taskinillusion 21st March 2009 06:56 AM

Oh jeez... no no no... Just make-up, lighting, and Photoshop, guys.

Deibel 22nd March 2009 12:24 AM

Isn't her noise; is her eyes and hair.

Her noise is the same =)

She could've gotten sugery done and then signed up for the swim suit model. That is also a possibility.

She did leave home and went to tokyo at an early age so her mom can't control her if she lived on her own and who knows, maybe her mom did let her at an early age :S

I personally don't know for sure if she did plastic surgery, but i think she did. I'm not saying its because she's ugly, but maybe she wanted bigger eyes, or a nicer nose. Just to finish little touches to look perfect.

Rhinoplasty is typically $3000-$6000, I think that is WAY too much for a little 14-17 year old girl to be able to afford, even just with a job. Due to child labor laws teens in high school are only allowed to work part time which is typically 5 hours. I'm sure our child labor laws do not differ THAT greatly from Japan's, so I still think it's too much for her pre-debut self to be able to afford.

As for blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), it typically runs about $2,500 which I think is still too much for pre-debut Ayu to have afforded. :shrug

I'm not saying you have to be rich to get plastic surgery, but I'm pretty sure it was too much for Ayu to afford before her debut.

I may be wrong, but minimum wage in Japan is about ~$6.40 now. Meaning if she was working part time she would be making about $32 a day. Five days a week = $160. Keep in mind she still had to afford food and transportation as well.

I'm sorry but I just don't see her being able to afford it back then... :shrug

SunshineSlayer 22nd March 2009 08:49 PM

^^ If she did have plastic surgery then, the bill surely would have been picked up by AVEX. She was basically gonethe entire year of 1997 before her official debut. Judging by her Poker Face performances though, I don't really think she had anything done at that time.

I'm talking before she even met Max. Not to mention the expenses of staying at the hospital and pain medication. I really doubt she's had anything done... :shrug It's just my opinion though, it gets a bit bothersome to me when people falsely accuse her of going under the knife when they have no proof. (not talking about a specific person, just in general.)

kirei_ayumi 22nd March 2009 09:45 PM

although her nose looks a little smaller to me, I don't think she had any surgery on it...
it could be the different foundations she's using on her skin that could change the appearance of her nose

FuNsTyLe 22nd March 2009 09:58 PM

I think it's pretty silly of you guys to defend her and right away deny that she has ever had any... Some of you almost get upset and angry when the topic come up, yet you cannot be 100% sure she has never had it. It should be possible to discuss the issue right? Especially when there are actually some recent photos where it might look like she has had something done. I don't care if she has or hasn't, and besides, AFAIK there is no offical statement coming from Ayu herself, saying she has never done anything.

I'm just sick of those"OMG! Are you guys stupid? Off course she has never done anything! Her eyes were always big, and her boobs are big now because of a bra, and her nose is more refined because of her new make-up!" -type of comments...

How can you be so sure she is 100% natural??
Well you can't be, so shut it, and be open to the idea that she might have had something done at some point.

jbrat2219 22nd March 2009 09:59 PM

Let's not forget how EXTREMELY photoshopped Ayu's photos (videos?) can be! But when you see her with no make up or in candid shots like at the airport or something, she looks very very normal. As far as eyelids are concerned, I'm rather unsure, she appear to have natural double eyelids from what I can tell from some previous photos and live performances. And without make up her eyes are pretty much what they were back in the day so...

Kazeyomi 22nd March 2009 10:48 PM

I don't care if she has done plastic surgery or not ^^'
may she was unconfortable with her body, who knows.

PoetGirl 22nd March 2009 11:00 PM

i dont care really. its true i cant stand some of her photos because she looks like.. fake is not even a right word, she looks like she doesnt exist, but its not her fault. its damn photoshop.
on candids she looks very pretty, real and cute

MissElin_ 22nd March 2009 11:18 PM

I would care much but.... No.
Bandage on her nose wouldnt have got away from bandage so quickly thinking that she tooks pics of herself like every day or something... You know, nothing changes things better then makeup and some photoshop.

The topic gets brought up every 5-6 months or so it seems like. It's just gotten really old and we always rehash the same things. :rolleyes

its make up. i have days my nose is big u kno wat i mean? it's easy to change the narrowness of your nose with shading with foundation.

but what i think is different about her now is:

SHE SEEMS TO LOOK CROSS-EYED LATELY. if i had screencaps to show you from her latest three PVs, you'll get wat i mean. plus, it's relevant in her recent magazine photoshoots O_o

kendelle 23rd March 2009 06:28 AM

@SunshineSlayer: Could Ayu be contracted by Wacol underwear to wear push-up bras in public? I don't remember any announcements on what her contract could include after the photoshoots she did. It could be possible she's contracted to wear pushup bras in public so people start talking about her boobs and go "Oh, she did that Wacol ad - they must work!!".

TA messages would probably count as "public images" and I doubt that Avex would want her to admit to surgery even if she had it!

Then again, she may have worn them in the Wacol ads and gone "Woah!!!! :yes" and bought heaps of them :lech Ayu seems the type to find something she likes and go into it full-force. I wouldn't be surprised if she had almost filled her recent wardrobe extension in Nagase's part of the house xD

And @Jeremy's statements: I agree that she probably hasn't had the time. The surgeon's quoted times would only be applicable for when the patient is resting afterwards, right? Ayu's been working til 3 and 4ams, filming PVs and doing photoshoots. We had pics of her on Today's Photos while she was away too.

Even if Ayu had the timeframe to have surgery overseas it's likely, given all the work she's done both there and now back, it would probably be noticable in her TA photos or in the radio broadcast she did the other day.

Her wrist still isn't 100% and that happened before New Years...facial Plastic Surgery can involve breaking the actual nose and injections can scrape the bone and leave deep bruising. If she can't use her wrist with a 70+ day injury, how can she sing and train with ~30 day old face and chest bruising?

That's a possibility, but what really got me thinking is her recent TA photos of dance rehearsals in the black tank top. I've done a lot of jazz and ballet dancing in the past, so I was always wearing those and all they have in them is a built in bra, but definitely not the kind that is going to push your breasts up and out and give you cleavage unless your breasts are already big to begin with. Prior to seeing those pictures, I too thought it was just a really really padded and squeezed together wacoal push up bra she was wearing. But those TA photos have me questioning now.

As for her face, I really have no idea.

extepan 23rd March 2009 01:06 PM

her nose ridge looks too prominent compared to before, so she could have had surgery.

Oh, cool ^_^ I used to do jazz and tap dancing until I was about 14! It was loads of fun :D

I don't remember the older girls wearing tank tops with built in sports bras, I think they just wore their normal bras with tanks over the top (but this was almost 10 years ago - probably before the built-ins became popular), but that's a good point.

Having squeezed boobs while doing exercise would be pretty uncomfortable :dead2. I hope more pics come through TA soon, or we can see the PV making clips and compare there. It would probably do more justice than still images.

Blasterion 24th March 2009 04:26 AM

she has been looking.. big for a while now.. yeah I'm wondering.

well as long it's not looking too obvious, it's ok I guess ;)

and her having surgery while in Hawaii...I wouldn't think she'd do stuff like that with her studio recording so soon after
and yeah with her busy schedule and stuff too ..

^ she worked as a model as a child too didn't she? I'm sure the pay is different. You can get like hundreds for shots sometimes, just save up and you can probably get that kind of money. any who I guess we'll just have to believe our seperate ways lol there's jsut too many blanks in this to prove anything :S

I'm not trying to push my opinions on anyone lol. I'm just saying that its too fuzzy to say if she has or has not done it lol. We should just believe what we believe until she declares something XD

I agree.

But look at japanese fashion magazines. There are a lot of advertisements for all kind of plastic surgery and it's not too expensive, so even younger girls can have it.
I don't know the prices exactly, I have to look them up and I also don't know about prices 10 years ago, but I do think Ayu could have paid it.

I don't know what's right, but both (done or not done) is possible.

v3lun420 25th March 2009 06:57 AM

I prefer to drop this topic. It is so usual for artists to have plastic surgery, it will never get enough, and I am so bored reading the usual same-old stuff about her having plastic surgery. I so believe that Ayu did it and will probably still do it as long as it is still needed to to support her career. I don't even bother to read through all these posts. Can we just drop it?

Dustie 25th March 2009 10:07 PM

This has been rehashed so many times (I mean the general topic) - no proof, no evidence, only photos and video snaps, which are the last thing you can ever judge someone's face characteristics by (even though tabloids live on it).

I don't see how her nose is different now, I agree it's makeup and lighting.

rakeru 26th March 2009 02:07 AM

i honestly see no difference. there are perfectly logical explanations for her face looking different, and i think that more than anything, it's just lighting.

panda87 26th March 2009 03:34 AM

again, make-up does wonders. i grew with no double eyelids until my late teens. plus, my nose was plump but turned out more defined in my late teens to twenties. PLUS, i can change the dramatic definition of my nose and eyes with two shades of foundation.

so kiss my bottom b/c i don't think Ayu has done any surgery (besides lifting her eyelids a bit)

now, like i say in irritating moments--let's go for some ice cream shall we???

emi♡ 26th March 2009 04:10 AM

this thread is at 7 pages?! @_@

waterballoon 30th March 2009 04:11 AM

Sorry for bumping or whatever, but if she really needs plastic surgery maybe she should fix her eyes so that they are both at the same size. But she didn't do that, so... oh well. I still love Ayu, whatever that happens.

pommy48 30th March 2009 04:14 AM

^ well most people have one eye that's bigger than the other...

waterballoon 30th March 2009 04:20 AM

^ Yeah, what I'm saying is that if she really had plastic surgery... then she would at least fix her eyes first so that they are always oh-so-big and perfect... I mean why bother about the nose when the most obvious "flaw" (note sarcasm) is not fixed?
