Be My Last sounds like an album track to me, not a single. It would really suck if that sells more or wins more than Heaven. Be My Last shouldn't even be nominated for anything in my opinion.

Golden Disc Wins:
It's:
2001: ayumi hamasaki
2002: ayumi hamasaki
2003: Hikaru Utada
2004: ayumi hamasaki
2005: ORANGE RANGE

Japan Record Award Wins
2001: ayumi hamasaki
2002: ayumi hamasaki
2003: ayumi hamasaki
2004: Mr. Children (The original winner was Ken Hirai, who also rejected it, and then it fell onto ayumi hamasaki who also rejected it.)

Ken Hirai was the original winner for 2004's JRAW?!!! That's great news! I'm his biggest fan but i kind of feel sad that he didn't accept it. THey should make a rule that artists shouldn't reject the award for whatever reason. DO you know why he reject the award?

She will win.. she must win! :D Oh, it would be purrfect..

greggerz189 31st August 2005 12:40 AM

I really hope that Hamasaki wins both the Golden Disc and the Japan Record Awards! ^_^

AyuGAME 31st August 2005 01:15 AM

Nu-NRG 31st August 2005 03:03 AM

i thought she rejected all the awards all together since last year
i do hope so she win it!!!

Mad_Cactuar 31st August 2005 03:07 AM

Be mY Last is not enough powerful, but I'm not surprised if it wins cos its Utada's.. BUT PRAY THAT AYU WINS THIS ONE!!!

spacelion 31st August 2005 03:11 AM

As much as I <3 Hikki, I thought "Be my Last" was a little repetative.
HEAVEN is the much better song. :)

Ayufan Madeen 31st August 2005 07:26 AM

I really hope so ^^, it's awesome song ^^, and it's much better than Hikki's Be My Last >>", hope that HEAVEN will have better sales.

Uranus: Alot of artists feel those awards are rigged. It's quite a noble thing to reject it once you know it's the labels who select the winners... choosing someone as a winner means their stock goes up artifically, so to speak. Artists who reject it don't want their careers or their labels to be boosted on anything but the artist themselves, their style & their music. Not an award they won.

Thank you for that explanation, I didn't know this either!

Yukitora 31st August 2005 10:02 AM

Oooh, thats interest yet kinda sad in a way :(

I'm glad she rejected it last year then :D But I think she actually deserved it for the years she won :o

kournikova 31st August 2005 10:56 AM

Wow, I didnt know THIS could exist in anywhere on the world. Its shocking that the labels would do such a thing to boost sales! Well if Ayu wins it but rejects it, I'm always glad to take it for her sake :D!!!

Yukitora 31st August 2005 11:04 AM

dareka won that year... it was Hikki's only new song that year... and it sucked... -_-

Mad_Cactuar 31st August 2005 11:06 AM

no it didnt.. it was beautiful.. study the lyrics and watch the pv, and listen to it somewhere quiet and peaceful.. you'll understand why..

greggerz189 31st August 2005 02:24 PM

I agree Mad Cactuar...I think DAREKANO was great.

I have to concur with Deliruim's post, things like popularity are generally really fleeting and heavily biased but it seems particularly problematic in Japan. I wonder how often, if at all, this is brought up in the news. The labels are surprisingly powerful. I was surprised the first time I heard about that as well.

I hope heaven will win even though ayu might reject the award, because I think it's her best ballad in a long time. I don't think be my last is even close. The chorus ruins the song. HEAVEN is perfectly dramatic, emotional, and most important of all; it has a beautiful melody. Really BEAUTIFUL. :thud

Kirshwasser 2nd September 2005 12:50 PM

i've heard Be my last...and i don't like it...Heaven way much better than be my last but i won't be surprise if it beats heaven..
