Her article has been a Featured Article since before October 1, but "Featured Article" according to Wiki is one that "[is] considered to be the best articles in Wikipedia, as determined by Wikipedia's editors" (articles are judged on how well they're written, not the noteworthiness of the subject or anything like that), not necessarily one that appears on the front page (those articles that appear on the front page--and only Featured Articles do--are called "Today's Featured Article"s, I think.) In short, Ayu's article is already a Featured Article, but October 1 is its first time on the front page.
