I think Ayu was inspired to write such heartfelt lyrics because of Mr. Hoshino's composition. A song for xx's lyrics are so real and sensitive, that I think his work brought those feelings all back to her. At least, that's what I'd like to think :P.

瞳 is read both 'hitomi' and 'me' and since I haven't even heard the full song, I just put both for now, though "me" is a lot more likely since you can't "close your pupils".

i dunno.. i played it all by ear, umm... listen to the song, n follow the romanji as she sings...

ren is right. those romaji lyrics are totally messed up. >.< also...sorry to tell you but 瞳 is never pronounced as め(me) in that context. the only kanji for "eye(s)" other than 目 that is pronounced 'me' is 眼. the phrase 「瞳を閉じて」 ((or even 「瞼を閉じて」 - 瞼= eyelids)) is actually used QUITE OFTEN. just because it doesn't make sense in English, doesn't mean it's incorrect in Japanese. technically speaking, you can't "close your eyes" either :P you can cover them...and close your eyelids but not your eyes. xD

as for the part you two can't agree on. i'm pretty sure she says:

もうそれ以上、他にはなにも　なんにもいらない。　(mou sore ijou, hoka ni wa nanimo nan ni mo iranai).

it's like "further more, besides that there is nothing...nothing at all that i need."
