That's not the point of the discussion.

My point is, for those of us who are actually audiophiles that know and appreciate uncompressed, raw music, a CD is better than an MP3 anyday. I know the MP3's are layin' around like crazy, I helped to get them out there, recording in an analogue fashion from my own turntables input to my audio card :rolleyes But I would still not mind an actual MASTERED CD to be released in it's uncompressed glory without having to deal with the pops and clicks from the vinyl versions :eviltongu :eviltongu :eviltongu

I am waiting for the DVD-audio to become the new standard.

you are from a release group! oh respect!

i dont get it though...real audiophiles prefer vinyls to cds!! why would you wait for a cd when there is a vinyl? i know you have partially answered the question already but...t is just unusual for an audiophile to wait for a cd

Real audiophiles prefer the best quality possible, whether it be vinyl OR CD, period. There's far to much to get into here about the different formats, but a remastered M E.P. on CD would own. I mentioned in my earlier post that the pops and clips would be eradicated for sure. As I recorded directly from my first copy of the M E.P. which had been played in a club (unknown how many times) I noticed skips in the Airwave mix of UNITE! and annoying smaller skips in other tracks. "Download the MP3's that are widely available" you say? Back to my original point: compressed audio :irked And again, I mentioned for convenience. I would rather a record co put together a CD than me havin' to waste hours mastering a CD on my own with no guarantee guarentee I would be completely satisfied with the end result. When was the last time you were at a friends house or drivin' your car and put a vinyl on the mobile turntable? Chances are never.

my point is, vinyl has better sound quality compared to cds. even to 'remastered' cds. so when you have a vinyl you dont need the cd

vinyl is so fragile, even when compared to discs
