Oricon Weekly Albums
5 - ● A Girl in the Wonder Land 13,954 13,954 13/6/5 UM
鬆田聖子 5 1

So happy with this position and sales! These are her best first week sales in a long time. :D

Damita 12th June 2013 06:23 AM

Wow, good sales! But I think she managed the same sales about with the past couple albums, hasn't she? My Prelude did 13k too, though this sold a little more than that did so technically you may be right, it may be her best first week sales in a while.

Also, can anyone explain, because I'm not quite sure about this: is she hated in Japan currently? I read reviews for her albums in Japanese and they're always extremely negative, and I can never figure out why. The comments seem more personal than actually they genuinely just aren't feeling the music (or maybe a combination of the two).

I think she is more appreciate since a couple of year compared to 10/15 years ago !

You know she was "has been" because of singers like Namie, Ayu, Utada and a lot of other fresh singers lol but also because she was so scandalous than any other J-pop singer so her popularity suffered of that but it's seems now it's far better ^^

Don't believe these reviews ... They are most of the time written by haters when you don't like something you don't waste your time to write a bad review !

TeamAyu2004 13th June 2013 11:19 AM

congrates. I wonder how long it will take ayumi to get to this level? two, 3 more years... lol

Seiko will host All Night Nippon GOLD again this Friday (6/21).

I always look forward to these radio talk sessions. It's her fifth time hosting ANN GOLD. Last time was one and half years ago.

Surrogate Mother (aka Sweet Evil or Final Vendetta)

2014 started well. I finally got to see this movie from 1996. Starring Seiko Matsuda, Bridgette Wilson, Peter Boyle, Scott Cohen.
Not exactly the best out there, but an OK thriller, and it was really interesting to see her in a starring role for a US production.

tsumekaze_ 5th January 2014 06:17 PM

the woman is 51 and she looks younger and more beautiful than me. I am 20 for god's sake. WHAT'S YOUR SECRET

Ps. She also looks younger and more beautiful than her daughter. Currently imagining the girl's underlying complexes

I have a US Version of this movie but i don't know how to put it on my computer:(:no:vsad

Zemus 8th January 2014 11:48 PM

@tsumekaze_: Haha, I don't think she minds really. They are on pretty good terms with each other from what I can tell.

Is this the version you have? That image link of yours doesn't work so... Why transfer it to the computer when you can watch it from disc as it is?
But if you absolutely must, then HandBrake software can handle ripping of DVDs. Unless you have a VHS copy that is.

Seiko's and Chris Hart's Kouhaku viewership rating: 47.0%. Tied top 7 with Arashi! Not too shabby. Basically half of the population were watching.
In average, Kouhaku Uta Gassen ratings haven't been this high since 2003!

tsumekaze_ 9th January 2014 11:49 AM

lol, you're right, they do look like they are in good terms! is this man her hubby? they look so good together. Like, they look both so sweet when they smile...and I love the third pic, so much love <3

Zemus 9th January 2014 07:57 PM

Ah, no. Her husband is Japanese. Both are around the same age. Her married life is kept completely private, there aren't any photos of the couple.

Chris Hart and Seiko did a duet as part of the Universal Sigma 10th Anniversary project.

Yoake 3rd July 2014 11:18 PM

I listened to Dream & Fantasy. Angel and I reach for you are just wonderful!

brener 3rd July 2014 11:21 PM

Angel is one of her best ballads imo, and we can see how it influenced a lot of ayu ballads

khan5 4th July 2014 12:08 AM

which albums would you guys recommend to listen to

brener 4th July 2014 12:18 AM

Start with a best album ^^

Zemus 28th November 2014 11:58 PM

Watanabe Miyuki's (AKB48/NMB48) solo single cover jacket. Do we spot a similarity? Haha, kind of nice.

"Yasashiku Suru Yori Kiss wo Shite" (2014) vs. "Natsu no Tobira" (1981)

Seiko has stopped doing new years concerts now since 2012. As a result of that, she has now been invited to Kouhaku Uta Gassen two times in a row (something I didn't expect, especially this year). I wonder what she will sing. As surprising as it might seem, but Akai Sweet Pea has never been performed there yet. I wonder if that is a possibility perhaps?
