The way Alvin was flaunting Ayu kind of bothered me although obviously it was Ayu's choice. I wonder if her husband wasn't keen on the way Ayu seemed less Ayu-ish at those events with Alvin. Like she was playing up the diva image and she isn't usually like that.

I think we can agree she was used at some point, going by how she is acting and has done like this in the past. Alvin obviously broke ayus trust. I think that might be all we will learn about it. But go ayus. If she had a falling out before HK, she might just be keeping her appointments and plans before what ever happened, which shows good character on her part :)
Though it might of been a little of a avex crack down too on Alvin. I doubt they would like his posts about ayu, after they are trying to keep her personal stuff off twitter

I don't think Alvin exposing her as his friend (and maybe creation?) was the main cause for this to happen, as some said she could this exposition to overseas for her good. I guess it was something that bothered her husband tho and at those usual conversations before sleeping on their hotel he could have shared these thoughts with her, and then add something here, not meeting Madonna there... And she could see how it was better for her to let him go. I think the MAIN reason of all will be obscure to us all, very likely there was a discussion on private between them, but as long as it all finished professionaly and for good, I am already happy.

It actually seemed to me that Ayu's husband was uncomfortable not because of Alvin, but rather because he doesn't like the spotlight and wasn't happy that Ayu brought attention to him during the interview.

But anyway, all of this is speculation, I don't want to jump to conclusions. By the way, maybe Alvin did have plans to introduce Ayu to Madonna, but Madonna changed her mind.
