well that message has already been up since 2004 (not sure if before too, but I wanted to join Dears around that time) Gackt-sama knows he has a lot overseas fans but always the japanese are favored

Hmm, I asked my Japanese friend about this (he stays there every summer) and he says part of the reason is because they're afraid of the possible spam/junk BBS posts and stuff from foreign fans. Also, I think it'd be more expensive for them to send stuff overseas and stuff, though I think that problem would be remedied by just increasing the membership cost for foreigners...Gackt's stuff costs an arm and a leg already, so I don't know why they're not jumping at the chance to rake in even more money.

I just watched Drug Party. Small scene and no special effects or costume changes etc but I really loved it, G's voice in top form :heart yet he couldn't resist kissing some female dancers (through masks but still...) :p

I am downloading the dvd right now. I think it is a great concert but I can't stand what he and the girl dancers do in storm and Papa lapped a papa lopped. Really nasty. He's a whole lot better than that.

After watching the Drug Party lives, I'd have to say that I am VERY DISAPPOINTED that he lip-sang some parts, namely, "Lu:na". Did anyone notice that the live sounded EXACTLY the same as the original track? The vocals are the same, and there were no changes in pitch as he moved around, which should happen. I know that he lip-sang this song before (during an episode of Heyx3, 2002 tour, etc), but I really hoped he would sing it live this time, like he did during the 2004 tour. Sigh.

REALLY? He lip-syncs??? NOOOOOOOOOO! >.< Gackt really doesn't seem like the kind of artist that would lip-sync. are you sure? He is really good vocally on this concert so maybe he just sounded like original track quality... please don't tell me my Gacchin lip-syncs! >.<

^ Trust me, I know when he's honestly good and when he's lip-synching...example of flawless live is "Last Song" during the Sixth Day Seventh Night tour...that's the performance with him playing piano. "Oasis" was also perfect during that tour. Both were live because they sounded way different from the recorded version; I can tell because the vocals sound great but not EXACTLY THE SAME as the track, in which they were with Lu:na. I listened to the live and the track over and over to compare :(

I love him as much as you do but he just cannot sing Lu:na live it seems. The one time I saw him singing it live it was horribly nasally. I guess he just knows his strengths and weaknesses and is choosing to lip-sync when necessary.

oh well, i guess you can't always b the perfect performer... >.<
but I do adore Gackt... I hope he comes to US soon...

Monday, August 13th from 12:00~13:00 (1PM to 2PM) on Fuji Television's Series "Waratte Iitomo!". I will be a guest on the show's "Telephone Shocking Corner" and will perform.

That's the gist of it. "Waratte Iitomo" is the show that had that one episode of Ayu calling Gackt ^^ The "Telephone Shocking Corner" segment is probably when they prompt the guest to call a fellow celebrity like we saw before XD

I honestly don't think he actually lip synchs durring the concerts, but that the DVDs that get released are heavily edited to make his voice perfect.

Makes sense. That still isn't very good either; why bother singing live anyway if you're going to re-dub your own voice completely later? =| Especially since he's such a great singer in the first place; I don't think he needs to edit that much.

well, he does not lipsych, BUT, in the songs REDEMPTION and ash.... they are sooo the same as the cd version!!!!! perhaps they edited the audio after... it's strange to sing the whole concert without two songs...

perhaps they had to edited because of some problems of recordings...

Actually, I don't think Gackt's live tours are the only ones that are edited. I believe that some of Ayu's lives on DVD are also edited. Sometimes it might not have to do with how good his vocals but it might also have to do with the sound system and everything, especially if he's going to be moving and the mic isn't really perfect.

I agree with Kikaru...I've never watched a Gackt live, but I have seen plenty of Ayu (and other artists too) lives and I think they do go back in and edit the performances. Personally, I'm glad they do because to me there is NOTHING worse than a squeaking microphone, deep breaths, and overemphasized loudness.

Yes, I'm fully aware that other DVDs are editted. However, you can still clearly recognize that the song is being sung live. For example, in AT06 and the performance of "Bold & Delicious", you can clearly hear Ayu's voice crack during the first verse. And the lives sound dramatically different than the recorded version. Trust me, I played the supposed live of Lu:na at Drug Party right on top of the recorded version on "The Sixth Day" and they're identical.

That's overkill IMO. :rolleyes

btw, other reasons of dvd editing may be the audience itself. In the concert of KOKIA in Paris they made a wonderful job removing very innappropiate sounds from public that would have ruined the experience of see songs like Chouwa-oto with reflection, live.

Gackt to release "Gundam album"

On December 19, Gackt will release an album titled "0079-0088." It will contain eight tracks, all of which are related to "Mobile Suit Gundam."

Gackt is known as a huge Gundam fan, having memorized much of the dialogue and being able to imitate the main characters' voices. He also provided a total of five theme songs for the three "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam" movies in 2005 and 2006.

In addition to those five songs, Gackt's album includes three covers of Gundam tunes: "Suna no Juujika," "Ai Senshi," and "Meguriai." This will be the first time he has released a cover song.

Gackt plans to perform his version of "Ai Senshi" for the first time on next week's broadcast of "Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ."
