it's "Perfume" yes.

And Perfume outsold for a lot the maximum hormone in the first day, that's why they were #1 only for that day, then they switch but perfume was behind them for some minimum difference, Perfume had secure the number one weekly spot since the first day.

My iTunes still has them as ぱふゅーむ :laugh That's how you can tell I'm an old school fan.

So you guys how you got into Perfume first encounter and what made you a fan?

for me, my first encounter was with the cm for "vitamin drop" back in 2004, I saw it and thought... "ugh.. what's that? looks like Morning musume on crack" and I didn't like the name, too cliché (and I didn't like till a couple of months ago when I learn the meaning), but some how the chorus got stuck back in my memory.

I became a fan when I heard and saw electro world, and then I heard linear motor girl and I like even more.

And that's my story.

at first, I didin't liked them, but when they get #01 at ORICON, I realized I was perfume's #01 fan. :innocent

I think I'm the longest Perfume fan here :laugh I loved "Sweet Donuts" in 2003 but I wasn't interested in them that much again until "Linear Motor Girl" in 2005. Ever since I've been obsessed, but everything post-BCL hasn't been great to me. GAME was bad, but "Love the World" is okay... sounds like they're copying "love the island"!

Not really... I got into them with their first Nakata single, and at the time a lot of their sites and information was still calling them ぱふゅーむ. The pre-Nakata stuff isn't very good... but I think their best era was "Sweet Donuts" til "Electroworld". :heart

i heard baby cruising love last month, lol. then i downloaded GAME and i've loved them since.

I'm a new fan of Perfume :D My favorite songs are Polyrhythm, Chocolate Disco, Macaroni and Love The World. I'm still listening to their album so I'll probably have more favorite songs haha

then I download Baby cruizing Love single and I take care that they are amaizing singers and their songs rocks!

I first got into perfume when i saw one of their live performances of Polyrythmn and thought the dancing was really cute, the girls where really pretty (especially Kashiyuka :heart) and the song was cool. and now im a fan ^_^

I've been a fan since around the release of "VITAMIN DROP." I lost interest after a while, because their music was so hard to find back then, but I was reacquainted with "COMPUTER CITY" and have been following them again since then.

I like OMAJINAI and Kareshi, they're super cute <3

I first listened to Perfume when I watched the Vitamin Drops PV in Youtube... and...

I started the like them after Baby cruising love :P and now I like almost every song of them.

the first song that i liked from them was PSPS... and yeah, i only heard them when i was picking random BEST OF albums from any artist. :D

I haven't been their fan so long time.. Somebody recommended Electro World long time ago but I didn't like it. Then they became famous and I tried Baby Cruising Love and I still didn't like them. Then I tried GAME album and I somehow liked it. After watching Secret Secret's PV I became their fan :D

Around the release of POLYRHYTHM [~September 07] they were mentioned a lot on the sites I visited. The title of the song was very interesting and so I YouTube'd them and it was an amazing song. I started following them ever since.

But guys, can you imagine if they don't add "edge" to their next album? it has happen before, for instance "SEVENTH HEAVEN" which btw is my favorite song ever (specially the instrumental version).

Perfume's great, Ami Suzuki is nice once in a while, but MEG and capsule are kinda annoying.

I don't think edge is good enough to be on the album. But "SEVENTH HEAVEN" being bumped from GAME while "Macaroni" still got on was a TRAVESTY. I think "SEVENTH HEAVEN" is at least as good as BCL and "Polyrhythm".

^I doubt it. They have to work around Yasutaka Nakata's schedule, and he's really busy with Ami.

if he's producing different artists at the same time it's because he can, PLUS they all are from different labels, they don't talk to each other for timing their releases AND, don't forget ami's ONE and Perfume's love the world were release with just 4 days of difference so he worked with both artist at the same time at some point or another.

Umm, he's going to be busy. He's working on new stuff for Ami (a new single AND a whole new album) and new stuff for MEG too. Perfume is probably going to do at least another single and then a new album at the beginning of next year. I've been a fan for about 5 years, I know how their release pattern goes. :irked

They're definitely not techno in my opinion... wasn't it said that "Love the World" was the first techno single to hit #1 in quite a few years? I was so confused when that came out because they really do not sound ANYTHING like actual techno acts. They're electropop to me.

I first experienced Perfume via "Polyrhythm" and it's been uphill from there......except for this latest Single. Not a big fan of "Love The World". It'll have to grow on me. "Edge" is a little better but light on substance.

They always sing live the verses and the chorus is playback, they sing less than half of the song live :P.

No, I've seen them do performances where they don't lip-sync at all, just sing over a backing track. I guess this one is too hard to sing while dancing :shrug

^oh, I read what I wrote maybe I didn't make myself clear xD, what I meant to say is that they've been adding some parts of the song "live" from some time now in this particular performance they are singing live just the first part of the song, and yes they've sang full songs live just like BCL and many others.

And in this latest MS performance they are mixing it again, if you notice for the first part of the song they are not in perfect sync with each other and when they hold the notes they go a bit off key. Towards the chorus we hear more of the synth voices 'till it shadows the girl's voices and that's when the chorus kicks in their voices sound heavily synth.

Another example of this is on Music Japan's live where they sang polyrhythm, just after the cool dance break they sing live and the sythn voice starts again when they say the first "meguri" (after kashiyuka) link: http://mx.youtube.com/watch?v=RwQsuiWZXXg (when a-chan sings you hear clearly she's singing live).

so, I think is cool they mixing it up, tho they should do more lives like the first BcL. =D.

^They're lip syncing most of it, and then singing over a back track for the rest. It's too bad they can't sing sing live. But I think LTW must be hard to sing live with all those crazy moves.

I don't mind them lipsyncing since live vocoder sounds atrocious most of the time. the songs of their's which aren't vocoded to death, though, they usually sing 100% live, like "JENNY wa gokigen naname" and the pre-Nakata stuff.
