isaac hiew 1st July 2004 12:19 PM

m-a-z-e 1st July 2004 12:30 PM

LOL the only ones I don't do are celebrate her birthday with a cake and present to myself, and cosplay as her cos I'm a guy. My nickname is K-ayu. 'cos in Japanese Kyle, would be pronounce Kiru..so Kiru..K-ayu...sort of similar. xD and I'd be more than willing to spend over $1,000 on buying all her CDs. o_o

Being obsessed is nothing to be proud of. It just means that your life isn't interesting enough. If it was, you wouldn't have to be obsessed with things.

m-a-z-e 1st July 2004 01:53 PM

Obsessions are good, fun things to have...unless you become a psycho stalker of whomever you are obsessed with..like myself..um..*Cough* my life is interesting yet I have time for many different obsessions.

sxesven 1st July 2004 02:00 PM

Let's just say, there's being a fan, and there's being obsessed. I'm a fan, definitely. I love Ayu's music, got all her albums, listen to 'em frequently, got a *****load of Ayu pics, my computer frequently has an Ayu wallpaper as its Desktop, etcetera. But I'm not obsessed, hell no.

i agree - obsessions r fun to have. i get obsessed too easily lol but i wouldnt say i have a crap life. um thats a bit harsh! :tired its only when obsessions become dangerous to someone's health (mental or physical) that its a bad thing

No offense, but it wasn't meant nice either. I don't think there's anything funny about obsessions.

ob·ses·sion (b-sshn, b-)
n.

1. Compulsive preoccupation with an idea or an unwanted feeling or emotion, often accompanied by symptoms of anxiety.
2. A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion.

Just to point it out.

natalaxie 1st July 2004 02:42 PM

ok come on none of us r really talking about serious obsessions, its like i said its only bad when its dangerous. we're just joking around. i mean if collecting ayu cds as a hobby (even an expensive one) is making someone happy then there's nothing wrong with being this kind of obsessed i reckon

sxesven 1st July 2004 02:46 PM

*small sigh* Look. I 'collect' her CDs as well. As said, I have a *****load of Ayu items. BUT, that means I'm a fan. Not that I'm obsessed.

And believe me, a number of people in this thread 1/actually believe they really are obsessed, by the definition, and 2/they're proud of it.

appears 1st July 2004 02:46 PM

well, i really did used 2 b obsessed with ayu, i bought 10 copies of }{, and when there was that rumour ayu would release 7versions of [RAINBOW] (1 4each colour) i really wanted 14copies :P

but i can happily say i never pissed my pants over her... personally, i think thats sick :-/

My Japanese teacher and class thinks I'm obsessed. Just because at the time I had 10 cds, a calendar, and referenced things to her on several occasions doesn't mean I'm obsessed.

I'm nothing compared to some people here. O_o

ohsixthirty 3rd July 2004 03:49 AM

Well...when do you cross the line from being a fan to being obsessed is my question?

~K+ 3rd July 2004 04:05 AM

Only
16.You know in order which CDs were release before and after each other.
22.You can tell right of the bat if something is fake, even if it looks real from a far.

But that doesn't mean I'm obsessed, just very well informed. Fanboys are usually obsessed...they scare me o.O" And like sxenven, I think I think of a few obsessed people off the top of my head.

leafyamazaki 3rd July 2004 04:14 AM

I'm only guilty of three: 8, 16, 22.

I'm sorry but that is SO not true, I am obsessed with Japan but it is my life's interest and my passion, passion is obsession. I have many friends and a great active life with obsession, I'm sorry, I do. Ayu doesn't control my life. Sorry, I don't mean to be rude

Dude you take things too seriously and when we say "obsession" we don't mean a serious one, it's more like a silly obsession, it's called being sarcastic. And the fact that you have over 2,000 posts here doesn't mean your obsessed, oh no...

~K+ 3rd July 2004 09:00 AM

Well, I don't really see anything wrong with what sxesven is saying myself, as for post counts, there's plenty of things to talk about here besides Ayu.

While few people may be truely obsessed, but honestly, a real obsession isn't very healthy...someone elsewhere posted that they wanted to get plastic surgery just so they can look more Japanese :rolleyes
