YAY! We're building momentum here! I see that we have many supporters for "Real me"! How about we all vote for that one! Get all your friends to do it too!! And I'm sure they'll play non-english videos! I mean, when the Latin music fad came, they were playing Ricki Martin and Christina Aguilera videos en ESPAŅOL!!! And if our votes are enough, they can't ignore us! I remember that they once played a NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK video because enough people voted for it! We have a chance!!! :D |
I think MTV will just throw out the results if somebody that they have never heard of won. I personally think MTV only promotes certain groups and singers that they like but I'll vote anyways.

I voted for "Real Me". I think "Real Me" would be our best bet since Ayu sings the most english in it. "Connected" doesn't have any english and i doubt people would understand any of it. Besides, we want americans to see Ayu! What a great idea this is. Why didn't we think of it before? I feel if enough americans came forward and requested ayu vids, then mtv would try to find out who this hot superstar is! We might be on the brink of something very spectacular!

wow, i never realized the options were so limited. it's all trendy new crap. no wonder the same band would have the same hit for a month in a row. with those limited options, who would vote? wish I could browse through all their listings. remember, if mtv doesn't have it, they can't play it. otherwise, I'd do a big beatles thing, but mtv didn't exist yet.

I'm sure that even if they didn't air the actual video they'd make a comment on the show abotu it. Something like "About 1000+ voted for this person named Ayumi Hamasaki. We don't know who it is, and we don't have the video, so we can't play it." You know?

correction.. i watched it on mtv chinese.. is it the same thing as mtv asia? i dunno... cuz we got a lot version of mtvs here.. including the one that constantly plays indian (no.. not american indians.. but south asia indian) songs..
but yea.. they play the pv on weekdays, weekends, almost everytime.. sometimes twice a day.. and it's mtv so they should have it on their database.. all we gotta do is vote |

I voted for Real Me like 30 times. I used to know a trick where you used the shift bar or something and it would submit the vote so many times. I forget though.

We should vote for either Connected or kanariya, and here's why. Even outside Japan, ayumi is pretty well-known in clubs, and Connected and kanariya have both gotten airplay in the USA. Jonathan Peters' kanariya remix is the one on the USA analog release, AND it's the one in the video. So they'd be likely to play that. (BTW, call it "kanariya (Canary)", not just kanariya, because that's what it's called in the usa.) I know kanariya is a relatively old song but the analog didn't come out too long ago, especially by american standards of old/new.
As for the "Connected" video, the review of it in NewType USA makes it a fairly well-known video here compared to some of her others. The anime-invasion here would help push that up. Also, we'd have to all vote about a million times (it takes literally THOUSANDS of votes to get on that show) for it to make it. We'll have to set up a specific date and then let everyone know. |
