So many threads about this topic... But I could almost swear it's not Ayu speaking that part. Maybe it's just my ears but listen to that remix and compare the voice of that part and then Ayu's "ladies night, ladies night.." I think Ayu's voice is always more nasal and there's something in the tone of that voice that doesn't sound like Ayu at all.

Yea, it doesn't sound like Ayu.

And I'm not hearing "If you lose him" in the first line. I hear something like "Did you loathe them".

Yeah me too.. and I'm gonna take my headphones and listen to it and let's hope I'll hear it now

Edit:

Quote:

"If you lose them
can't place them (danger)
Hate him, then even so
You don't ever (need to)
Think you can't beat him (need to)"
I'm sorry.. but I know for sure that this is not what she says.. because for starters.. she really doesn't say 'beat'.. you can hear a 'f'... which makes me think she says 'fail'

Also.. if I'm gonna approach this and really tell you EXACTLY what I hear.. is that there's a difference between the verses. It's as if she says

Did you (loathe/love) him
Can't replace him him
Hate him, then even so (we already agree mostly)
You don't ever (need to) think you can FAIL him

Did you loSe him (yes really really.. there's DEFINETELY a difference because in the the one above I hear a 'f' as in love or loathe... but here I can definetely hear a S as in lose)
Gotta place him (once again, there's a difference, because the 're' in replace is more clear.. which might cause the confusion)
Hate him, then even so
You don't ever (need to) think you can fail him (it's the same, but even this is prenounced differently.. more clear)

So after hearing it with headphones and putting it in a program to slow it down.. I'm pretty sure these are the lyrics and I'm also a 100% sure that there's a difference.. as if there are two verses. If they are '(did you loathe/love him)' and '(did you lose him)'.. I might not be a 100%... because god knows she might say 'did you went to the McDonalds and get a hamburger.. hate it' or something.. but unless ayu comfirms it herself.. we can never be sure

I also hear "Did you loathe him?" and I'm postive that it's Ayu :yes
Because in PV, we see Ayu ruling the army and she says those mysterious lines... So why would anyone else sing it?

Bazaa 30th March 2008 12:42 PM

I thought it was one of her background singers, it doesn't sound like Ayu at all :| I heard:

"Ditch them, lose them,
can't replace them,
hate them and even so
you don't ever
think you can beat them"

ayushe86 30th March 2008 01:13 PM

actually i thought ayumi speaking to the DJ or something..or i think its not English at first maybe she speaking other languages...now it all clear..thanks for the translations guys..i just don't listen to ayu song remix the last one i hear is Cyber Trance Ayu...

ayuholic 30th March 2008 01:15 PM

Haha, I hear "DJ rhythm" during the first line.
It can't be Ayu who's saying those lines. It does NOT sound like her at all.

AyuHamasaki01 30th March 2008 01:19 PM

^When I first heard Ladies Night I also heard something about a DJ and a café .... :dead2

GRACE 30th March 2008 06:53 PM

Yeah, I totally agree! I think it's even more evident in the LN remix where Ayu says "c'mon" at the beginning and then the rap comes on. The voice in the rap sounds COMPLETELY different from Ayu's "c'mon" O_o; And the voice in the rap is too smooth, I think. Ayu's voice is a bit raspier/lower ^^;

njanjayrp 30th March 2008 08:11 PM

Ayu used exactly the same lyrics Jade did for that part ~ these are the lyrics that we used on SBN:"
Leave him, lose him, cut, replace him
danger
Hate him, then erase him
You don't ever [need to] think you can't leave him [need to]".
At first I wasn't sure if Ayu actually sang that part or someone else instead, but I guess that other vocal would be credited as usual.

Raiu-Ayu 30th March 2008 09:41 PM

First off I am 100% sure that it is not ayu singing the rap part. No way on this earth! The voice is way too low pitch to be ayu!

Second I'm pretty sure the rap is:
"Ditch them, lose them
Cut, replace them
Hate them
Then even so you don't ever [need to] think you can't beat em"

LEOyumi 30th March 2008 09:49 PM

LOL I heard:

Need erase them
kinda place them
hate him and even so
you don't ever need to worry you got..

I know most of it doesn't make sense, but engrish is sooo common that I don't care and I actually sing this way o_O'

austin. ♥ 30th March 2008 10:36 PM

I always thought it was this-

"Teach him, raise him
Can't replace him (DJ) LOL@DJ
Hating, then even so
You don't ever (need to)
Think you can fail".

:shrug

Where are people hearing "beat them", I always hear "fail" for that bit. D:

Catzi 30th March 2008 10:42 PM

"If you lose them
can't place them (danger)
Hate him, then even so
You don't ever (need to)
Think you can't ______ him (need to)"

This is basically what I hear. I really can't understand that last word. T_T

evolusean 30th March 2008 11:01 PM

It's absolutely not Ayu. The voice is clearly from a completely different set of vocal chords. I'm certain it is the "Jusme" person who is credited as the Vocoder voice, if for no other reason than the fact that there is only 1 vocoded voice in the track.

Coincidentally, Jusme is a name that has popped up elsewhere in J-Pop, writing the lyrics for "ALARM" for Amuro Namie, among several others (usually appearing alongside composer MONK).

AmyRoseM 30th March 2008 11:02 PM

I'm sorry, but there is NO WAY that it's Ayu talking in her version of Ladies Night. Ayu doesn't sound like that when she speaks English. It does sound like it could be Jade. Perhaps when they mixed the song they just mangled her English to make it sound more interesting. OR it's just another Japanese person speaking. Because that is not Ayu...
