I think Ayu is probably one of few artists who can release more than one DVD a year and sell somewhat consistently with both of them. :o~

i love both AT07 and CDL07-08, but i love AT07 appearence more - i mean box and booklets and dvd-disk art. But CDL is also AWESOME!!

I don't think they release sales numbers until later for DVDs..

I think this DVD is doing well cos it's 10th anni CDL and there wasn't an official DVD for last year. So absence makes the heart grow fonder =P

In contrast, last year's AT only had 16 stops so i guess her fans felt less involved.

53,028 is the current number.

The fact that CDL is only on for two days is not the reason why it's selling like this [older ones would've sold..]~ There's probably another reason behind it..

I think it's also the CM. The CM for the DVD plays on repeat for like an hour before the concert starts as the audience sits in the stadium. It is the perfect way to promote and tell everyone that the DVD is out, don't you think? Also, the CM is rather emotional as Ayu mentions problems with the preparations. That draws interest too.

Another big reason is probably timing. It came out right before the last leg of the tour, and because of the tour, I think people are way more interested in Ayu than usual, I guess.

Well, generally the CDL is usually released sometime in March or April. It looks like they put it on hold for the preparation of ASIA TOUR 2007 [which was released in the timeframe that most CDLs are released in]~

It's strange how the later release has peaked the sales of the CDL.. it'll be interesting to see if avex tries this again, waiting until March 2009 for AT08's release and June 2009 for CDL08-09 [if it happens]~

My thoughts exactly! But now we know it's prince of tennis, i never quite understood what the hype for that series is all about. Gosh kinki is selling beyond 100k. First week sales must have been phenomenal. I don't think avex ever intended for ayu to get a no.1 for DVD sales.

Yeah but the thing is if it has high no. on the dailies, it's a higher chance for a high no. on the weeklies which mean high sales =D Anyway, by high sales, i'm thinking 70-80k which is not exactly jaw-droppingly fantastic but at least it means that ayu sales are back on track.
