there's number 1 to 20

Wow I think Ayu's done very well with this album, it only came with 3 new songs too. Hmm I though Ai Otsuka's debut had sold more... guess not and Hitomi Shimatani's 'Delicious' I thought reached 600,000. Hmm this is weird cause Mai's 'Wish You The Best' was supposedly the first album of the year to hit a million.

Everyone complaining about Hikki--best albums ALWAYS sell better in Japan than original albums do. So that's why.

First Love: "By now the album has been sold 8.69 million copies to date in Japan, and 990,000 in Asia, making it the best-selling album of all time in Japan."

Distance: "After First Love "Distance" was released on March 28, 2001, it was sold 4.81 million times to date in Japan and 550,000 in Asia."

Deep River: "Her third album, "DEEP RIVER," released on June 19, 2002, has shipped 3.84 million copies to date in Japan and 310,000 in Asia."

Needless to say, they all sold (way) more than the Single Collection.

Those were all a while ago. I'm looking at the music industry in its current condition. That's like saying Ayu is doing horribly just because her singles don't sell over a million copies anymore. But she's still one of the highest sellers out there.

And still, in absolute numbers, Single Collection sold less. A whole lot less. I mean, blah. It just did.

Give it up, child. All 4 albums mentioned sold less than "Deep River", which is by far Hikki's lowest selling original album, at 4.1 million around Asia. In other words, yes, Hikki's albums have always sold more than Ayu. Although "A BEST" did outsell "Deep River", but we're talking only original albums here.

tl1029530921 6th September 2004 04:55 PM

wow..A Ballads sold better than i thought..o.o...except it killed ayu's "album sales over a million" streak...but then we can just count originals only..--"
