Anyhow, I do see what is special about this song's arrangement though, and I think the bridge is really lovely but I find her voice almost intolerable in this song, especially in the chorus. It maybe cause the song is pretty personal to her, and she got emotional when recording it.

That's what I hear from the people who don't like it. They say they do not like her voice, which I do not understand. I think her vocals are great. MUCH BETTER than in Curtain Call or especially Thank U! But you see the ending climax I truly love her voice there BECAUSE it sounds like she is almost about to cry when she sings sasage tai. I anticipate that part of the song each time I listen to it.

Glad to see so many November lovers here. I didn't think the song got as much love as it deserved. I would absolutely die for an instrumental. It's just such a standout instrumentation.

I love this song :luv2 But only because of the instrumental lol...I always say to others that I would love it more if I didn't hear Ayu xD

Lol, I have to say, seeing the replies to this made me feel I can't post in here :tired

But anyway, I do like the song, except for the cheap sounding keyboard sound through it. I swear it was one of the sounds my old keyboard used to make when I was eight, whenever I listen to it I literally cringe.

Before people start hatin', I do like her vocals, just not that keyboard sound

EDT: ^ I am TOTALLY going to hate on you for this....how dare you!!!!

lol.......just kidding!!!

I loooooooooooooooveeeeeee November, and I too am a huge fan of the final 'belt-out' chorus. I think it would be amazing live.

I love Love Songs in general because some of the songs reminded me of her earlier stuff and made me happy.

Are you talking about the little flute sound or that echoing synthesized noise throughout? Because I LOVE THAT ECHOING SYNTHESIZER!! Lol.

jbrat2219 13th August 2011 04:01 PM

The flute nearly killed me when I first heard it. *former flute player*

I love November. I think it would have to go in my top 10 Ayu songs now. I thought I would grow out of it and that it was 'new album song' love that goes, but it hasn't. It is almost all I listen to when driving (along with Love Songs) I used to be put off by the beginning instrumental but I love all of it now. It all fits together. I love her voice in this. It reminds me of another Ayu favourite of mine, Dearest. Just the emotion in the song. And the heartfelt lyrics :love

I would love to see it performed somewhat like Endless Sorrow DT01. Maybe on a suspended swing or platform with feathers falling around her. Then for the climax, the swing could move out over the audience :D Or something simple but beautiful like Carols AT05..Pretty sparkly white/pale pink dress a must :yes

"November" is one of ayu's most beautiful ballads. i really do love it. :heart it's definately one of my (many :P) favorites from "Love songs". :)

ExodusUK 14th August 2011 08:52 AM

I don't want to hear PECO and Princess to ruin it.

LONJJONG 16th August 2011 01:55 PM

I love this song too. Even though her vocal is like something weird.. but it's emotional!
I would like to see Like a doll's performance too~
Looking forward~

Ach, November, one of the best things ever, I can't understand how someone can say it's boring. I guess only some people can feel this beauty, and it is not them. That's why Ayu gave this to us, the others. :)

She'd butcher this song live imo. She barely pulled off the recording, the final chorus was extremely rough. It's a very difficult song to sing, wouldn't be surprised if she left it out of her tour completely.

have to disagree. she pulled it off just fine in this song, she made her voice like that in purpose. especially the last chorus, its emotional like almost i can feel her sorrow..yup November is my most played track song from Love song.

emi♡ 17th August 2011 11:20 AM

oh, the video game song lol

Honestly, I would LOVE for her to be able to do this song live. This is one of the best songs on the album...but I have to agree with Coelacanth....I don't think she can.

She just doesn't have the control or the power...and for me, I think the vocals in this song are really super important...and yeah, she barely pulled off the recording.

Her voice wasn't soft and calm enough in the beginning and in the verses, and it lacked an oomph in the power needed for the chorus which should be HUGE. It is SUCH a big chorus...which just gets further emphasized because of how much it contrasts with the verses...

idk I still think it'll probably be great to watch...but I want more. The ideas behind this song are epic, and not just the lyrics. Musically....and if her vocals had been there, the song would have been even bigger and more hard hitting.

I do however feel the sincerity in her voice...and I think there's positive things about the way she performed it, and I think that, it's a little more "real" vs something she could have given us that had what I talked about above and was super technical, but, idk...give and take I guess.

I however, don't think it was "on purpose". imo there were very clear expectations of what the vocals in this song were supposed to be like from the composition, and I think she had this recording, and it was the best they had....and somehow, I don't have proof for this, but to me, it kinda sounds like it may have been one of very few recordings...

idk whatever, I'll always dream of the day when Ayu pulls out amazing performances that do justice for songs like these...and all I can do is hope.

sorry.../endlongramblepost

Coelacanth 17th August 2011 04:24 PM

Yeah. The emotion is there, but the technique isn't. She mentioned in a magazine interview that it was the most difficult song to record on Love songs.

Zeke. 17th August 2011 05:29 PM

But I love how the chorus doesn't have that full-on "oomph" until the final chorus of the song, when the most touching lyrics hit. I love how her voice sounds there - so emotional. As far as performing it live, we have heard numerous reactions and comments to her "improved" voice. I wonder how the next tour DVD will sound.

jbrat2219 17th August 2011 06:44 PM

^ OMG YES! That last chorus always gets to me... November is flaw-free!

[edit]

Just listened to it right now and I'm tearing up ;____;.

I'm not exaggerating when I say it's probably the best ballad she has. At least in the top two. It battles Virgin Road for me as my all time favorite Ayu ballad.

aisubeki 17th August 2011 07:49 PM

I cried the first time I heard November, and I still cry every time I play it. I wish she would do it live.

Ironic since I think Virgin Road is among her most boring. Lol.
