It's BETTER than No way to say!

People have said, "Oh, it's not as good as HEAVEN or M or NEVER EVER." I think it's ten times better! It's something so new yet, as said before, has a feel that makes me reminisce about the old days.

My only downside is her fake vibrato. She's used it so much that it's put into every recorded song. It sounds bad and too fake.

All in all, I can't stop listening to it! This is going to be one, excuse my language, ****ing awesome album.

music arrangement all to reminescent of her other ballads. i mean, yeah, its just a friggin 40 second preview, but after taking a music course, i could hear such similarities in the tone color, the tempo, the dynamics... sounds like boring so far. so here is my blunt opinion of this short preview. you asked for it. here you go.

now when the full version comes out, that's when comparisons do matter as well as opinions overall =P

hmm the instruments r what give this song power in my opinion...
Just like heaven...the sound..acoustics, etc give this song more meaning than lets say jewel where most of the emotion was comming from ayus voice.

yeah, true, it has a sound from old 2003-2004 and the vocals are good because they are softer than usual, why should she sound like in t2m when the new song is a gentle ballad

it's like some ayu older ballads mixed up together (CAROLS, no way to say, TO BE, fated, Key)

but, it's actually more like Key~eternal tie ver~ to me, they both really bond to each other, check this out: 00:26 on Together When...(preview) is very similar to 01:50 on Key~eternal tie ver~, although it's only for a few seconds, but it does sounds alike. Just check it out, you'll know what i mean, i hope.

It could be just my feeling, LOL.

Anyway, i love Key so much and i can feel Together When... in my heart already.

I kinda like it...it will all depend on the verses...but I really think the melody is too random...it changes quite dramatically...

Actually I was expecting a quiet ballad like JEWEL...well TW is okay I suppose. Need to listen to the full song.

The first few times I listened to it I was thinking "This will probably have to grow on me", but after listening to it again just now I realized that it just did. It sounds beautiful and I absolutely can't wait for the full, HQ version.

I just heard it and I think its pretty cute~
I mean it sounded weird when the chorus was done it went back to acoustic music.
I hope itll be as good as a full song!

Well I can say, the song is beautiful and really makes me remind for pain. It's a great ballad but it's not my favorite gener of music. Probably I'll listen the song to death today and won't listen it in the other days.

But I want more. I think this is not the best song for promoting an album. I hope she release a beat-up song to promote the album too.

just that when the build up of the second verse was very very strong with elec guitars(?) then when the chorus came, the guitar was somewhat missing suddenly...BUT ITS OK

@Cloud - i think there is still a "weird" song coming for the Panasonic CM which Ayu said sshe recorded in a secret place..haha

I like it. The whole emotional atmosphere really does make this song feel adequate for the promotion of this new album. Hopefully the new pv will be up to the level of JEWEL. I love those artistic pvs.

Also not to rain on anyone's parade but I'm betting that "Together When..." will be the only song used to promote this album, similarly to JEWEL last year. avex is not dumb enough to risk with something upbeat which has a chance of being disliked. A ballad is the safest way to get people into an album in Japan, especially in winter.

I pretty much agree with Rody... it's got a very lovely composition, but I don't really find the song that special either :( Well, I really do enjoy the part at 3:23! For me, it's going to be agony listening to "Fated" and "Together When..." back to back on her new album, and I feel like these songs are going to be put together *sigh* (It was hard enough listening to Moments - Walking Proud - Carols on MY STORY).

I really love it. I generally shy away from singles until i hear the album, but i figured i would check this one out. I think this is easily one of her best songs in a long time. I really loved the composition, and the whole feel of the song just seems right to me.

the beginning reminds me abit of JEWEL and the chorus
really reminds me of TO BE. Overall, it's a not-bad ballad from Ayu.
Maybe I need to listen more to allow it grow on me.
Anyway, Ayu's ballads are always great and touching!

I love this song so much! Its been a while since I wanted to cry when I first listen to a ayu song. This song definitely made my eyes watery...so sad and emotional. This is what I've been waiting for from ayu. Thank you ayu!

The cello in the beginning is just chilling. I think the mix of piano and Ayu's voice is utter sophistication...I liked it in JEWEL and CAROLS and all, but this is just another level of class, IMO. Ayu's voice has come a long way and the orchestration/composition for this song is just breathtaking! The drums join at just the right moment, too.

I love it. I think it's a great re-definition of the winter ballad.

I like it and I don't, it's beautiful up to the main chorus, and then it gets too scrambled, I think if they got rid of one layer of music in the main chorus it would have sounded better. But I'm still satisfied with this song, it'll be nice to sing in karaoke.

The melody is beautiful and all, but I'm not really into the lyrics.
It's repetitive, and it sounds like your typical tragic Ayu song.
"I wanted to say/do_____but I couldn't because_________".
I sort of expected her lyrics to be more "fresh" and slightly different.

I like it a lot. It's not as good as HEAVEN but thousend times better than JEWEL although I think the vibrato @ 3:22 is irratating.

It's the best song so far in 2007. If the direction of the album is similar to TW, I'll be so happy :D

It's like a mix of all her ballads to me, but it's much more emotional IMO. I can't wait for a translation because the lyrics sound so sad to me...It's a great ballad, (BETTER than JEWEL) but it's not anything revolutionary like [Pride] [forgiveness] & [SEASONS] were when they first came out. This song would've been better off as an album track instead of as her first digital single.

I've never found that I've 100% loved an Ayu ballad, but that's just me with any ballad song really. XD

Otherwise, it's a lovely song, and has a very classic Ayu feel. :3

I think it's really good/nice. It reminds me of 'Who...' in the beginning but I have to say it's MUCH MUCH better than 'Who...', which I never really cared for. Her voice still sounds like it's going down the drain but she makes up for it by supporting her vocals with a lot of emotion. The song is very sorrowful but that's why I like it. The more I listen to it the more it grows on me which is a good thing. It's an Ayu classic :D

this is just.... wow. totally emotional and heartwrenching. but it's not something i'd listen to too often. it sounds very sad. the music in the chorus sounds a lot like part of ME... other than that, the song is great... can't stop listening to it. truly pulls at the heart.

Well, absolutely nothing beats t2m for me. I thought that single was just totally AMAZING and I'm one of the very few people that thought the video for that song kicked some serious @$$. I'm not a ballads person. I only like really DEPRESSING ballads in both lyrics AND sound. I think HEAVEN was the first ballad that didn't really SOUND sad that I freakin LOVED. Together When.... does not do a lot for me. I love the beginning and I love the verses, and then the chorus is so...happy sounding. ...wut? Ayu. The chorus ruined this entire song for me. And her voice is so scratchy. I don't listen to anything Pre-RAINBOW because I hated her voice like that. Ewwww.

But the change in "Together When..." was more different.

OMG, this is the best Ayu track this year!!! An amazing ballad :love the beginning sounds like Forgiveness and the song has "part of me" feel to it... I absolutely love it, just wish they had cut one or more music layer of the chorus so the chorus could've been a little better but anyway, this song the the best Ayu song this year, beat a lot of her previous ballad but not the level of Carols & Jewel, Jewel's a masterpiece!!
