's done on purpose, I don't think people will mind. It actually reminds me of Q;indivi's remixes. He uses auto-tune for effect. |
It's news time! Featured today: KOTOKO and Mami Kawada (what a surprise)!
KOTOKO's new (and her 19th) kinda-I've single Restart (リスタート) is going to be released on December 19th! I say kinda-I've because it's KOTOKO working with I've producers (Maiko Iuchi on the A-side and C.G Mix on the b-side called "Largo"), but it seems like a one-off special thing. I've singers are just ignoring all the fuss about labels, what with Mami randomly releasing a single under Warner and then returning to Geneon, and now KOTOKO first migrating to WHV for a few releases and then popping back to Geneon to release this single. ANYWAY, previews for both Restart (sounds nice) and Largo (sounds like a more boring Kikoeru, but I wasn't really expecting anything more from C.G Mix), as well as the single's pretty cover, are available on KOTOKO's Geneon site! Then for the Mami news. Mami Kawada is gonna get busy in February, what with her releasing a Best-of album AND a single in consecutive weeks! I don't really get why they're releasing them like this but eh! The best-of album, titled MAMI KAWADA BEST -BIRTH-, will be released on February 13th, comes in a regular version and a limited edition with an extra blu-ray disc containing the live recording from Mami's 2012 Live Tour SQUARE THE CIRCLE. The tracklist contains her Geneon singles (so no Serment, it seems) and her debut song Kaze to Kimi wo Daite and more for 16 songs in total. Now, warning, the following statement contains some good, strong bias: this album already seems waaay better than KOTOKO's compilation. More songs, BETTER songs, way better extras - I'm extremely tempted to preorder this right away just for the live recording - and a better title (okay, that was petty, but I actively despise KOTOKO's compilation's name). I'm really excited for the final tracklist and covers - we only know 12 out of 16 tracks that will be on the album, so we have four wild cards and no idea what they will be (prayer circle for Koubou getting put on this album anyone?)! Oh yeah, I think I mentioned the new single too. Mami's 13th single will be released on the week following her Best-of album, exact date Februare 20th 2013. No title yet, but the song will be the theme song for To Aru Majutsu no Index the Movie (or whatever the title of that thing is). Also, for some reason, the song is also on the best album released one week before the single and I don't really get why but okay?? Seems like there will be no PV, since only one version is listed on Mami's Geneon site. For more info on Mami's new releases (like the unfinished tracklist for the Best-of), visit her Geneon site. And finally, not news but I'll just now officially acknowledge that there seems to be no sign of Eiko's single Yellow ever gracing our lives in any form. Oh why couldn't it get the Onkalo treatment. :'C EDIT: I Google Translate'd stuff and I got the impression that out of the four unknown songs on MAMI KAWADA BEST -BIRTH-, at least one will be new and some will be "songs from popular tie-up games", meaning eroge songs. Still hoping Koubou will somehow end up there. Also, I just now noticed, where's Prophecy? What, was that single not succesful enough to be included? Seems weird that it's not there at all. Serment too. |
That's interesting... A new single and a BEST album coming up in 2013...
|
Quote:
I'm always so late with news about these girls lol. Also, thanks for the updates :) |
This whole swapping back and forth between labels is confusing!
But awww I love KOTOKO's new covers! She looks adorable! |
Yeah, seriously, why are they not sticking to one label. @_@ I really thought KOTOKO's Geneon contract had already expired.
In other news... OH MY GOD THERE'S GOING TO BE A SECOND VOLUME OF 5 TEARS. I LOVED THE FIRST ONE SO SO SO MUCH I AM SO READY FOR THIS RELEASE OMG I THINK I NEED TO GET IT RIGHT NOW OH YEAH COVER EXISTS http://services.2012nov.akibablog.ne.../29/va/108.jpg This thing's gonna be released in Comiket 83 (29.-31.12.2012) and it's probably going to be a mini album again, but I'm not sure about that (just what I gathered from Google Translating her blog post). What I AM sure about, however, is that once again, there are five singers involved. We don't yet know who, though. But I am so stoked for this release like seriously. I wonder how I could order this asap... |
WHOO 5TEARS 2
I'm glad I checked this thread. <3 |
More info available! Let us rejoice!
The singers involved on this volume have been announced! They are: SHIHO, Lia, Aoi Tada, Umi Torihata and Eiko Shimamiya herself. Eiko, SHIHO and Lia probably need little introduction, but I'll mention that Aoi Tada is a voice-actress-become-singer who's had a couple of joint singles with Lia. Umi Torihata is an unfamiliar name. Musicians involved include: - Seiichi Kyoda (he's been involved in arranging a bunch of I've songs, including Eiko's Akizora no Kanata and Kyuudou no Hito's original version from Endless Loop and Hikarinadeshiko and Asunaro no Ki from Hikari Nadeshiko and KOTOKO's Akai Tama Aoi Tama) - Kenji Arai (involved in KOTOKO's Digital Snail and LSP's best song Chapter.5) - Shinji Orito (composer behind songs like Kaze no Tadoritsuku Basho, Lia's Tori no Uta and Light Colors, KOTOKO's Shooting Star, Mami's Sora no Mori de and Precious) - Tomohisa Furushima (arranged JUPITER and Nichijou aka two of the top tracks on the original 5TEARS) - Other unfamiliar names (Kensuke Yamauchi, Hiroake Ohno, Yukihiro Shingai) Info from Eiko's official site (http://www.eiko-shimamiya.com). |
And still zero information about MELL's existence :-(
|
Shinji Orito yay! I love him so much. Tori no Uta has been one of my fave songs since 2004.
And :( about MELL... C'mon MELL, come back happy & healthy... WE LOVE YOU! |
I think we're at the point where we can only hope MELL does come back one day. :( Since it's been almost two years of silence, I don't think there's much sense in holding our breaths for a speedy comeback. I'm just hoping for a sudden surprise comeback á la MAKO sometime in the future (hopefully sooner than seven years since disappearing; that's how long MAKO took to come back).
Wait, have I mentioned that I've is also going to be at Comiket 83? I don't think I did. Well, they'll also be there and their set includes "MAKO Original Album" and a calendar (everyone's selling calendars: Eiko's set has one, Key set has one...). That's all we know for now, however. Maybe that's why I forgot to mention the whole thing while fanboying over 5TEARS vol 2. Speking of which, the album's tracklist and credits have been revealed! Here they are, accompanied by my amateurish transliterations and translations. All compositions and lyrics by Eiko Shimamiya. 1. 青秋18切符 (Aoaki 18 Kippu? ... B-blue autumn 18 tickets?? I have no actual idea help) Vocals: Eiko Shimamiya Arrangement: Shinji Orito 2. ジェイドの龍 (Jade no Ryu, Jade Dragon) Vocals: Umi Torihata Arrangement: Tomohisa Furushima 3. Distance Vocals: SHIHO Arrangement: Kenji Arai 4. ピチカートの涙 (Pizzicato no Namida, Pizzicato's Tears) Vocals: Aoi Tada Arrangement: Kensuke Yamauchi 5. リピカ (Lipica) Vocals: Eiko Shimamiya Arrangement: Seiichi Kyoda 6. フリルの風 (Furiru no Kaze) Vocals: Eiko Shimamiya Arrangement: Hiroaki Ohno & Yukihiro Shingai 7. Infini Vocals: Lia Arrangement: Tomohisa Furushima I was surprised to see Lipica there since it's already been released on some eroge soundtrack. Furiru no Kaze is also an eroge theme but it hasn't been released anywhere yet, so it's even more surprising to see it appear here. With this info released, I'm most excited for the first track (thanks to Shinji Orito), Jade no Ryu and Infini (because of Tomohisa Furushima) and Distance (because SHIHO and Kenji Arai sound like a really good combination). I'm kinda hoping Infini will be something like JUPITER from the first 5TEARS, but with Lia's vocals... :heart |
Haha, as I type this post I'm listening to verge again. I really like the old compilations.
You're right about MELL sadly. She probably will just disappear. I really hope she comes back though. DON'T BE A AKI. SERIOUSLY. So MAKO is releasing a album? Is it just a compilation of her old works or will it have new songs? And looking forward to Lia and SHIHO's 5Tears 2 songs. |
It's an original mini-album! Or, well, as much of a mini-album as Ayu's again. Four new songs and a new arrangement for LEVEL OCTAVE. The album's titled snow flake and on the cover there's actually a picture of MAKO's face! It's pretty surprising considering she's pretty much been faceless so far; they even shut off the cameras in the TRIBAL LINK live broadcast when MAKO was performing.
The cover and apparently the calendar included in I've's set? http://c83.product.co.jp/common/main...main_image.png Tracklist and credits: * All vocals and lyrics by MAKO. 01. Live Trip Composition & Arrangement: Kazuya Takase 02. snow flake Composition & Arrangement: Tomoyuki Nakazawa 03. Precious Composition & Arrangement: Kazuya Takase 04.虹 (Niji; Rainbow) Composition: MAKO Arrangement: Kazuya Takase 05.LEVEL OCTAVE -Unplugged Mix- Composition: Kazuya Takase Arrangement: Kazuya Takase, Tomoyuki Nakazawa and Kazumi Yagi |
She's... she's beautiful. *_* And original songs!? This is making me so happy! I really hope I can get this cd... somehow lol.
I've always loved MAKO's voice. Bite on the Bullet. :love |
Previews for 5TEARS vol. 2 available on Eiko's official site (http://www.eiko-shimamiya.com/)! Go take a listen!
EDIT: My stream-of-consciousness style thoughts on the previews. This mini-album sounds very happy. Not like the first one wasn't, but this second volume is even more cheery and more upbeat. The first track already seems to hint at that direction. I love it! It reminds me of a Perfect World song (think Haruzora or Sunny Place), but done in a more interesting way (I really liked Sunny Place though!). Only Lipica sounds somewhat more... serious. Maybe Jade no Ryu too... Actually, the second time I'm hearing it, wow, I love Jade no Ryu's preview. It might turn out to be what Nichijou was to the original 5TEARS. Umi Torihata's voice sounds interesting... not sure if I'm going to love it... I noticed yesterday that she had set up a Twitter account, btw. SHIHO's track is totally different than I was expecting, lol. I really like her vocals though. Aoi Tada's song, on the other hand, sounds EXACTLY like I expected. It's maybe somewhat like Carnation on the previous volume. Furiru no Kaze sounds like very run-of-the-mill stuff. And wow, talk about saving the best for the last. Lia's vocals on Infini are... radiant! That's what comes to my mind. It's like I had forgotten she sounds so beautiful. This might be the best song she's done in years (which is not saying much considering how active she's been lately...)! The arrangement sounds amazing and the melody interesting. It's not the trancy blast I was hoping for (like, say, JUPITER), but it mightbe even better than that track would have been. This sounds so great. I ****ing love Tomohisa Furushima. How are his arrangements so GOOD?! I need to hear more stat. I don't think this volume will turn out to be as good as the first one... but the more I listen, the more I'm starting to like pretty much everything. Seriously contemplating buying this... While I ponder 5TEARS2's quality, have some more previews! These are for MAKO's mini album: http://ive.mu/news/121208.html. EDIT vol. 2: I really like MAKO's singing on this album. Her older songs suffer from sounding really samey and I don't think she got to have any versality. This problem was starting to get fixed on her later songs and that trend continues. She's not going from one extreme to another like KOTOKO has done, but she's not singing the same old song with the same old vocals so much anymore. Moving on, I'm pretty sure the track previews are in the wrong order on the preview file we get. Because everything about the first song sounds SO MUCH like Nakazawa (now that I think about it, it sounds a lot like the song Nakazawa did for Yanaginagi, Vidro Moyou (if you haven't heard that one yet, you need to hear it now, it's such a lovely song!)) and then the second preview sound EXACTLY like inner child there's NO WAY that is not Takase's work listen to those synth strings! The third snippet also sounds very Takase-ish (kinda similar to the original LEVEL OCTAVE actually) and the fourth one is DEFINITELY the unplugged mix of LEVEL OCTAVE but that's supposed to come last! And so I have no idea what song the last preview is from but it sounds kinda dull I'm gonna go ahead and say this preview is from Precious because that's a boring enough track title to deserve something that sounds like this. This really reminds me of MAKO's older songs so nostalgia factor yay? I think this song will need that redeeming quality because it doesn't sound very interesting. And so, uhm, the song I THINK is snow flake sounds very good, the unplugged LEVEL OCTAVE sounds awfully interesting and at least one of the remaining three Takase tracks sounded kinda nice! ... I think. Ugh, WHY couldn't they just put separate previews under the song titles?! Or have a player similar to the one on Eiko's site? Or... something. This is just confusing. Also, a new Outer single will be released at KOTOKO's Countdown Live concert. The titular song, RISE-UP!, sounds terribly tame. If interested in finding out more, go here: http://outer.ive.mu/. |
5TEARS2 and snow flake leaked! Currently uploading to MF and listening to 5TEARS2. This is pretty good stuff.
Also, the title track of Mami's 16th single is called FIXED STAR. No further info of the song is currently out, but the name of the coupling song has also been revealed: intersection. Hopefully we'll get more info and some previews soon. EDIT: 5TEARS vol. 2 and snow flake. Got the files thanks to |
I'm excited to listen. Thank you :heart

For those who wanted news about MELL... Unfortunately, I have nothing good. :( MELL is now officially leaving I've and her last release will be a best album called Entrust ~the name of MELL~. The release date is March 20th and the tracklist has been revealed.
1. Red fraction 2. RIDEBACK 3. Virgin's high! 4. Proof 5. Start of the strongest ~我今、最下層にて~ (Waga Ima, Saikasou ni te) 6. Noblest love 7. 空より近い夢 (Sora Yori Chikai Yume) 8. kicks! 9. MY PRECIOUS 10. 美しく生きたい (Utsukushiku Ikitai) 11. SCOPE 12. EMPTY (new song) 13. In the name of love (new song) The tracklist is tragic. This whole release is so sad. I don't want MELL to go yet -- and I don't want her to ever go with a release this bad. T_T In happier news, Kaori Utatsuki finally has a new major release coming up! About time, too, it's been almost four years since SPYGLASS. The new mini-album is coming out the same day as MELL's farewell, March 20th. I hope she brings some good stuff. Lastly, Mami's best album's final tracklist has been revealed. I approve of the choices. 1. radiance 2. Hishoku no Sora 3. Akai Namida 4. Get my way! 5. JOINT 6. PSI-missing 7. masterpiece 8. No buts! 9. See visionS 10. Serment 11. Borderland 12. FIXED STAR (new song) 13. Kaze to Kimi wo Daite -2013 ver.- 14. eclipse 15. Asu e no Namida 16. BIRTH (new song) Go to Mami's Geneon website for a glimpse at the (unimpressive) covers and to hear out previews for the album! EDIT: MELL's best album now has a special site. |
Yay ,'' new '' album from MELL
Although i could cope up with a better selection of songs for a best album. And if it's a farewell release why not release it as a 2CD + DVD she has a fair amount of PV right? And why did they NOT include Kara no Tsubomi in the tracklist in the first place? I am so pissed with this release, not because it's a best album but because the selection of songs is utterly lazy. |
^While we're at it, HOW is no vain not there?! It's an a-side, has a PV and is one of MELL's best songs! And where is Sabaku no Yuki? I'm pretty sure it's a big fan favorite and a great song in general. Ugh. So many things wrong with the tracklist. x_x At least the cover for this release is nice.
http://www.ivesound.jp/discography/image/mell/best.jpg Also, more news on Kaori Utatsuki's second mini album: the cover and tracklist (with credits) are out, as well as the news that Kaori is also graduating from I've with this release. Not really a surprise anymore, but ugh, who's even left in I've anymore?! Anyway, the mini album is titled GOING ON and has a special site where you can see some pretty pictures of Kaori, info on the album and listen to the previews for all tracks. (Spoiler: they sound pretty dull.) Anyway, special site here: http://ive.mu/utatsuki_sp/ http://ive.mu/utatsuki_sp/sound/jack.jpg All tracks written and composed by Kaori Utatsuki. 1. 蕾 (Tsubomi) Arranged by SORMA No.1 2. 君がくれたコトバ (Kimi ga Kureta Kotoba) Arranged by Tomoyuki Nakazawa 3. セツナ (Setsuna) Arranged by Shoji Morifuji 4. 予感 (Yokan) Arranged by Maiko Iuchi 5. 雫の刻 (Shizuka no Koku) Arranged by Takeshi Ozaki 6. GOING ON ~光へ~ (GOING ON ~Hikari e~) Arranged by Kazuya Takase With all these graduation news popping up, I'm just surprised Mami Kawada hasn't already declared she's also jumping ships in the wake of her best album being released. Also, speaking of Mami, I FINALLY managed to rip my SQUARE THE CIRCLE and BEST -BIRTH- bonus discs and I was wondering if anyone's interested in seeing the material on them? I already have the MAKING OF SQUARE THE CIRCLE documentary uploaded so just let me know if you want to see it (or any of the other material on those discs)! |
Again this whole BEST of album release for MELL is a such missed opportunity it's like I've sound doesn't even care,it seems like lets just release best of album without any special approach to it and ditch MELL what-so-ever
Even I had made my own custom MELL best album on my iPod since i was so pissed with the lazy and uninspiring official tracklist |
MELL and Kaori's last I've albums, in case someone wants to grab them and hasn't yet: Entrust ~the name of MELL~ and GOING ON. (from http://jmp3up.info/)
GOING ON was less horribly boring than I had expected, but still lame. I still haven't listened to MELL's album, but I do need to hear the new tracks. |

SO GUESS WHAT I RECEIVED TODAY! Super happy~! Anyone interested in rips and stuff? |
Thanks but i am more interested in booklet scans for ENTRUST the name of MELL
I still can not believe that MELL just released her last album The info is scarce but could the reason for retirement be that mysterious illness that Mell has? The new tracks are good My favorites are EMPTY and Sora Yori Chikai Yume 2013 version |
Can I buy snow flake anywhere? It's not on the site I normally use (cdjapan). Kaori's new album is on there though. I'm tempted to get it because I like her. And I definitely want to get MELL's best of album because 1) new tracks and 2) I don't own any MELL material (besides for a couple of songs from the compilations).
And I'm really sad about MELL and Kaori leaving. KOTOKO, Eiko, and now these two... It feels like I've Sound is falling apart. :no edit: I need to listen to 5TEARS 2 lol! |
@MeltingCORE: I don't know about snow flake... It's a Comiket item, so it may not be very easy to get. It was sold online here in the beginning of March, but I think that was just for people living in Japan; I got my copy of 5TEARS vol. 2 from the same sale, but I had to use a middleman service and everything. At the moment, your best bet for getting it are probably auction sites - I took a quick look and it was available in a couple of places. However, it might pop up somewhere later, like the original 5TEARS did - it appeared out of nowhere on CDJapan last July.
@axmish: If you're still looking for scans of MELL's best album - I got them when I downloaded the album here. There's a lot of text and and not many pictures, so enjoy reading. :P There's also a message from MELL herself: http://ive.mu/mell/message.html I think she mentions something about the reasons for leaving I've and an illness does come up. That's pretty much all I know about the contents though, I haven't seen a translation and can't read enough Japanese to get pretty much anything out of it. :( In other news, I finally listened to the MELL best album and the new tracks are indeed good! In The Name Of Love was unexpected, but I really enjoyed it and EMPTY was some of the best stuff C.G Mix has made in a good while. Sora yori Chikai Yume's new version was a nice update to the original, though nothing groundbreaking. |
