how r u supposed to attach it to the CD..O.o?

~K+ 27th June 2004 03:46 AM

With a little bit of double-sided tape will do the work. I keep all mind, it's got the tracklisting.

And the blank spot on the side of singles (due to lack of back cover) just makes the CD look ugly.

OR alternatively...you could snip it down so that you could slip it inbetween the Disc tray and the back of the Jewel Case o_O"

Like I said in my last post, I use the advertisement stickers on the plasting wrapping to attach the obi to my CD case. Whenever I buy a new CD, I carefully peel the translucent advertisement sticker(s) off the plastic wrapping, leave the obi in place, then put the sticker on the end of the obi on the front cover of the CD.

Attached are 2 CDs that I attached the obi to.

The obis (is that the plural form of obi?) are fairly secure, except for the Voyage and Duty ones because the stickers aren't as sticky. :P And the RAINBOW CD opens very easily :yes The ones that I didn't bother to put the obis onto (but have them neatly folded inside the cases) are the ones for LOVEppears, Memorial address (the advertisement sticker didn't stick well), SEASONS, M, and vogue.

Geez, the Japanese really go all out to make the CDs look nice! Obi (reminds me of some rice ball thing for some apparent reason, haha) Well, thanks for all the tips! I used double sided tape on my Rainbow CD but it keeps coming off. Erm ... so I was wondering are there any other tips?

Always keep your advertisement stickers handy. :D

HMV provides plastic slip-bags so I just slide the CD, OBI and all, into the slip bag. Nifty, and an added bonus is that the CD doesn't get scratched that easily. Although sometimes the sticky side of the bag sticks to the jewel case, and then it gets a little annoying. Too bad I can't find those for sale anywhere, so I resort to asking HMV for 1 each time I go there - that way, I can have a small but ready supply in case one tears or something. ^^;;

Or simply open your CD VERY carefully with a blade at the top or the side. So that you could slip everything back in. And the sticker would be in it's original position too.

It's no joke. An obi, apart from being aka the spinecard, is part of the Japanese Kimono.
