On the contrary...

This video's art direction was absolutely spectacular, and one of the best things about the video. The Direction was horrible, yes, but they're two entirely different things.

The art director decides on things like color choices, color changes, video effects (not those in the realm of editing, but things like "let's make it less saturated" or "let's give it a dreamy quality"), and the overall "look" of the video. The director decides things like camera placement, how people move, and often the concept. The director says "let's give this a worms-eye view" or "i want you to walk quickly, like you're in a hurry" or "this is gonna be filmed from Ayu's POV." Not at ALL what the video is nominated for.

The art direction in "GREEN" was fabulous. The art director decided ayu's clothes should go from White to Red, that the outdoor scenes should be more brown, that the Red colored things outside should be brighter than everything else, that the pink backdrop on the stage should be purple when she's up there. Things like that. That stuff was the high point of "GREEN". The color choices alone warrant a full interpretation discussion. The video might not win this award, but from a filmmaking standpoint, the art direction was VERY strong in "GREEN".

Ah, my bad for mixing up filming terms! Well, in that case, I hope GREEN will never get nominated for 'Best Director' award or something like that! :mischief

Handjan 5th February 2009 07:28 AM

Thanks for information.
I hope she will win.

jimex289 5th February 2009 07:37 AM

She'll most likely win it...being so extravagant and expensive. I don't think a single PV mentioned besides hers could top it in terms of aesthetics. Mr.Children would most likely win this award after her.

PinkShinigami 5th February 2009 07:48 AM

Yaay, really like the GREEN PV :)

But i have to ask, what's wrong with the director? xD

prussian blue 5th February 2009 08:29 AM

GREEN is the best PV out of this year, (even though its boring, but better than MW), so i guess.... it deserved it? congrat ayu <3

SURREAL__RAINBOW 5th February 2009 08:59 AM

woow thanks!! :D

i hope that ayu wins ^^

rookies 5th February 2009 09:26 AM

I hope she will win! ^^

BoBo 5th February 2009 09:28 AM

deserved... ^^

micster 5th February 2009 09:34 AM

Well for the first time I can say I hope she looses. She needs to realise that the PV to GREEN was awful and to never use Kazuwhateverhisnameis again because he is BALLS

Ayu_no_tenshi 5th February 2009 09:38 AM

how...? the PV was not that great at all. >.<
