Man, Hikki fans really are the most rabid on the Internet...

Why can't people accept the fact that she isn't as popular now as she was a few years back? That doesn't mean her music is necessarily worse.

The new Evangelion movie and Hana Yori Dango 2 were both huge hits in Japan. It's silly to pretend that they didn't influence the sales of her singles and album. What do you think happened to her Heart Station single, which didn't even sell more than 100 K? No tie in, no money, honey.

Sales... does...not...equal... good music... Wash, rinse, repeat.

Of course, I think HS is not a very good album. At least no one will say it's her worst. That honor belongs to Exodus, which is now enjoying its life as a coaster on my table.

Yay for 60s70s80s (Can we find a shorter way to abreviate this! :dead2)! I happy that it's still in the top ten after all this time. Hmmm...charting life seems to be all the rave for singles this year...or something of that sort.

Err.....we, or at least I, never said that it didn't. With or without the tie-in, it still sold. :P And c'mon! Are that blind with the Hikki hatin' to see that the reason that it didn't sell because there was no incentive to buy the single. I'll buy MW before I buy HS/SG. At least I'll get my money's worth. Besides, u should know that most of Hikki's sales are driven towards dls. True doesn't sell like she use to physically (we all can't deny that) but digitally, she dominates the charts. Note: This was way before the FoL tie-in, so u can't use that as an excuse as to why her digital sales are high.

Low numbers for B'z, great job for Morning Musume, I'm shocked at how low Ayu's second week was, and nice job for Hikki! She managed to sell much more than ULTRA BLUE did in it's 5th week. HEART STATION only dropped by 1k!

Mirrorcle World outsold glitter/fated :yes glitter/fated's 2nd week sales were higher just in 3000 than MW's 2nd week's sales.

I know she always has large drops, but this one is a bigger drop than talkin' 2 myself, glitter/fated, BLUE BIRD or Startin'/Born to Be. That's as far back as I went. Something like an 86% drop.

Awww.....poor YUI! :cry I guess her record company didn't expect her second week competition to sell that strongly. I'm just glad she beat Exile. :dead2 I hope she comeback strong by next.

I see that Thelma's single and album is finally losing steam. It's time for her to come out with another single. Soba ni Iru is overplayed and if TA wants to keep her popularity, I think she needs to release another single.

Hmmm......Ayu dropped hard this week. *I told u guys it was the AVEX magic (j/k :laugh)* She only beat Namie by 6k and this is Namie's 5th week on the charts. Congrats to them both though.

to think that this is just one of three BEST's EXILE is going to release within few months and it's already passed one million in sales? that's crazy :o

I read somewhere tho that EXILE has a wider fanbase than the typical boyband because they're not considered as the typical boyband in japan. so their fanbase has both genders and people older than the usual boyband fans.

too bad for YUI, but I think her music is just soo boring and really sameish.

that's Mariah Carey @ number 7 with 37k. western albums chart differently, since there is just the lead single out. but the album will chart longer as more singles are released. I think that Mariah is the all time best selling western artist in Japan.

lol, no, Avril has only recently become popular in Japan. Mariah's #1 CD is the best-selling foreign album of all-time in Japan with 3.6 million copies sold.

I've only watched a few, but Last Friends is excellent. It's not like typical doramas, which can be very corny and formulaic. It's only on the second episode but I think it's the highest quality dorama I've ever seen.

only their core fanbase gets their albums. JE singles sell much more because they're cheaper (which is convenient for their target group: teenage girls), they usually have a big tie-in (i.e. "Love so sweet" for HYD2), & of course, multiple versions.

i think the reason why "Dream'A'live" is not selling as much as "Step & Go" is because "S&G" was their first CD+DVD single release ever. "D'A'L" does not have a DVD, just a bonus 2nd disc of solos.

a DVD is a much better deal than a 2nd disc, IMO. KAT-TUN's upcoming album should sell better than their last album b/c of the DVD that has the PV+making-of for their May 14th single, "DON'T U EVER STOP."

It's good that HEART STATION is selling so well. I used to think Tohoshinki was guaranteed the #1 spot for weekly singles, but now I'm not as sure.

only their core fanbase gets their albums. JE singles sell much more because they're cheaper (which is convenient for their target group: teenage girls), they usually have a big tie-in (i.e. "Love so sweet" for HYD2), & of course, multiple versions.

i think the reason why "Dream'A'live" is not selling as much as "Step & Go" is because "S&G" was their first CD+DVD single release ever. "D'A'L" does not have a DVD, just a bonus 2nd disc of solos.

like the upcoming KAT TUN's single DON'T U EVER STOP , they have 4 editions of the single O_O

I don't think you can put out 4 editions for an album can you ?

then again that's not stopping JE from sucking the life ($ I mean) from the fangirls in Japan
