I don't think that's entirely true. TV versions of her concerts don't always sound very much different, and I thought she sang exceptionally well for most of the songs, with a few exceptions, when I saw her this year. But it's true, they do edit quite a lot.

I loved the MY STORY tour. At first, I really didn't like the album, as I thought half the songs are very bland (which I still do), but the tour helped me appreciate the album a lot more. The whole musical theme is great and it perfectly matches the album, unlike many of her other tours.

Syphex 8th July 2006 05:12 PM

You dont even need special themes and props going on to have a good tour. Nice costumes, voice, audience interaction and simply atmosphere does the trick. Look at Stadium Tour 2002--I would regard that as her best concert performance ever.

Coelacanth 8th July 2006 05:17 PM

This tour is really overrated.. :rolleyes

Dome was a lot more extravagant and jaw-dropping to me anyway.. And at least she sang really, really good.

immel 8th July 2006 05:32 PM

^It's true that the topic indicate that MY STORY might be the best, but the actual question is if AT2k6 will be better than AT2k5.

o_O.. I don't like Dome Tour that much. I bought the DVD thinking it would be like the best thing ever, but it wasn't that great. Her voice was so whiny and screechy and she always did this annoying deep breath whine thing that just made me want to scream. Plus, the effects weren't even THAT great, I mean, projections were good, but half of them weren't even that appealing to me, and the actual stage that she performed on wasn't that nice looking.. and what was with half the costumes? I mean, the evolution one was ugly. the "M" one was just like.. wtf. I think she should have chosen something prettier. and then AUDIENCE.. wasn't that great.. I think the costumes from MY STORY tour were MUCH MUCH better (aside from that awesome DT Seasons dress! XD) Plus, there was hardly any interaction with the audience in the Dome Tour, except the encore of course. The concert wasn't that "fun" at all. Except like 3 or 4 songs, it was all like.. slow songs.. so boring. I watched it for the first time with a friend and she kept dozing off and I must admit I was becoming quite bored with it too. The MY STORY tour is WAY funner, prettier, and all around just a better concert, imo!

As for Arena Tour 2006, I'll have to wait and see the DVD for that :D But I think it has a chance at being as good as/better than AT2005. As long as Ayu's performance is great, and we see her having lots of fun, nice effects (the screen thing I hear about sounds awesome) and stuff like that.

immel 8th July 2006 06:02 PM

Let's try not to go offtopic, there's other threads for discussing which of all the tours that is the best, this one's for only two of them, hehe.

I hope it'll look as awesome on the DVD as it did seeing it there :yes.

As for the light show of AT2k6, which I praised a whole lot, I don't know, I just re-watched the AT2k5 DVD and tried to keep an eye on the light show, it's hard because so many of the scenes are really close up so you miss much of the real show as the audience see it, maybe that's why I thought AT2k5 was lacking in that area compared to AT2k6.

I really don't know which one I'll like the best, they could ruin the entire show if they make it into a bad DVD but I doubt that :P.

edit~

haha.. i think ARENA TOUR 2006 showed us that ayu is getting matured. as in no more Boys & Girls acting cutesy in her main repertoire. i cant wait for AT 2006 DVD to be out cos its so spectacular. with the alterna ball thingy and the Bold & Delicious elevated stage. so grand!! i hope its better than AT 2005!!

Well Stadium Tour was 100x better; she already did better. The vocals were simply amazing, and are the best I've ever heard from her. In that concert, it didn't consist of gaudy set designs and ugly costumes. Just simple outfits, nothing outlandish.

Countdown Live 2000-2001 was also much better than MY STORY. Her vocals were at the peak of Ayu; back in the time when she had the real emotion in her singing that defines Ayu. The A Song for XX and teddy bear performances were the best in their kind.

Happy now?

marty518 8th July 2006 10:36 PM

She needs to do another Stadium tour outdoors!!
The outdoor atmosphere is much more liberating and gives the concert an entirely different feel! It's more summery, which reminds me of my favorite Ayu songs.

I hope next year she does a summer stadium tour and not an arena tour.

truehappiness 8th July 2006 10:43 PM

I just hope that if she does a Stadium Tour, that they don't butcher it with TERRIBLE EDITING on the DVD. Some songs were BARELY seen due to behind the scenes footage.. x.x

PickleCookies 8th July 2006 10:45 PM

Only July 1st.

evolution7931 8th July 2006 10:54 PM

I actually think that Stadium Tour was a little boring o.O .. I don't know why. I don't think the vocals were out-of-this-world.. they were good, though. I just think that this concert doesn't have that much replay value.. at least to me. XD Thats just my opinion, though. I'm one of those people who likes to see alot in the flash department

truehappiness 8th July 2006 10:54 PM

Save the behind-the-scenes for like, some other track on the DVD.

They totally messed that up with AT02 and ST02. :/ I'm glad they learned their lesson. :]

evolution7931 8th July 2006 10:57 PM

^^ I think they were inserted well into the Arena Tour 2002. They didn't make us miss any action and they had effects and stuff. In Stadium Tour they just kept cutting right on in.. in evolution and July 1st and the one that aggrivated me the most was AUDIENCE, because sometimes I couldn't tell when we were back at the finale, they synchronized the performance from all the places ;s.

truehappiness 8th July 2006 11:10 PM

XD Ah.

I don't really like seeing what's going on behind the scenes when I'm watching the concert, I guess. It's a bit.. irritating. If I see it in like, some separate track then it's fine since I'm not in concert-mode. XD

elepop 9th July 2006 12:56 AM

I still haven't seen the concert...
