I listened to No one else like you yesterday. The song is good until the guy sings. Not that he is bad but I don't feel his voice for this kind of song and BENI's voice is so nice that he breaks the charm.

I think out of all the songs BENI released digitally the last few months , I like No one else like you the most cos it's so simple but yet it works so well for BENI
Also No one else like you is sung entirely in English but with BENI being bilingual , there's no weird Engrish going on And yeah I agree , Michael Kaneko's vocals oddly sound quite mature in the song o_O but at least he did a good job working on No one else like you |
Mienai Start is not included in CINEMATIC for now
I wonder if BENI will include the song in CINEMATIC once the covers get released or will she leave it as a digital song just like Sankyu. ? :confused |

I'm disappointed by the covers. The promo pic is great and really fit the concept of cinematic. The covers are just nice pics who can be magazine photoshoot. And I don't even want to talk about that text :no

CINEMATIC is out! Thoughts?
I think this is one of BENI's better albums. It has an interesting concept and direction and some really good material. On the first listen, I loved the title track, MONEY, Got a Feeling, and PULLBACK, and liked the rest of the songs quite well too. Some miscellaneous (less than positive) thoughts: - I really want to love Chasin', but I can't bring myself to do it... The chorus is so nice, but I can't get over how weird the pre-chorus feels. It's still a nice song, but I wish it was all as good as its best parts. - Arigato is the weakest song on the album. Somehow, BENI sounds... kinda bad on the chorus. - The swearing in No one else like you is SO JARRING. BENI sounds really good with the acoustic guitar accompaniment but the swearing seriously shatters the mood, and I feel like she doesn't have the best chemistry with Michael Kaneko. |
Solid album but I got bored halfway through :laugh I feel like she lacked energy to carry these songs, if that makes sense.
The title track is a bop tho and I really like Chasin'. No one else like you is just odd. |
^ Yeah, her lacking energy makes perfect sense. I didn't mind it but I can definitely feel it.

I received my copy of CINEMATIC & I did the scans of the album + the clearfile bonus giveaway (surprised HMV Japan gave it as their & BENI's websites did not state about it)
Want to say that in a way it's super thoughtful for Universal to include all the photos of BENI in a standalone photobooklet & only 1 shot of her is included in the main album booklet which's this : https://i.postimg.cc/5NCNXvn7/A.jpg I'm not sure if this time round both versions of CINEMATIC have different photos of BENI cos I know for her previous studio albums , that happened . Not sure for Undress too :confused Album credits wise , BENI cowrote all the songs in CINEMATIC . The intro is the only 1 that she wrote the lyrics by herself while she co-composed the entire album too And ironically , the F word in No one else like you is censored in the lyrics sleeve o_O Seeing that the total CINEMATIC DVD footages is only 21 mins , I think what was uploaded on YouTube is the full Chasin' film that's uploaded into 3 parts ?
