Justin on Madonna

Quote:

But before then, he is continuing a new-found collaboration with queen of pop Madonna.

The exiting pairing has already produced five songs - a couple of R'n'B numbers and a couple of dance records.

Justin said: "Some of the dance stuff hasn't the in-your-face energy of Hung Up but it's got this mellow R'n'B thing on top of dance accompaniment which Timbaland is doing the beats for.

"It's all still in demo phases and I don't know if it'll be an album but four or five songs will make really good records."
I hope the dance tracks are the ones to end up on the album and that they aren't too mellow.

Vinylfantasy 20th June 2007 09:13 PM

I know M never does the same thing twice, but damn I sure hope it has Bedtime Stories-esque elements in it. That's probably my favorite M album if I had to choose.

Well, that's the kind of mellow I could love. Something that sounds a bit like Secret?

Vinylfantasy 20th June 2007 09:20 PM

Yes, something like Secret would be great! My favorites from Bedtime Stories are Sanctuary, Inside of Me, and Love Tried To Welcome Me. Those of course are the really mellow tracks but they're just too beautiful.

It's been a while since I listened to Bedtime Stories, I'll have to do that again soon because now this has got me thinking about how much I liked the overall quality of the album. Confessions was great with the return to dance and I've loved dance/"attitude" tracks like Express Yourself and Vogue, but I think Bedtime Stories might be Madonna's most beautiful album. The lyrics and mood just strike me as unique for Madonna, wonderfully ethereal and occasionally even a bit unsettling and edgy. And Take a Bow is perfection; I don't think her voice has ever sounded more lovely.

If the Justin collaboration leads to a return to something like Bedtime Stories, I'm afraid that despite not being a fan of his I'm going to have to approve of his influence on her music.

bondingo 21st June 2007 06:19 AM

I pretty much only liked the singles on Bedtime Stories, so if this stuff would sound like anything off that album, I'd want it to be those tracks. Confessions was probably my favorite album of hers, with American Life in second, so I'd kind of like her to stick with that stuff, but then again, she really doesn't do anything twice. I don't know what to expect now. I do know that I'm getting awfully tired of waiting though, because we haven't gotten anything really new from her in quite awhile (Hey You not included).

Vinylfantasy 21st June 2007 09:13 PM

EXCLUSIVE - Drowned Madonna can reveal that during her latest trip to New York, Madonna had a meeting and a dinner with Warner. Guy Oseary and Angela Becker were there.

They discussed possible release options for her new album - whether there will be a release this year or next year. Madonna would like to release her new album this year, alongside October-November, because she would like to tour next year.

Anyway, there is not a DEFINITIVE release date as of yet.

We also have been told that there are already 8 songs in the mixing studio and there will be an exclusive listening within the next months - 3 songs - to only Warner executives.

Furthermore, Madonna does NOT include "Hey You" in the tracklist for now, but they are discussing whether adding it as a bonus track or not. Anyway, the new album will be very different from "Hey You".
I REALLY hope she tours next year, I'm saving already.

TeamAyu 30th June 2007 07:58 AM

This news sounds great! I better start saving now too because I am absolutely not missing her next tour like I did with the "Confessions Tour".

Cyria 30th June 2007 10:14 AM

Oct/Nov album would be great.

Vinylfantasy 30th June 2007 10:25 AM

She's gonna get hosed again for awards though like COADF did since she released it around the same time. :(

I don't know much about music awards, is it so bad to release an album late in the year? Oscar winners are almost always winter releases.

Vinylfantasy 1st July 2007 09:20 PM

I remember COADF was released back in November and then it was going up against albums that were released right before all these different awards shows much later. Obviously the things that were up and coming were slated to do better since COADF was basically chucked to the back of the bandwagon due to the much earlier release date. This is also the US after all and a dance record is regarded much differently these days. The electronic sound usually pales in comparison to the R&B dance style.

This bit of news posted by "Immaculate" at the Madonnatribe forums is regarding the new song Annie Lennox had recorded which claims to be a duet with Madonna. Other sources have mentioned that this song actually has a number of women artists singing along on this track other than just Madonna. I guess we'll have wait and see which is the case. I hope this bit of news is accurate because it would be cool to have the two doing a duet alone together, but either way, it's awesome to know these women got together and recorded what sounds like a beautiful song. Thanks to "Immaculate" for making this known:

Quote:

Posted: Sun Jul 01, 2007 11:09 pm Post subject: Exclusive - Sing My Sister INFO
Madonna Tribe has just heard fantastic news about the recently rumoured duet between Annie Lennox and Madonna. We are happy to report for the first time online (meaning that this info is not available anywhere online as we speak) that the song is titled "Sing My Sister" and that it can be described as an uptempo ballad.

Madonna was the natural choice to take a part to this song as it opens with the voice of an African woman calling for an implementation of the hiv mother to child transmission prevention programme in South African hospitals.

Annie starts the song saying "Sing My Sister Sing" on a piano loop and then Madonna comes in after a couple of minutes for what can be called more a "special appearance" than a real duet song. Her part (basically the bridge of the song) is reminiscent of similar appearances in "Sidewalk Talk" or "Get Over"

The song is an hymn to the women of the world reminding them that "woman kind" is strong and they have to let their voices be heard.

We have also been told the song, (lasting a bit more than four and a half minutes), ends in fade with an "African Chant", something similar to "Lion King" songs.

Norrel 4th July 2007 12:27 PM

Just recently bought Erotica.
I'm sorry.. but this album really is not that good ._.
As with most Madonna albums, I only like most of the singles and hits, and none of the album tracks. I think all of the songs are really slow, and have that kind of "sleezy sound", and songs you would hear in a sleezy place. I know its kind of intended, but... I thought I would've been surprised.

I think the whole SEX book re why this album has so much recognization. If there was no SEX book, this album would probably not have as much recognization as it does.
Sorry if my choice of words aren't the best.

edit: Nevermind. I judge waay to quickly.

Plus, I can't get the freaking cd booklet back into the case XD
It folds so weird!

Actually, I kind of agree with the original statement. Not on all of her albums, but at least with anything prior to Ray of Light. Everything after that was pretty much gold, but before that I only liked the album tracks. Anytime I listen to Bedtime Stories, I always skip to the singles and nothing else :\

Haha, yay, I'm not alone.

I think the only album of hers, where I can actually listen to every song and not act like I'm just forcing myself to listen to it, is probably the Confessions CD.
I really love Like It Or Not, Push, and Let It Will Be :D

Meh, the original version of Music sounds sooo empty once you hear it after listening to Music Inferno all the time x_x

I'm listening to "Open Your Heart" right now. I LOVE that song from her Blond Ambition Tour. They play "Angel" "Holiday" "Lucky Star" "Borderline" and some other Madge songs on the radio at my work, so my coworkers and I always sing and dance when it comes on!

Speaking of which, I have to work in 10 minutes so I'd better go.

Cyria 27th July 2007 04:42 PM

The clip is so short and the sound so bad, I can't really form an opinion of the song.

We also told you that there was going to be an exclusive listening - 3 songs - to only Warner executives.

Drowned Madonna has learnt that this listening has already happened. As we told you, Warner executives have heard 3 tracks so far. One has HIT written all over it, and it wasn’t "Candy Shop".

They also talked about a TENTATIVE release date, which is due on October 29, 2007.

Furthermore, as we already confirmed on our community, Madonna is IN TALKS with director Chris Applebaum to direct a video.

Just file this under unsubstantiated and possibly true but fun reading material either way. It gives us a sense on where things are going.

Here is some info on the songs Madonna has reportedly been working on for her new album!

ALL tracks are in DEMO stages and unfinished. The Candy Store clip that leaked is an EARLY demo, and the song went through a dramatic change, apparently.

Here is the LATEST list of the 2007 RECORDING SESSIONS:

************************************************
************************************************
************************************************

01. Sleep Deprivation
02. Turn It Up
03. Going Down
04. Little Thang (feat Justin Timberlake)
05. It’s The Beat
06. Tight Fit
07. Black
08. Off The Hook (feat Timbaland)
09. Candy Store (feat Pharrell)
10. Eleven Minutes
11. Do I Care
12. Freelancer.34
13. U n M
14. Starlight
15. Hit It Hard
16. Got This Down Right

************************************************
************************************************
************************************************

Now, here is some additional info on the album:

*** SLEEP DEPRIVATION is a favorite by both Madonna, the producers and the label. VERY LIKELY to become a single. Apparently it’s ‘’revolutionary and fierce'’.

*** GOING DOWN has really raunchy lyrics, and it started as a joke. Timberlake worked on it with Madonna.

*** The rumored title PRETTY LITTLE THANG is in fact called LITTLE THANG and it includes a verse by JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. It’s a ‘’midtempo summer jam with a fresh beat'’

*** BLACK is the rumored track called WIZZLE, and it’s ‘’organic, crazy and it will rumble your worlds'’

*** The rumored track called THE BEAT GOES ON is actually called IT’S THE BEAT.

*** OFF THE HOOK is the Timbaland collaboration. Two were recorded, another one he’s saving for his next solo record. Single possibly, the executives loved it.

*** CANDY STORE probably WONT be on the record, along with HIT IT HARD and DO I CARE. Apparently, Madonna is ‘’over them'’.

*** FREELANCER.34 is ‘’very experimental'’ and still completely unfinished. Might become a sort of intro or outro to one of the songs.

*** U n M is another label favorite, supposedly it’s something very new for Madonna.
^that's from Perez Hilton!
I hope this is true!! <3

Vinylfantasy 1st August 2007 04:21 AM

I love this time before an album, all the rumors and speculation. All these are probably fake but I'm sure there is still truth to some of them. Bring them on!!!

marty518 1st August 2007 04:23 AM

Sigh....
I don't know how much longer I can wait! Surely the album will be #1, but I'm curious to see if it will truly spawn any big hits in the U.S.!

bondingo 1st August 2007 04:53 AM

Did anyone see THIS on Perez a few days ago?

I just lose so much respect for the woman when I hear things like this. And it isn't as if I doubt it either, considering that there are a multitude of videos as proof of her being a (insert deragatory swear word here) many times and for no apparant reason other than the fact that she's a self-righteous...

Anyways, I do like her music even if I absolutely loathe her as a person, so I'm somewhat excited for the new album. Unfortunately, I think I'm only excited to hear how different it will be. The clip for Candy Shop (way to rip off Fiddy) is no longer working, but the titles just sound like she's trying to be all ghetto fab and gang some street cred. I really don't know what to expect anymore. Confessions was great, but this is beginning to sound like a trainwreck to me.

Vinylfantasy 1st August 2007 06:14 AM

It doesn't surprise me how she treated Perez because she does that to everyone who catches her off-guard or on her personal time. Just put yourself in Madonna's position, everyone thinks they have a right to bug her 24/7. I think someone who's been dealing with crazy fans for this long has the right to be short tempered with them.

Cyria 1st August 2007 08:42 AM

From reports, I know that Madonna probably isn't the nicest person. However, she's not breaking the law and risking lives the way celebs who drive drunk do or setting a bad example by doing drugs in an extremely public manner. She's been an entertainer for over two decades now and some of the charm of fame has to have worn off. If I ever saw her, I'd probably be content with getting her picture from afar and not even try to be chatty. She's not the approachable type, but that's alright. Her image has never been the girl next door.

marty518 1st August 2007 02:20 PM

If I saw her, I don't think I would even try to approach her.
There's no excuse for her to be SO rude, though. She could easily say "Hey guys, sorry but I gotta go" instead of "HELLO AND GOODBYE."

Madge would still be eating out of dumpsters in NYC if it weren't for her fans. It's a shame that she's become so self righteous and jaded.

That said, I still have to buy the new album :P

Weslicious 1st August 2007 03:51 PM

That Re-Invention documentary, how she was with the dancers, all scarily mother-like. At least on Truth Or Dare she sounded insane as F when she spoke about mothering the dancers.

I definitely wouldn't approach her either, as I know she would be rude and it would ruin my already somewhat jaded image of her. I feel the same way about what you said though. Her fans keep her sales going and her famous, so she should be grateful to every single one of them. Even if she didn't want to chat it up with those fans, she could have at least used common decency.

i don't think she has that right.. singers and actors know the price of fame since day 1.
and just look at kylie minogue, she's still really really kind to all her fans. one of these days a man waited for 6 hours in front of her house. she kindly went out to give him a hug...

Partino 5th August 2007 08:30 AM

^some are biyotches and some are not ... madonna has so many things coming up ... she's really under a lot of pressure ... if I were here I wouldn't react any different ...

bout the MTV special ... how many years is it since the last, steven? 5?? I think so...

Vinylfantasy 5th August 2007 05:23 PM

The last thing I can think of is when they broadcasted IGTTYAS.

We already knew this, but it's nice to have official confirmation. Click on news and then august. :)

^I didn't know that there are going to be that much artists involved ... great to hear that ... I'm so looking forward to that song

Weslicious 5th August 2007 07:46 PM

So they all sing on one track? That will either sound amazing or be really bad :shakehead

Madonna, Anastacia, Beth Orton, Pink and the Sugababes on the same song though ... Mega Cool :thud

Partino 6th August 2007 07:52 AM

28 artists alltogether ... that's going to be a big and long song ... I hope

XDXDXD!

Wow ~ ! That is a lot of artists on one song! I wonder if they'll be any backstage *****ery...

Vinylfantasy 6th August 2007 04:15 PM

With that many artists involved I'm sure it'll have to be a choir of some sort.

I don't know how much longer I can wait! Surely the album will be #1, but I'm curious to see if it will truly spawn any big hits in the U.S.!

As rumor says, it will release on October 30 in this year.

Vinylfantasy 7th August 2007 05:07 AM

Her publicist said this week that it probably won't make an October release. A late November or January release is in the works because the album is still "a work in progress."

The rumors popping up about her appearing on the Pet Shop Boys' new album "Disco 4" are true as well. The PSB remix of Sorry will be on it. This mix is so awesome! :DDDDD

From PSB official site:

Quote:

Disco 4 Tracklisting

1. The Killers: Read My Mind (PSB Stars Are Blazing mix)
2. David Bowie with Pet Shop Boys: Hallo Spaceboy (PSB Extended mix)
3. Pet Shop Boys: Integral (PSB Perfect Immaculate mix)
4. Yoko Ono: Walking On Thin Ice (PSB Electro mix)
5. Madonna: Sorry (PSB Maxi-mix)
6. Atomizer: Hooked On Radiation (PSB Orange Alert mix)
7. Rammstein: Mein Teil (PSB There Are No Guitars On This mix)
8. Pet Shop Boys: I'm with Stupid (PSB Maxi-mix)

Pet Shop Boys are preparing the Parlophone release of the latest in their series of "Disco" remix albums. Chris and Neil were keen to collect on one album some of their remixes of other artists and their own recent remixes of PSB tracks. Accordingly, Disco 4 will include Pet Shop Boys' extended dance mixes of The Killers, Madonna, Yoko Ono, Rammstein, Atomizer and David Bowie, as well as a new extended mix of "Integral" and their maxi-mix of "I'm with Stupid". The album will be released on CD but not on digital download sites as digital release rights were not available from the artists concerned. Provisional release date is September 24th but this may change. Disco 4 follows on from Disco (1986), Disco 2 (1994) and Disco 3 (2003).

Pet Shop Boys would like to thank The Killers, Madonna, David Bowie, Yoko Ono, Rammstein and Atomizer for allowing their songs to appear on this album.
I love The Pet Shop Boys so much, I can hardly wait!

There are a lot of big names slated for the end of this year -- Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, etc. I think if Madonna wants her album to be number 1, then it's obvious why she's pushing it back. Granted, Celine & Whitney may end up flopping really badly, but Madonna probably can't beat MC's sales if they are anything like TEOM/COADF. Though MC's albums always come out later than planned, so maybe the two will be in competition at some point.

Mariah Carey - 2 new albums -
Kyile - 1 new album
Celine Dion - 1 new album
Madonna - 1 new album

Oh ****.. what a year.

Partino 7th August 2007 03:34 PM

mc (love that) is doin 2 albums??? eww blehh

kotora 8th August 2007 04:55 AM

Yes, Mimi is doing 2 albums in this year, according to the interview of Entertainment Tonight in mid-2006.

Vinylfantasy 8th August 2007 07:39 AM

Madonna's hanging out with Fiddy.

His music may be catchy and all but I really dislike that she is giving that homophobic dipshit the time of day. Personally I think he's a closet queen because nobody else would geek out over Madonna being next door like that.

Partino 8th August 2007 01:34 PM

Some bad news...

Quote:

Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, says that her new album should not be expected in October like internet rumours have been saying.

Rosenberg states that the album is coming along well, they are working hard but they say we should expect it late November or even January 2008. Good things come to those who wait!!

Rosenberg also won't confirm that a song snippet called "Candy Shop," which recently leaked online, is a track from Madonna's new CD. Rosenberg said, "The songs are not mixed, and until that time, we can't finalize the track list."
(c) madonna tribe

well ... that was not unexpected but still sad.

Cyria 8th August 2007 07:05 PM

I'm hoping there won't be a Madonna/50 Cent duet.

Nov/Jan isn't bad. At least it's going to be a winter album, not spring '08.

Timbaland Talks About His And Justin Timberlake's 'Hot' Collabo With Madonna

Quote:

"Ah, man," Tim gushed. "There's this one song, we taking it back to 'You must be my luck-eee starrrr!' ... Remember 'Ugly' by Bubba Sparxxx? I got a beat similar to that. The hook is no words. It's saying stuff named after coffee — all these different names for coffee — is the hook. ... The name of the song is 'La, La.' Pharrell did a hot one for her too called 'Candy Shop.' She's off the chain."
Whoa. I can't remember a song called Ugly, but that sounds pretty crazy. Hopefully the good kind of crazy.

Vinylfantasy 8th August 2007 09:56 PM

The instrumental hook in Ugly is pretty memorable and it sticks in your head. I'm thinking it's gonna be pretty hot! :D

I just can't wait to hear all this, it's driving me nuts!

Vinylfantasy 10th August 2007 05:04 AM

I don't usually go crazy over megamixes, but this Britney vs. Madonna one is pretty well done. They could have gone a bit easier on the pitch control in a few places though. Just thought I'd share.

evolutionricky 10th August 2007 07:29 AM

Those track names...hmmm

Vinylfantasy 10th August 2007 07:39 AM

Love the new Dita set Rik! :heart

TeamAyu 10th August 2007 11:33 AM

Thanks for sharing that video Vinylfantasy, it reminded me of how awesome Britney Spears use to be and how much more Madonna still kicks ass haha.

Partino 10th August 2007 12:24 PM

the toxic and hung up remix is great ... who did that remix????

Vinylfantasy 10th August 2007 06:03 PM

The fan said they mixed everything in the description so I'm assuming they did.

MBAL 10th August 2007 11:08 PM

dunno my fav mix up was that spice girls/BS and madonna megamix

tho the one thing that STILL bugs me is that the Orignal version of the American Life PV is banned! its so much better than the "edited" version... the original version is yawnsvile

Vinylfantasy 11th August 2007 09:04 PM

I'd like to wish Rocco a very happy BIRTHDAY! The little guy turns seven today, he's growing up so fast!

I think the lyrics are real, because the same person also posted Candy Shop's lyrics.

The Beat Goes On - Madonna & Pharrell

Quote:

Here comes the sun
(here comes the sun)
I'm tired of coming undone
(oh, coming undone)
There's been so much darkness
Too much of the time
I think its a sign
(must be a sign)

Here comes the rain
(Here comes the rain)
Wash away all the pain
(wash away the pain)
Coming together, going apart
I want you to stay
(Hope you wanna stay)

Always the bride's maid, never the bride
Two steps behind, you've got too much pride
Always supporting, never the star
Get it together, cause the beat goes on

On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes

Here comes my hand...
(here comes your hand)
Take it while you can...
(take it while you can)
Ill throw you some rope
if it will give you hope
want you to understand....
(understand)

Here comes your smile
(here comes your smile)
Hope it stays for awhile
(stays for awhile)
You know its contagious
It might sound outrageous
But I feel so alive...
(feel so alive)

Always the bride's maid, never the bride
Two steps behind, you've got too much pride
Always supporting, never the star
Get it together, cause the beat goes on

On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes

I can’t keep waiting for you
I can’t keep waiting [take it down]
Anticipating with you
You keep me Waiting [take it up]
I can’t keep waiting for you
I can’t keep waiting [take it down]
Anticipating with you
You keep me Waiting
