Yeah but we have no clue how long it takes them to put the whole album together and it may take longer since there is a chance of ayu-ro mix 4 and ayu-mi-x 7. If that is the case then it may be almost a year since Max said the were working on it. For example ayu-mi-x 5, ayutrance 3, and ayu-ro mix 3. They came out almost a year after RAINBOW which were the songs mostly featured on them. I could be wrong though.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 10th January 2011 04:15 PM

^^I mean none of us know. I just choose to be hopeful that it will be sooner rather than later. lol

Queen Bee 10th January 2011 04:36 PM

^It doesn't matter to me when it comes out as long as we get it. :)

Suteisi 10th January 2011 04:51 PM

It'd be nice to get a special combo of ayu trance, ayu-ro mix and ayu-mi-x !!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 10th January 2011 05:01 PM

I hope they just push out ayu trance. I think ayu-mi-x is a little less likely, while ayu-ro-mix is extremely less likely to happen.

but if they could do all three in a reasonable amount of time, then that'd be awesome.

a big remix boxset...yummy haha

I'm gonna bring up the discussion from the first thread.

I really don't see the point in compilation albums either unless they have some heavy material going on in there. If I am going to buy a compilation album, it better have new editing and mixing, unreleased songs, the artist's best songs to date, alternate arrangements and compositions, and amazing packaging. Slapping a bunch of songs on an album with 1 new song, standard jewel case packaging, ugly cover art, no new/up to date/alternate remixes/versions, no unreleased demos or songs, no new songs, or any of those bells and whistles is hardly worth buying except for collector's purposes. (talking about a best 2)

I never buy compilation albums, but I did buy utada's single collection vol. 2 cause it had tons of songs I love, a remix that wasn't physically released before, a second cd of brand new songs, a dvd with a music video of one of those songs, really cool digi-pack packaging, super high quality glossy laser jet paper booklet, and a cute paper kuma charm for good luck. That is worth buying. SCV1 though? no...not worth my money. It was just a compilation of already released songs on a standard cd with nothing new.

A BEST 2 was definitely worth the money! It was two albums containing her actual best songs (not just singles) spanning from I am... to (m)u (if I remember correctly), so if you missed one or two albums, you could have a physical copy of the better songs. That's a lot of material, plus all of the songs were remastered, there was new song and PV, and it was packaged with CDL concert and documentary and posters for the first press. Seriously... what are you talking about? xD;

And the only saving grace for Utada's best album was the second disc, which, as someone pointed out, could have easily been a mini-album even with the same amount of new songs. The cover was a disgrace and the charm was a joke. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, I really don't mean to be. But that release just showed how badly she wanted to get it all over with and go on hiatus. At least in my opinion. Thankfully, she had the guts to stand up against an even worse release, the English compilation. I respect her for that. But I can't see either release as worth the money to be honest.

well, its about time... I've been waiting since ayu-mi-x 6 for another remix album... or really any remixes period. Either way, I'm really excited O_o

I'd die and go to heaven if they did an ayu-ro mix 4, though. (And if they included ALL the labels, that'd be icing on the cake. Or at least add in SCP, GoGo's Music, and Hi-NRG Attack...)

I say sometime later this year. I hope they finally collect all the orchestra versions and release it if they are gonna do ayu-mi-x 7.

Yeah, I agree with all of that include the utada stuff. I also wanted to add that her first best wasn't that great either.

But I like compilations, if I only have room on my ipod for 1 album of an artist, chances are I'm gonna go for the best since it has all the hits/singles.

Keiichi_JPU 11th January 2011 03:17 PM

A BEST 2 was, even for people who had been fans for years, a very good compilation album imho, especially the CD + 2DVD versions. Very cohesive, iconic covers, huge promotion.. A solid release if you ask me.

For me it was perfect because I've been a fan since about Secret, so it was the perfect way for me to catch up with her. I have discovered some of her most amazing songs because of A BEST 2. Sure, I would've discovered them later on anyway when I started listening to her older albums, but it was still a great way to get to know her older (amazing) material.

100% off-topic, so let me add that I am still praying for an Ayu-ro-mix release! Or something with dubstep influences would be cool!

I'm thinking sometime later this year as well. I'm personally hoping for an ayu-mi-7 AOV as well as a new ayu-mi-x and a new ayu-ro mix but for some reason I doubt a AOV will happen. Some members have said they would just take all the ones released on the singles since ayu-mi-x IV. But, l personally think some would get left off while new ones were added plus some of them are just orchestra version which is not the same as acoustic orchestra I believe. Not to mention some could change slightly like with SEASONS AOV.

jbrat2219 11th January 2011 06:14 PM

I knew the trance album would take a long time to make... So I'm trying to be very patient! Love songs should keep me distracted for a while lol.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 11th January 2011 06:28 PM

bemanicho1 11th January 2011 06:28 PM

It would be amazing if they released all three of them on the same day! I would buy the Japanese versions of all of them even if my budget wouldn't approve. :P

But I would hope that the new Ayumix would be more in the vein of Ayumix 2, 3, and 4, rather than 5 and 6 which I didn't like that much.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 11th January 2011 06:29 PM

I would like another ayu-mi-x non-stop mega mix. But like ayu-mi-x 3 or 4, NOT 5. haha

jbrat2219 11th January 2011 06:41 PM

I loved ayu-mi-x 6. I really don't understand why it's not that well liked? I know some of the songs were a disaster, but that's a given in ANY ayu-mi-x album, except maybe the first one.

(miss)understood 11th January 2011 06:51 PM

I liked every song on ayu-mi-x 6 except INSPIRE. And I liked every song on ayu-mi-x 5. I hope they continue in this direction for ayu-mi-x 7. And In my opinion, the best trance album was ayu trance 2. and I liked the very first ayu-ro mixes, the third ayu-ro was good too, but I bought the second ayu-ro and I have never even listened to the whole CD all the way through. Kind of disappointing.

I hope they do a fourth, classical remix. I hope its much like ayu-mi-x II. I loved that particular installment in the ayu-mi-x series. The glitter cases and special inserts that formed ayu's picture was very funky and made me very happy.

jbrat2219 11th January 2011 06:56 PM

^ I am always up for classical! But that would mean Ayu would have to stop making orchestra versions on her singles!

hsienko 11th January 2011 07:18 PM

I'm starting to doubt ayu ro mix 5 will be released, I mean is eurobeat even popular anywhere anymore?
