It's not as if Ando Yuko has had much experience performing live so far. And I'm very surprised people who have listened to Ayu live can say Yuko's voice hurts their ears. And the falsetto is MEANT to be there.

EDIT: And for those who wanted a full list of the performers. In order of appearance in the clip, with the name of the song they sang in the brackets:

- Nakamura Ataru ("tomodachi no uta", which is a song she penned for Iwasaki Yoshimi; she's a new singer-songwriter with Avex, scheduled to debut this week with "yogoreta shitagi" - she does acoustic pop, and is produced by Kameda Seiji, bassist for Tokyo Jihen; worth checking out)
- Kouda Kumi ("koi no tsubomi")
- Otsuka Ai ("FRIENGER")
- Ando Yuko ("nouzen katsura (REPRISE)", the song which shot her to fame; it's a poignant ballad written in memory of her grandparents)
- Hakase Taro ("To Love You More")
- Hamasaki Ayumi ("BLUE BIRD")

I'm surprised you didn't notice my post right above yours, or even checked the thread before posting. And no, Ando Yuko does not hurt your ears.

Anyway. The singer playing the piano is Nakamura Ataru, who's scheduled to make her major label-debut this week with Avex (quite obviously), after releasing a self-produced CD back in 2005. She's a singer-songwriter produced by Kameda Seiji, bassist for Tokyo Jihen, and dabbles in acoustic pop. Her debut single, "yogoreta shitagi", is quite interesting in more ways than one.
