Tsuyoshi's stuff is either hit or miss. Sometimes I cannot even listen to it. But I think he is one of the few people with real individuality in JE and he is super creative and intelligent. One of my favourite Johnnys for sure.

I don't know if avex is at fault or JE. I mean in the end V6 and T&T are more Johnnys artists than avex artists, right?

I prefer Koichi's solo material a lot more than Tsuyoshi . Tsuyoshi's case , I feel it's not as radio friendly as I hoped for & sometimes man the stuff that Tsuyoshi writes/composes is just X______X for me to handle

but like what you said , there's no doubt Tsuyoshi's a real talented person , be it when comes to his fashion dress sense , the way he designs things & etc

well at the end of the day , V6 and T&T are overall tied in with Johnny's & Associates

it's funny that both bands's sales are not hot to begin with , I don't know why o.o

maybe things will be different if they're under a different record label ?

then again when TOKIO moved to JStorm from Universal 2 years back , it didn't really helped their sales that much either D:

everything boils down to the talent agency in terms of marketing, not the record labels. avex trax only distributes the CDs. for example, ayumi hamasaki & Otsuka Ai are under avex entertainment, while Amuro Namie is under VISION FACTORY. but all the artists release their albums under avex trax.

i think T&T, V6, SMAP, & KANJANI8 are the only JE acts that aren't under a JE record label. J-ONE, J-Storm, & Johnny's Entertainment (the record label) are owned by Johnny's & Associates (JE groups talent agency). but record label doesn't matter though, J&A controls everything else.

but anyway, BACKBORN is pretty good, imho. and Tsubasa's looking hot again. :heart however, i really thought Tackey's last 3 singles were realllly good (his best solo-wise; i never really liked his solos on T&T releases) and i while i like BACKBORN, it's not his best solo song.

"Popular group, TOKIO, was revealed on April 25th as the Main Personality for NTV's 33rd '24 Hour TV - Love Saves the Earth,' August 28-29. They were the main personality in 2003, seven years ago."

Kimura Takuya Suggests Handing Out Condoms to Promote New Drama

The Fuji TV drama Moon Lovers isn't airing till next month, but there has been endless promotions in place already. Last Friday on the radio show What's Up SMAP, Kimura Takuya received countless questions from listeners wanting to know more on the storyline and how things were progressing on set. However, Kimura cleverly answered around the questions without giving anything away.

One listener asked if there will be any promotional items that will be released with the drama? At first Kimura was serious about answering the question, saying he hasn't heard anything regarding this issue. However, later he said that there was a secret plan to hand out condoms during the campaign. He then went on to say how love encompasses intimate moments, so condoms are a necessity for couples. He later stressed that it was his own personal opinion, but he will present his suggestion to Fuji TV and personally look into the details.

Another idea that Kimura had was to organize a beauty contest. As 'Getsu' sounds similar to 'Ketsu' (butt), Kimura wanted to hold a contest through the television station, and went as far as coining the name 'Ketsu no Koi'. Then he laughed and said that he will enter the contest too, since all the contestants' faces will be hidden. Seems like he went all out trying to sell the idea.

During the radio show there were many questions from listeners asking about Lin Chi-Ling. Even Kimura admitted how surprised he was by their interest in his co-star. He was asked how they communicated with each other, and if she introduced him to good food during their filming in Shanghai. Kimura said that Lin Chi-Ling speaks to them in English, especially when she talks to Matsuda Shota, who studied in London. However, her Japanese has improved quite a bit. He expressed that when all the cast members are speaking in English, it gives him a feeling of living overseas.

Huge Japanese pop group SMAP will perform in the Expo Cultural and Performing Arts Center on June 13, the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination said today.

Free tickets can be reserved free at the center, which can hold 18,000 people, on the day for the 1pm concert. The production will include a medley of hit songs and interaction with fans.

This will be the first time the group, which has gained popularity around Asia during the past two decades, performs outside Japan.

SMAP have officially announced their 2010 national tour, which will be commencing 31st July. It has been 2 years since their last concert tour, and they will break the 10 millionth person mark in total number of concert audiences with this tour. This year's concert theme is "We are SMAP! Tour 2010," and they will be releasing an album entitled, "We are SMAP!" in July. SMAP will be performing for an estimated total of 915,000 people in this tour.

Johnny's net has put up a listing for a new single from Tokio. It's a single A-side this time but will have three different versions like their more recent singles.

The two LE's have the title track, Haruka, with it's karaoke version for song tracks and each will come with a DVD with different versions of the PV. The RE will have two B-sides, one composed completely by Nagase Tomoya, as well as the karaoke track for Haruka and the other B-side Everlasting.

This will also be released on June 16th.

only dreaming is currently used in Inohara's TV drama, "Shin Keishicho Sosa Ikka 9 Gakari" in its new season & Miyake played it on his Miyake Ken no Radio show

The previous seasons of the drama also featured their precious songs such as Good day!! (2006), Jasmine (2007), Chou (2008), and GUILTY (2009).

Koichi Domoto's "Endless SHOCK" aims for U.S.

KinKi Kids member Koichi Domoto (31) has been performing his musical "SHOCK" (currently titled "Endless SHOCK") since 2000. On Saturday, after the musical's 751st performance, it was announced by Johnny's Jimusho president Johnny Kitagawa that there are plans to bring the production to the United States by as early as 2012.

Saturday marked the final performance of "Endless SHOCK" for this year. 2010 was a milestone for the musical, as an anniversary year and as the first year that it was performed 100 times.

The central story of "SHOCK" is about a small, unknown group of actors in New York who get a chance to produce a big show for a Broadway theater. Because of its story and its long-running success so far, Kitagawa feels that American audiences can also enjoy the musical. Currently, he is aiming to have it performed in major entertainment cities such as New York and Las Vegas, though more specific planning will be done later this year.

The United States will not be the only new location for the musical. Up until now, all of the performances have been held at the Imperial Garden Theater in Tokyo, but in 2012, Kitagawa plans to do shows in other major cities in Japan, including Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, and Fukuoka. The U.S. performances, if they happen, would be in addition to those new venues.

It was also announced on Saturday that Domoto will release a new solo album titled "BPM" on September 1, his first in four years. Starting on September 11, he will launch a solo tour consisting of 25 concerts at 9 venues.

SMAP to hold live concerts in Shanghai

SMAP announced that they will be holding live concerts in Shanghai on October 9th and 10th at the Shanghai Stadium, which is the 2nd biggest stadium in China. The announcement was made during their nation tour at Sapporo Dome on August 1st.

SMAP was going to hold their first live concert in a foreign country on June 13th at the Shanghai Expo, but it was unfortunately canceled. So, this will be the first time for SMAP to hold a live concert in a foreign country and it is expected to pull in a crowd of 80,000 fans.

SMAP members are all excited about it, especially after they canceled the previous concert in Shanghai.

SMAP to invite 50 fans backstage

On September 15, SMAP will begin a series of concerts at the Tokyo Dome, part of a larger nationwide dome tour. With this tour, their total concert attendance over the years is expected to surpass 10 million, so the group is planning a special bonus for that first Tokyo Dome concert.

Via a lottery system, SMAP will select 50 lucky fans to be backstage at the concert. In addition, they will have the opportunity to meet the members before the show. SMAP's record label, Victor Entertainment, has also agreed to cover transportation, lodging, and the ticket cost for the chosen fans.

The project was revealed on Wednesday, the same day that SMAP's new single "This is love" went on sale. The limited edition of the single comes with a serial number that will be entered into the lottery, and the chosen numbers will be announced on the August 16 broadcast of "SMAP x SMAP." Victor Entertainment has launched a special website for the promotion.
