Precious gemstone for you, right? Because Dearest is MUCH MUCH more popular than Rainy Days and Dearest is one of her classic songs, for her peak period, while Rainy Days is just a cover from Sweetbox. I agree it's a very good song, but most fans would preffer Dearest on the album.

IMO, AVEX decided to take the info out because it was too early and the new tracks were still without an official name.

good thing that the songs in these albums are from evolution- Bold & delicious hopefully people will still buy the secret album. I am hoping that she doesn't rearrange or add new vocal in any of the songs in the tracklist.

Also, although I love Dearest to pieces and it is surely one of her greatest songs, it's already on A Ballads. I would have liked it if they had put a different song in its place.

Since Dearest was already on A BALLADS (as was Voyage), maybe they're doing special mixes or re-recordings for these? It just seems redundant to have them both on two BEST albums (as I consider BALLADS a best).

Well, I like the song selection; thanks ot the color-coding, you can tell it's pretty evenly distributed. But with official PVs ALREADY out, BLACK is only missing "HANABI" and "NEVER EVER"; while WHITE is missing "July 1st", "independent", "UNITE!", and "A Song is born".

To be honest, I never would have thought of A Song is born.

The CD tracklist is pretty good! Some are suprising and some I'm like "YES! Totally belongs there!"

why is ourselves in the white version. the PV, lyrics and music just scream to be put on the black version. same goes for Moments, that's more of a depressing song then an uplifting one a la UNITE or something.

but I am really, really happy About you made it. That is my favorite song. I'm dumbfounded on some choices over others though....a lot of the songs weren't great hits anyway like independent. Why isn't RAINBOW there? Duty? M? ever free? Memorial Address? I am..? Those songs easily fit the 'troubled mood' theme that the black one has, more then dearest or walking proud.

Gah for the 1000th time, the timeframe of the best album is from evolution up until Bold & Delicious/Pride. That's why there's no Duty, M, or ever free. They were candidates for A BEST and only M made it.

Well first of all the songs are only selected from "evolution" through "Bold & Delicious/Pride", so that eliminates "M" and "Duty". Now "ever free" was a B-side to start with so I HIGHLY doubt that'd be on the album especially since "Bold & Delicious/Pride" didn't make it on either of the Best Ofs. Lastly I don't think any of the title tracks would really work on the best of... but I was surprised by "walking proud" being on the compilation. That should have been switched out with "alterna".

Hmm I also wonder what their gonna do with "NEVER EVER" and "A Song is born" considering neither have PVs.

Since "walking proud" is included I hope we get a new rendition of it, but it is one of my favorite ballads so I don't mind it being featured on the disc.

I don't understand why people want alterna on this BEST collection. Okay, yes, it's an awesome song. But if you ask me, I don't really think alterna really fits the definition of "A BEST."

A Song is born is a touching song, though I don't understand the whole walking proud thing either. Maybe because it has a PV? Whatever, I'm still happy. :tbiggrin

The only one that kinda shocked me in being included is 'a song is born', but I'm very happy that it is. I wonder if that is going to be re-recorded, or if its going to the version with KEIKO or whatever (hopefully not).

GAME and is this LOVE, while they were "second" a-sides, they were performed live at some point on television [I don't think album-focused concerts really count..] during the single's release.. so maybe it was the case for this best too? Actually, I don't think these reviews are "mixed," it's just that a lot of people were expecting a few other songs.

Being a best, she's included JUST ABOUT every single song that she's made over the 19-single span between evolution and B&D [except for B&D and forgiveness] and a few album tracks that have their own promotional videos. I don't really see what anyone could see wrong with these lists in the first place..

if you put the songs Dolls, Close to you, and Dearest all on, one after another, i wouldnt be able to tell oyu which was which. They are some of the few songs i dont know really well. [Mostl i dont know lovePPEARS and A Soing for XX songs] but yeah i know all the songs from I am .. on with only the exceptions of the songs i named above.

If there is no Dearest in this BEST Album, then HANABI will not also be in the BEST because they both were in A BALLADS, two different singles, remixed album, and so on.

Yeah, I don't see why Dearest shouldn't be on it. Just because some people are sick of the song, I think it's probably her biggest classic from 2001 up until now. It's probably the song that a majority of the Japanese public would recognize.

trust me, there are some people who do read every post, and yours is just as valuable as the next.

I really do not agree with Dearest being there though. While I like every ayu song, this one is at the bottom of the list for me, it just can get really annoying. I would have left it out and put in alterna and rearranged the tracklist.

I guess, yes, probably the biggest reason why we don't want Dearest to be on it is because we're sick of it, but I also think that perhaps that the song was put on the album may not have been her move, unless she just loves it that much, however, yes, the fact that Dearest is there, is to be expected.

RAINBOW is amazing, and I thought it was going to be on here too, but there really isn't a reason to feature it.. it would've been some lone album-fodder in the middle of all the other album's tracks :\

I don't know...I kind of got the feeling that they did, from all her fans, and then once, I remember when I watched it live for the first time, I remarked to martin about the cheering from the audience when alterna started, and he replied with something like, "you should have been there, you have no idea..."

maybe I just kind of got the impression that everyone really loved this song, of course he was among tons of ayu fans, as are we now, so I have no idea.

I really think RAINBOW deserves for a place on this upcoming BEST... However, to make the people feeling satisfy for owning A BALLADS, it shouldn't be on A BEST 2 then.. I mean, many people would buy A BALLADS just because of this song. I didn't buy it because I think it's not worthing... I have A BEST already and there're quite a few songs appeared again on A BALLADS (e.g., SEASONS, TO BE, etc.)

I'm thankful that the majority of the singles and album tracks with PVs made it.

But I'm a bit bitter over the exclusion of ANGEL'S SONG.

yes im one of those that is happy with dearest being there. :D For me the black version has a better tracklist than the white...simply coz I dont really like greatful days and fairyland...but I rather have those than bold and delicious, pride. :dead2 Im very pleased with walking proud, my names women, daybreak, ourselves, etc being there...I have not purchased my copy of memorial address so I dont have pvs of some of those songs there...so this is good for me :D 15 tracks is good for me....A BEST had 16...just one track short but thats ok.

Either way, if I do buy them, there is no way I'm buying the Japan versions. It's just too much for songs I already have!

It's marketing, :( . They better had something new in the WHITE version, or else I doubt anyone would've bothered to buy that version since all the songs have already appeared in previous albums.

Don't forget the new pictures, covers and bragging rights you get along with the music :P

edit: remember WHITE also comes with the CDL DVD version, which will be a lot HQ than the TV version. plus that's the same with all BEST albums. It's all old stuff, yet they still sell so well.

So that they can get a "taste" of everything.

The chief reason she uses so many tracks off MY STORY is that this album was her most successful album in in the 2004 year, which sold a million copies and it was quite rare to see such a success after the emergence of mp3~~~~ In order to celebrate and to bear in mind such a worthwhile moment, she uses so many MY STORY tracks^^~ (just take a guess)

I agree with you, this is marketing. Avex uses the SELLING CONCEPT in the marketing philosophies as they focus on heavy promotion and selling effort. They seek for existing buyers and selling them their existing products in particular the benefits in order to gain profit via sales volume.

They knew this time they have to satisfy their EXISTING customers, by providing old songs they want to emphasize that AYU's songs are superb and nobody hate listening (benefits of existing products).~~ haah~
