The calmest I try is Tori Amos' emo stuff. All piano and wailing.

Relaxing is a whole different story. I love Ken Hirai's stuff. Grandfather's Clock rules!

mmm...
Emo stuff...
I'm going to limewire :P
Anywayz, i listen to songs liek SCAR, uhh... and my Inuyasha soundtracks :)
They have nice asian themed goodness... some of the songs are VERY relaxing :yes
So good... :tipsy
Thats one of the upsides of the series that the manga doesn't have :thumbsup they did a wonderful job on that stuffz.

I was going to say that too, but guess you beat me to it.

Hirai Ken's Hitomi wo Tojite could be worth a try too. And yeah, Nakashima Mika works as well. LOL the Morpheus of J-Pop.

PSYCHEDELICOdust 30th January 2006 08:38 PM

Ai Otsuka's LOVE COOK album is relaxing, same for Mika Nakashima's MUSIC.

Of course I'm kinda weird and can go to sleep with Hello! Project concerts blaring.

Sweer 30th January 2006 08:39 PM

for me anything that I can relate to will work if I'm tired enough ^^

but of course with some soothing tunes it is easier to fall asleep than with some upbeat track

All songs from The Diary of Alicia Keys always make me relax.
Sometimes,I play it when I can't sleep.

Any ballad is nice. Especially one with white noise. Mmmm.

HanabiChick 5th February 2006 11:32 AM

Sometimes I listen to Ayu songs to relax me if I'm having trouble getting to sleep, I also listen to some classical music, I especially like Bach or Vivaldi's Four Seasons for that.

chibi_sunny 5th February 2006 11:31 PM

i dont listen to music when i go to sleep...i just think about different things as i fall asleep. but most of the time, i'm pretty tired, so going to sleep is no problem.

Calico 6th February 2006 02:07 AM

I don't listen to songs to go to sleep at night, but I LOVE to listen to them on the way to school in the morning, since I like to sleep then. =P

Mostly I listen to dance/trance music. If it has a steady beat, then it's easy for me to sleep to. Confessions on a Dancefloor, AROUND THE WORLD, Daft Punk, etc... are all great for me. Plus on the way home when I'm wide awake I have an awesome CD to jive to!

Otherwise I like to listen to New Age/Ethereal kind of stuff. Never listen to Enya, really, but Sarah Brightman, Loreena McKennitt, and RURUTIA are all amazing in this department. I also like to listen to smooth hip-hop like Queen of Hip-Pop.

And I'm horrible at falling asleep in the car with this music on...like today. :laugh

LacusClyne 9th February 2006 07:19 AM

my latest lullaby, is ayu's theme of a-nation03.

cleftjuston 9th February 2006 10:03 AM

no, i don't know of any songs that make you fall asleep

Mad_Cactuar 9th February 2006 11:22 AM

Songs that make you fall asleep. Hmmm. Coldplay's Fix You is incredibly boring and sleepy at times. Listening to it without raging enthusiasm makes you knock out.

momobean 9th February 2006 02:57 PM

KOKIA's singing is really soothing. I also listen to Nakashima Mika's LOVE album sometimes. I think Matsu Takako's Harvest Songs album would be good as well but I haven't tried it yet..

thinkingoutloud89 9th February 2006 04:48 PM

Koda Kumi - you
Namie Amuro - Never End

devilayu 9th February 2006 04:55 PM

Classical music, definitely. My favorite is Chopin. Other than that, I used to go to sleep listening to the radio (Top 40, pop) but I don't really sleep while listening to music anymore.

I've been told in the past by a friend that the Sailormoon soundtracks I lent her were good to sleep to. XD

Princess_Of_Roses 9th February 2006 06:33 PM

Slow sad songs put me to sleep....Tears by X-Japan puts me to sleep crying >.< !! ...soothing songs..mostly ballads i love ^___^..1000 words i always would go to sleep too >.<
