This seems like a GUILTY situation again with the early release.

channy 20th March 2012 09:10 PM

This album does not deserve #1 anyways. Even #2 is a big privilege for "Party Queen" so I guess it could of been worse.

Glad I amused you, but as someone's who's been into JPOP for so long I figure you know how things work. It's quite simple really. Songs like glitter, Days, beloved etc. were obviously made to cater the Japanese general public; While yes R'n'B ballads like ANother song are popular in Japan, Ayu's not really famous for doing those. Just look at the Recochoku charts that ayumisreal posted. As I previously stated Why... and ANother song failed to sell well, while beloved charted quite well. I really doubt Ayu has her mind set on what the Japanese general public wants all the time. So you're comment is a bit out of place.

There is no place for a word deserve when it comes to sales.

TeamAyu2004 20th March 2012 09:14 PM

^^ Are you serious... that is pathetic.

no ones work of art should be deemed to fail... no matter how bad you dont like it.

First day sales don't mean it is no longer number one anyways... we have to wait till the end of the week.

isthisLOL? 20th March 2012 09:18 PM

If this doesn't deserve #1 then none of Ayumi's albums do... Only one J-Pop-Bait song on it though(hbya, and even that isn't all that generic) so it's obviously not gonna be huge with the public. I still believe sales will shoot up tomorrow, most people simply didn't know it was in stores today already I think since the official release is tomorrow.

If sales must reflect quality, Party Queen must oversell MY STORY.

Just saying...

Tomorrow's sales should be similar to today's. Or hopefully higher.

I don't give sales much attention anyways. There are only few singers in my giant music collection that reach even the top 200 of Oricon. Actually Ayu is one of the few really big, famous singers, I care for.

Like I said, they can be happy the album reached #2. It's still a very good result for this album.

Oh and...

Agreed. Good sales in general just means that a huge amount of people is willingly following the mainstream.

really??So,we'll know REAL numbers tomorrow for both queens Ayu & Namie

Neil 20th March 2012 10:00 PM

Oh dear. Guess we'll be getting A BEST 3 this year so she gets another #1!

channy 20th March 2012 10:10 PM

^ That would be kind of interesting! I am waiting for another "BEST" or "BALLADS" eagerly :yes

I fail to see the logic behind this.

These are the real numbers for Tuesday. The Oricon week usually starts on Wednesday though.

Given the lack of promotion and singles (excluding the digital single-- that hardly counts), #2 is reasonable. Maybe her personal drama will have (sadly) generated interest and may serve as a form of promotion.

If she cared for the "#1 every year" she would have released a 2011 single.

I agree. :yes

I don't care about her trying to get #1 today, unlike in the past...the fact that she's 33 and the trend of AKB48/Johnny's today she's already dated for competition against these artists...

hope it will rise tmw...
