Madonna has a new song with Pharrell. It's called "Hey You" and will be a Microsoft-branded Live Earth charity download.

This is from a reliable source! I can't wait to hear it, this is so awesome!

ALARM 12th May 2007 08:11 AM

this is totally off topic but Marty is a real cutie.

Vinylfantasy 12th May 2007 08:16 AM

Speaking of Marty, they fixed the ICON shirts. They no longer have the apostrophe.

I knew Madge wouldn't let me down! She is the queen of the world, after all. She would never let such a silly mistake go uncorrected.

Vinylfantasy 13th May 2007 07:37 PM

More info on the queen of the world's new song coming out next week! :D:D Ahh I'm so excited! I just don't know what to do with myself!

DrownedMadonna is pleased to share some tidbits with fellow fans, about HEY YOU, Madonnas Live Earth song.

To stop some speculation, we can tell you the song is NOT a Duet.

So far the song is NOT scheduled to be served to radios. It is NOT a commercial single. Its JUST for live earth.

IT is original and NOT a cover ( not the Pink Floyd song ). The song is about making a difference, loving yourself and others. It is a simple song, not at all like Confessions music. You can call it a Mid tempo beat..

Cyria 13th May 2007 08:17 PM

Mid tempo, I like that, and I'm happy that it's not a duet (Madonna doesn't need vocal guest stars on her songs).

Vinylfantasy 13th May 2007 08:35 PM

I hope it doesn't turn out to be another "History." That would really disappoint me.

Cyria 13th May 2007 09:21 PM

I listen to History quite often. I block out the lyrics and focus on the music (also my I Love New York/Super Pop approach).

More info on Filth & Wisdom thanks to MadonnaTribe!

Madonna made her film directing debut yesterday - as she started shooting her new mini-movie in London.
The pop superstar is making a 30-minute film entitled "Filth and Wisdom", believed to be a comedy based on the star's own experiences.

A source said: "Shooting has just started and it's a chance for Madonna to showcase another of her talents. It's just a short film at the moment but it's expected to be a hit at film festivals."
Madonna hopes filming will wrap by July when she is due back in the recording studio.
She said: "I hate to be such a tease, but you know how I am."

The mother-of-three - who directed the TV advert for her 'M by Madonna' clothing line with high street chain H&M - held acting auditions for the project last month.

Characters reportedly include an Indian chemist owner, a Jewish businessman, and a failed ballet dancer who becomes a pole dancer.

Here's a brief recapt of what Drowned Madonna exclusively revealed about the track:

*You can call it a Mid Tempo Beat.

Thanks to DrownedMadonna

There's a LQ leak of part of Hey You here.

I'm glad we're finally getting a ballad from M. I'm not floored by the preview but I'll wait until the full version comes out till I judge it. If it turns out to be ****** I think I'll forgive her, it is for charity after all.

I love the song! It's very simple but very beautiful.

Halla 17th May 2007 01:35 PM

I dled "Hey You". it's for a good cause, but I didn't like the song tho.

I'm curious about to which musical direction her next album is heading to. Hey You didn't sound like the usual production by Pharrel

Vinylfantasy 17th May 2007 08:26 PM

I think the song is okay. I don't really like it that much but I certainly don't detest it either. I am sure that she just squeezed out this track for charity and her new album won't be like Hey You. I honestly can't see a whole album of tracks that sound like The Little Drummer Boy.

Yes, I don't think she spent much time on it. It's pretty meh for a Madonna song, but at least I was fast enough to download it for free.

marty518 18th May 2007 03:16 AM

:( I'm sad that other people don't like it so much. I've been totally obsessed with it! Oh well.. we do have the new album to look forward to also.

Vinylfantasy 18th May 2007 03:23 AM

The song itself isn't that bad, it's mostly the chanting part that gets to me. I can't wait to hear the rest of her new material! :D

..:Hot:Like:Wow:.. 18th May 2007 08:27 AM

The song is'nt bad but yeah, not a super fan of it... still pretty cool though.

Weslicious 18th May 2007 10:35 AM

What the hell was she trying to do with her voice before the chanting?

Oh well, I hated History and now this, so with the age old 'third time lucky' mantra I'm bound to love her next work.

LEOyumi 18th May 2007 04:17 PM

LOVED Hey You! Wonderful song ^_^
