Meh. All I do is read the tabloids and get on with my day. Knowing how creditable the tabloids are there, it doesn't bother me really that much. :P I just think of other nice things for the day.

Hong Kong itself sounds like a nice place, I want to visit there someday. XD

I really don't think Hong Kong is jealous of Japan (my opinion). Japan is the #1 tourist destination for the young people of Hong Kong. There is even a slang word in Cantonese for "Japan enthusiasts". Generally (despite things about history) people in Hong Kong have a good impression of Japan.

The tabloid's slander of foreign stars are not because they are foreign stars. It is because they are tabloids! Aren't tabloids supposed to be sensational, outrageous, vulgar, ruthless, and what not? Wouldn't a tabloid writer FAIL if his/her tabloid just blew? In a way, they are similar to "forum trolls". Write something that will cause controversy, anger, and there you go.

And about Alan Tam: He is like, the #1 sad uncle in Hong Kong (my opinion). His nickname is "principal" because he always criticizes and scolds singers younger than himself. He's like a principal of a elementary school, all fussy and stuff.

oh yes Principal Tam as people refer him as...so annoying. Hes so old yet he still tries to look and dress young....-____________- seriously the wrinkles on his face can kill flies

hahahaha...alan tam is jokes. he has some nice songs and i LOVE it when he keeps on forgetting his lyrics XD mmm...hes a funny guy. oohh...also i remember MANY years ago, principal tam said hacken lee (another hk artist) was going to make it big, but sadly hacken ended up fading away in the industry. luckily he made a come back after his duet with gigi leung...anyway...

not only does hk media like to over-exaggerate, but they also like to use harsh and brutal wordings to slam the artists or attack the situation. maybe because i wasn't brought up in HK and raised with the constant slang trends, thats why i find them offensive, like the title about ayu's article, when she was drunk and her bra showed...GEEZ. -.-"

HK tabloids are usually editorial to me...

The biggest problem isn't that HK tabloids are constantly blowing things out of proportion and printing fake news, it's that (at least from my experience) the people are so GULLIBLE! It's like they don't realize that they shouldn't believe everything the news says. Are the tabloids viewed as legitimate news sources in HK? That's what it seems like from the people I've talked to...

I guess this tabloid thing will continue as surely itz raking in money for the newspaper company. To make the papers sell, they will go that far to do it. And there's no authority to put some discipline on it. Unless they impose stricter laws on tabloids, this problem will remain.

Putting hidden cameras in star's changing room, that ought to be a serious offence. And they got away with it and managed to use their crime to put down the victims? Really ridiculous. Kinda like a peeping-tom accusing the victim of doing something shameful, what the hell.

I pity the HK artistes. Foreign celebrities performed in the country and could alrdy get all these tabloids. Imagine those HK celebrities living in HK. They have to face them everyday.

Very true. I am not dissing Hong Kong. Just criticizing the morals of Hong Kong
tabloids. They not only profit from cooked up stories but they do not practice restraint. They often choose to not only over-exaggerate but to purposely
defame for their personal profits.

i'm from hk and i've been there, the people there aren't as 'nice', all they think of is to make money, their morality are different, it's because they struggle to find a job etc.

Yeah, Taiwan media is about the same, but they are more kind. This is because their media systems are modelled after a 'freedom' system - they can print whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt society. =\
