She wore them in "concert tour 2000" but they are clear. They were wireless, too. She probably chose not to wear those anymore since she couldn't adjust the volume (she's ALWAYS changing it :(, not good for her ears. )

Im pretty sure singers record the main vocal first..... after that.... they can work on song, change and play with, to see whats good doing...

yea i think i noticed the earphones that jim said. clear and compact. but wow, wireless! cool, i didnt know they had wireless earphone back in 2000!

if you people watch the heaven ms performance, you can see ayu fiddle with the earphones right at the start. i guess she's adjusting the volume like what jim says. heh. cool.

I was just wondering, out of curiosity, what those earphone thingy she puts in her ears are, while performing live. If anyone knows or has any idea, please tell. Thanks in advance.

I think she hears her own voice through those earphones. She damaged her hearing during the Dome Tour back in 2001, so she needs them to hear if she's singing the notes right.

It's nothing to do with her hearing problems, because most artists wear these ear pieces at concerts to hear themselves. Sometimes they're not noticeable because some can be transparent or flesh-coloured.

I'm sure that those were just ear plugs she was wearing.

As for the big black earplugs she wears now, they serve two purposes - one so she can hear herself singing and the other is that it helps protect the ears.(most artists have specially built ones fit specifically to there ears to help cancel out the sound.)

Ayu is always playing with them while she sings. I keep thinking they are going to fall out!

Okay so when she puts those black earplugs on can she still hear the music? Is the only sound that's comming out of those earplug/earphone her voice?

Hmmm... I think Ayumi ones seems different from other artist could be because of her ears? I remember that she have sume ear problem. Perhaps that's why hers is so big and better for her ears?

in my opinion, i feel that the earphone will allow her to hear herself sing such that she will be together with the live band as live band is definitely different from the recording.

another reason could be that the music plays in the earphone and ayu can sing according to what she hears, which is together with the band.

in short, it allows ayu to sing with the band.. LOL

I think the earphones are an interesting phenomenon since only Ayu uses them.

don't think it has anything to do with a hearing problem... alot of artists use those kind of headphones so that they can hear themselves. just watch a few videos and you'll see what i'm taling about

exactly right! she is listening to herself and the music so she's on pitch and tempo ^^

those are earplugs, they block the avex mind control sound waves.
